  1. Something needs to change, we can’t carry with the current system. If we were to play two up front I’d start with Gueye and Ohashi.
  2. Something has to change if we are hoping to score enough goals to win games.
  3. Carter is out whilst after Xmas apparently.
  4. I remember coming off after a similar performance to todays. On the way out a guy said to me -“ I believe they’ve just found where Lord Lucan has been hiding, he was playing up front for Rovers today .l.
  5. I’ve been there. It’s not doing anybody any good.
  6. I like the “ As for Amorim don’t know him don’t like him “ !

  9. Playing up front on your own in this Rovers team is a thankless task if ever I saw one. You get about one half chance a game. Normally it’s the hardest position on the pitch, that’s why the players who can play it well sell for mega bucks. Nobody would look good up front for us at present.
  10. Nothing is routine were Pears is concerned.

  12. At least they gave Pears something to do. Their keeper could have gone and got a pie and a pint in that last 15 minutes.
  13. I agree with you there. I’ll be watching tomorrow’s game more out of a sense of duty than the thought of being excited and entertained. I’m not knocking Eustace, I appreciate what he’s trying to do with the poor hand he’s been dealt. However anyone who thinks we aren’t playing dull, turgid, football at the moment mustn’t be watching the same game as I am.
  14. I thought we were hanging on to a point at the end and were really glad to hear the final whistle. There was only one team that looked like scoring at the end and it wasn’t Rovers.
  15. Which team was hanging at the end pal ? Rovers or West Brom ? I’m 75 and I could have done what Sigurdsson did. Did he actually touch the ball? Anybody with a pulse would have been an improvement.
  16. Looking at the way Carter limped off I’d be surprised if he’s anywhere near playing on Saturday at 12-30. We could go with Hyam- Batth-Pickering. Pickering played there away at Leicester last season and did pretty well. The only problem is unless MacFad gets fit soon we won’t have a back up on the bench if any of the starters limps off.
  17. That’s why you don’t want the Cantwell's of this world anywhere near your penalty area if you can help it.
  18. I was thinking along those lines as well.
  19. Where would you play him though ? I don’t think he can play up front on his own, he’s not physical enough. He can’t play out wide because he’s too slow. Ideally he could play off Gueye, but we don’t play that way, and if we did Yuki would be a better bet because he’s quicker and braver. When he does get on he needs to show a bit more enthusiasm than he did last night. A strange signing for me.
  20. We play the ball backwards and sideways as much as we play it forward. WBA mixed it up much more. They went long at times, packed the area where they anticipated the ball would land and won plenty of possession in our half that way. On our first goal kick we played our usual game of pass it around at the back until we lose it. They went direct with their first goal kick and actually won the ball in our half. On one of their attacks I counted 7 players in or around our penalty area. We never seem to have more than 4 or 5.
  21. I’d have brought Gueye on sooner and had Yuki playing off him. I’d have gone a bit more long ball, we weren’t creating much as it was. Neither of those two are much more than nuisance value playing up there on their own. Siggy offers nothing at the moment, at least Baker or Buckley would be more involved and would maybe stop them playing through us. Bringing Britain on made sense. It depends whether Eustace wanted to hold on to 1 point or go all out for 3. To me it looked like he was happy with 1. WBA wanted all 3 and went for it at the end. However them subbing players on in time added on was bizarre to say the least. I’ve watched the last two home games now and the entertainment value was very low. Any neutral would have switched off before half time.
  22. 10/10. We are way too casual in possession. We don’t respect the ball anything like enough.
  23. Siggy won’t be doing much pressing ever so bringing him on with that expectation was a bit optimistic.
