  1. Brererton had a chance to get a tackle in during that incident but he did his best not to. Three players all drawn to the ball, what were we thinking. ?
  2. What annoyed me was the sentiment that “ We don’t play like that anymore so we don’t need a central striker “. Anybody who thought that our opponents would let us play the way we want until the end of the season needs to think again. That was never going to happen and we should have been preparing for plan B.
  3. Dolan put a great cross in that Gallagher should have done better with.
  4. If you go on other teams message boards you’ll see that it’s becoming a real problem everywhere. It seems to have got a lot worse since the lock down.
  5. I don’t rate Khadra. A lot of tearing around but nothing at the end of it.
  6. Thanks as always Tony. That was hard to read. Nobody came out of that with much credit apart from Dolan. I think you should revert to calling Diaz by his original name of Brererton until further notice.
  7. There should be no question of him getting a new deal.
  8. I think the lad would have got a second yellow card no matter what Lenihan did.. His foot was chest high. It was really embarrassing to see Lenihan make a meal of it though. I’d have a panel that reviewed all footage of games. In the event of faking an injury like that I’d suspend the player involved for a couple of games. You’d soon stop it then.
  9. Buckley needs to play in midfield not up the front.
  10. We got beat by a good team, it happens. They moved the ball well and looked much more incisive in their passing and movement off the ball. They had a centre forward who played like a centre forward. How many of our strikers would have still been on their feet after that series of challenges he rode ? I thought the ref didn’t give us much but Lenihan proved to be a liability again. You’re the captain and you’re already on a yellow card - you must stay on your feet and not go diving in on the half way line. I thought Dolan looked lively when he came on, I’d drop Buckley and play him in Buckley’s place on Monday. Khadra is just a runner, there’s no end product. We lost our shape completely at the end, just throwing forwards on is amateur hour stuff. Nyambe should have come on for Zefuik. Van Hecke was terrible for the pen, he should have let the lad go, cover was coming across and the lad could have easily missed that chance. Rothwell perked up towards the end but he was missing for most of the game. Brererton was back being Brererton, the two long shots he had - the goalie just threw his cap on them. All in all the bad run continues - time for plan B I think.
  11. Or Khadra or Buckley or Travis - I could go on.
  12. I can’t see anybody out there capable of solving the problem either. They’ve grown out of control.
  13. Yeah, I said at the time he could be the next Damian Duff but it was more likely he’ll be the next Keith Tracey.
  14. Don’t let him anywhere near the opponents goals though.
  15. I told you Utd are nothing to fear these days. If Boro can beat them any Prem team should be able to. I can’t see anything changing in the short to medium term either. They are a real mess. Loads of very expensive players bought by several managers without any idea as to a workable formation. They just wait for one or two of their stars to have a blinder. If that doesn’t happen they’re snookered.
  16. Gallagher might be, after that no chance.
  17. Branthwaite who was here at the same time came on as a sub for Everton tonight. I don’t think he’s anything like Premier League standard.
  18. When we come out flying we usually do well. If we come out with a lethargic and lackadaisical attitude we usually lose. I can normally tell after 10 minutes how the game will go. When we’re taking the ball stood still from the off I know it’s going to be a long night.
  19. Purely for financial reasons Jim. As a competition it’s as exciting as watching a submarine race. The big four to six clubs are just pulling further and further away as the seasons go by. They should let them leave and form their Euro Super League.
  20. Everton could easily be the ones to fall into the bottom three. I think Newcastle will get out of it.
  21. They’ve no fighters in the team, all big time Charlie’s. That’s why they’re going nowhere. They need to get Rice in as soon as they can.
  22. They aren’t a team at the moment, they’re just a collection of very good individuals. You’ll never have a better chance of getting three points off them.
  23. Not every nation has the same attitude to animals as we do.
  24. My wife was marking GCSE English exam papers a while back. The students had to write an essay about a big decision they’d made in their lives. One kid had written about how he had to choose wether to stay at his local club or move to London and sign for Spurs. He already had an agent at 16 and he was still in year 11. It was the agent who was agitating for him to move down South. In the end he decided to stay with his local club. The lad has had a long career in pro football and has played at Ewood several times.
  25. Dingles v Red Rats tonight. United are in disarray at the moment, lots of dissatisfaction with the coach and players. A good time to play them. Sorry about the italics.
