  1. That's a great photo. Normally the aerial views are at 90 degrees to that one, looking across the pitch.
  2. Yeah, whatever else he becomes as a player he'll never be a finisher. He needs 4 shooting chances to make the goalkeeper work once.
  3. I meant which one the two will get on the weights and turn into the next Kevin Davies Bolton style.
  4. We needed our best team out if we were hoping to get something. Not a day for the kids I'm afraid.
  5. Henry was quicker than Brererton running backwards. If we're looking for the next " Kevin Davies Bolton style " Nuttall is a more likely candidate than Brererton but I don't have great hopes for either of them at top level.
  6. We can get something here if we play our best 11.
  7. I'm not offended I'm just amazed that people can be bothered doing things like that, it's just sad.
  8. It's almost a pointless discussion regarding Mowbray's position on here. 100% of posters could vote for him to be fired and nothing would happen unless the Chicken Chokers wanted it to him gone. We aren't like any other club in that respect. Even the other clubs fans with idiot owners get to vent their spleen at these owners in person from time to time. Our owners might as well be on Mars for all the impact we can have on them. So really we're all wasting our breath. If massed fan pressure couldn't get Kean sacked the owners obviously pay us no attention at all. My opinion hasn't changed because I still have grave doubts about Mowbray's ability to bring in the players we need in the Summer. In my opinion he's got as many wrong as he as got right, some of his signings have been really poor. If he gets that right I may alter my thinking.
  9. I would have liked to think that " a good £7M of that" spending would have affected our performances this season, and in a positive way. I thought that was the whole point of a football club spending money on transfers.
  10. I could see what Kalinic had to offer and I was one of those who rated him.. King looked to have the makings but seemed to get a lot of muscle type injuries . Bereton is a square peg in a round hole wherever he plays. Not robust enough, not single minded enough in front of goal or smart enough to lead the line and not quick or clever enough to play out wide. That's just my opinion. Time will prove which of us is right.
  11. Where does Dack fit in to that ?
  12. Hands up those people who'd be happy to start next season as Brereton as our first choice striker ? My vote is - Not Happy.
  13. All that matters is you get more points than the team in third. What other teams do in other seasons is irrelevant. I was pretty grateful that Shrewsbury ended up having too many games and faltering at the death. Let's not rewrite history.
  14. Obviously it goes without saying that I'm delighted with our League position. We've consolidated roughly in mid table. Nothing much to complain about there. The football on display has been up and down with more down that most of us would like but given the playing staff at our disposal I suppose that's to be expected. Looking to the future we are at a real crossroads. Some good reinforcements from outside along with judicious use of our up and coming younger players will set us up nicely for a shot at the play-offs next time. Do I think this will happen ? Previous experience suggest not.
  15. They've been up against Luton who are having a tremendous season and Barnsley who've been going well from the start. Last season Shrewsbury were our " Luton " and Wigan were our " Barnsley ". Luckily for us the wheels fell off at just the right time at Shrewsbury.
  16. He's a limited player. When you're a limited player you need to realise you have to work twice as hard as the more talented players to have an impact. If that penny doesn't drop your career as a pro footballer is likely to be very short. At the moment he's Rochdale/ Accy Stanley standard.
  17. Could be they're one and the same person. When did you see them together ?
  18. First shirt I ever had, minus the badge of course.
  19. If we play our best 11 in the Norwich game I think we could get something.. We can give the younger players a game against Swansea at home.
  20. Or a Wes Brown situation. There must be a decent stopper type centre half in the whole of western Europe without looking at guys who are looking for a last pay day.
  21. If Bowyer hadn't have been fired he would have relegated us in that season.
  22. I remarked on that after watching the " highlights " video before we signing him. Obviously he was in camera shot throughout a 7 or 8 minute long video yet he never headed the ball once. Pretty unusual for a striker even in todays football.
  23. You've got to be careful with players that age. It really can be here today gone tomorrow. Look at Charlie boy and before that Danny Murphy. One for the old timers on here - John Radford.
  24. If we could have played for 90 minutes in games we might have actually been in the play-offs !
