I was comparing King with Rhodes. Look where King is playing now and where Rhodes is playing now. As a matter of fact where is Rhodes playing now ? One's doing it every week in the Prem and the other one has never done anything at a higher level than where we are now. -

The thing about Dack is he's either brilliant or mediocre. There doesn't seem to be a half way house. Teams have learnt if you mark him really closely he struggles to impose himself on the game. Nothing new there, most players don't like being man marked. And when he struggles, Rovers struggle. That vital link between attack and defence isn't there anymore. -
Depressing read. What must the players think ? I't's like when you meet an old friend in the street and they say " Are your Ok pal ? You're looking a bit tired ". A minute ago you were feeling on top of the world, now you're not !

January transfer window 2020
Tyrone Shoelaces replied to GunnerRover7's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yes he was, I'd briefly forgotten about him. He was up there with Gestede and Fryatt. Best header of a ball we ever had was Mike England, He was 6' 3" and he could really jump but he wasn't normally a striker. . Regarding lower league goalscorers - Henderson at Rochdale has a brilliant record inspite of playing in a very average team and not always being used as a striker. . I'd have signed him a couple of seasons ago but I think that ship has sailed because of his age now though. -
Football fans and mental health

Watching Rovers can damage your mental heath. That should be printed on the tickets. -

From what I remember of the Preston game you could have dropped the lot of them and nobody could have complained. Lenihan had a real nightmare that afternoon as well. -
We're carrying about 6 players more than we need at the moment.

Nah, he'd have had Rhodes on the left wing and King on the right. I've seen a few decent strikers over the years for Rovers who could head the ball but only Jim Fryatt comes near to Rudy in the heading department. He was exceptional. -

For me the number of " Rovers 0 " scores at half time tells you all you need to know. When did we last give it a real go for more than a half ? -

I think he may be " Sparks Rovers " favourite to take over there. -

If you were a centre half who would you rather have to mark - King or Rhodes ? Rhodes every time for me. He won't out run me and he won't hurt me. -
Character (or lack of)
Tyrone Shoelaces replied to MarkBRFC's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
10/10. Exactly how I feel. Nobody at the club is busting a gut to win games. When did we last out enthuse a good opposing team ? I mentioned it before but listening to Mowbray after last weekends game it sounded like he'd just discovered a hole in his sock not that we'd just blown a great chance to get into the play off zone. -

I read an article about him towards the end of last season. He's had a lot of injury problems apparently. I'd have the Rudy we sold to Villa back in a flash but sadly that's no longer an option. -

A real football chairman will have an idea of who he wants next even if he's happy with the current manager. -
I agree Chaddy, Bennett is bound to play but I'd be surprised if both of Downing or Armstrong start on Saturday

The next generation of successful managers are out there, that is obvious. It's being able to identify them. That means your board of directors having their fingers on the pulse of what's really going on in football. Sheff Utd are doing ok with Wilder and the dingles managing to spot Dyche and before him Howe. We've no chance of making a similar appointment because we haven't got a board. -

Before that ? Bloody hell - they should be in jail.

I was just looking at the records the other day. When did a Rovers player last score a hat trick ? In the 1963-64 season Fred Pickering score 3 hat tricks and Andy McEvoy scored 5 including 4 goals twice ! How things have changed ! -

I despise the Chokers with a vengeance but if they tell Mowbray to get lost if he asks for more money in January I wouldn't blame them ! -

If you're being closely marked you've got to get on your bike and take your marker into places he doesn't want to go. Just wandering around looking sad won't do it. If we are to play two up front I'd rather have Armstrong and Graham. -

We were still basking in the glow of us actually scoring a goal. Another example of our soft mentality.
