  1. Just got back from the pub. What a great day to be a Rovers fan. As long as we can out enthuse opponents I’ll be happy. We out enthused a better team today. That’s what got us the three points - desire and will to win. I’ll give them all an 8, nobody got carried and every player contributed at some point. Eustace has made us hard to beat and hard to play against. All the spaces are filled and there are hardly any gaps to be exploited . The back 4-5 were great especially the centre halves. We should have scored more than 1 to be honest. If I could have picked one player to be on the end of the Cantwell chance it would have been Cantwell. Shame he put it wide. Having said that he put a great penalty away. They don’t stop the ones that hit the side netting even if they guess right.
  2. Back in the day I used to bang on about our opponents constantly having free shots at our goal from around our “ D” . It doesn’t happen now and I think I know why. Could it be that little guy wearing No 6?
  3. I wouldn’t say nothing but it’s not a lot. Interesting to see Leeds attacking the Brittain - Dolan flank constantly in the second half. They knew the other flank was sewn up.
  4. Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town. At 1-30 today !
  5. I’d like to see that team given a go. I think it plays to our strengths. Somehow I think it’ll be business as usual though.
  6. It was a bit like the Bothroyd one at Norwich.
  7. Cisse started that and got clean away with it. Toddy should have chinned him as well.
  8. How could I forget Andy Todd, he’d be in there.
  9. I don’t think Duru is ready for holding down a place in the first team. A loan would do him good.
  10. I was just thinking about the passing of the late John MacNamee, the Rovers centre half in the early to mid 1970’s. My team from my early days to today. Adam Blacklaw Jim Branaghan , John MacNamee, Colin Hendry, John Bray David Batty, Aaron Mokoena, Ken Knighton David Speedie, Alan Shearer, Roy Vernon. Have I missed any out ?
  11. I think he’s got potential.
  12. He changed the attitude on the pitch at Ewood. No more feeling sorry for ourselves that we weren’t being allowed to play our football. He showed us you have to be prepared to fight for the right to play your football. You still do ! Nobody took liberties with us once he arrived. Any chance of a minutes applause tomorrow ? Somehow I doubt it. Thanks for the memories big fella
  13. The Choir - It’s Cold Outside
  14. Top player. I remember a game were he played left side of midfield to accommodate Sherwood in a midfield 4 and he was MOM. He was a better player than Sherwood as the 42 caps would indicate.
  15. That’s probably why he got 42 caps for England.
  16. Yeah, Ken was a real player. One of my favourites. He had a good engine, could beat people, he was a ferocious tackler and he had that tremendous shot. Plus he was a natural captain. We were doomed when we sold him to Hull.
  17. Mm, not really. Ken was more of the driving forward from midfield style player. More like the role Travis is playing at the moment. He also had a tremendous left foot shot and scored several goals. How about David Batty ? Aaron Mokoena ?
  18. Cannibal And The Headhunters - Land Of A Thousand Dances
  19. If they sell him now they’re selling at the wrong time. Makes you wonder if they think the groin injury will be long standing and hard to treat.
  20. Just watching the highlights back - that was a fantastic ball from Ohashi to Dolan early on to put Dolan away. He receives a diagonal ball from Hedges and instantly slid it into space out wide for Dolan to run on to.
  21. The thing I like about that is we still have 7 players in or around the penalty area.
  22. Yeah, that was poor. He was just stood there waiting instead of being aware of what was happening around him.
  23. There’s a story on the BBC site that Arsenal are in talks with Palace with a view to buying Adam for £ 54 million.. Have we got a sell on ?
  24. For me Travis is the player of the season so far.
