I think that applies to me also. It’s a totally different game to what I grew up watching and playing. I watch my local rugby league team now and the excitement/commitment levels are much higher. And that’s from guys who are on about £400 a game.

In spite of me being a critic of Pepball - every time you make a pass the opposing players all have decisions to make, every one, no matter how far the ball is away. Most of the time they get the decisions right and nothing happens. But occasionally one of the opposition nods off, doesn’t make the correct decision, and there’s your chance.

Plus Ipswich were relying on Morsy, who was their talisman. They obviously saw Travis as a direct replacement if something happened to Morsy.

We are suffering as well from Pepball. Even non league teams are trying to play it.

It’s not just the execution, which was perfect, it was the selection of the pass. I’d have played it out wide to Pickering earlier and made life harder for Pickering. He delayed the pass until he could get it inside the fullback and make Pickering’s job a lot easier. Possibly why he’s a pro and I wasn’t.
