  1. It's disgraceful that this can happen to a football club. Do the football authorities accept no responsibility at all for this situation ?
  2. If you read what Mowbray had to say before the game it's no wonder we lost.
  3. We can't play against teams who put a foot in and give us the " hurry up ".
  4. Thanks Herbie. I await the Luton report with interest.
  5. As I saw it he would have been behind Lenihan Abbi, Mulgrew, Williams, Wharton, Platt, Magloire and Grayson at the start of the season. That makes him 9th in line. So no surprises he looked lost.
  6. I find watching the best players in the world playing the possession based game at 'City ultimately bloodless and pretty unexciting although you can't fault the results. It does leave me wondering how good they'd be let off the leash and playing a more conventional and direct style of football ? However the sight of the second rate journeymen we have at the moment playing that way sends me to sleep. Just look where a team of first rate journeymen are not far from here. They seem to be doing ok coming second in terms of possession in most games.
  7. We can give teams a game if they let us play football, as long as they aren't too good at it. We can't give teams a game who come for a dogfight as witnessed last night and on many other occasions. You have to be able to fight for the right to play football and obviously we can't. Nowhere near enough bastards in his signings and too many he sees as son in law material.
  8. The way things are going If you offered me 12th next season I think I'd take it now,
  9. Butterworth has/had a " back injury ". Having a back injury that lasts for such a long period isn't a good sign. Disc trouble can sometimes be a friend for life, especially if it doesn't clear up quickly. Like you I was expecting him to be knocking on the door this season, he looked a real prospect.
  10. I'd have John Barton instead of him tomorrow. At least he saved the odd shot. Fettis I didn't see a lot off. Darren Collier wasn't great either but Walton is hopeless.
  11. Or Bowyer or the Cowley brothers or anybody with a positive attitude
  12. I go back as far as Fred Else and Walton is in a league of his own as being the worst keeper I've seen at Rovers.
  13. But the football was equally mind numbing for large parts of the season. Especially against the teams at the bottom of the league.
  14. I wouldn't give him another penny to spend.
  15. He needs to come back over here and go around that dressing room with the iron rod, Starting with our manager. I'll hold his coat.
  16. Shit end to a shit season. We're only going backwards with this lot in charge. Anywhere else he'd be getting the hard word in the morning. Sick of it all.
  17. You must get a different " Guardian " than me darn sarf. My back page says - " Klopp salutes ' special league title " nobody will ever forget. or " Battling Villa put Watford in the drop zone ".
  18. Ken Furphy, Jim Smith, Gordon Lee, Howard Kendall, None of those hung around at Ewood once they'd gained a good reputation. It's a job just like any other job to most managers. Not many sportsmen have a loyalty to the team they play for once they get a family and a mortage. I live around the corner from a one time Great Britain rugby league international. I was watching replays of old Challenge Cup Finals and in one I saw he'd won the Lance Todd trophy, that's for the man of the match in the Wembley final. The next time I saw him walking his dog I said " I didn't know you'd won the Lance Todd trophy, what is it you got ? " I've never seen the trophy and I was meaning is it a cup or a shield or a statuette ? He replied " Well in my day it was £150." If Wigan get relegated Cook will be able to say but for the deduction I'd have had them mid table. He might be a cnut but he's far from being on his own in football, it's full of them.
  19. I watch that puzzle show on TV chaired by Victoria Coren, is it called " Connect 4 ". ?That is really difficult. " University Challenge " I'm not bad at because it's more general knowledge based.
  20. Put a stone on and you will lose a yard of pace. I'm speaking from personal experience unfortunately. That's before you get any injuries.
  21. Quoting a fee and actually getting the fee are two entirely separate issues.
  22. I'd pay more for Travis, I think he's got more potential.
