Good to see the rest of the of the team chipping in with goals. That’s been missing for a while. -

The loss of Brittain and Beck doesn’t help today. Looks like we are playing with a back 6 plus the keeper. That leaves the other 4 with a lot to do. -

The lesson Beck will learn is that if Pickering plays well from now on he’s going to be sat on the bench for a while. Just when he’d got the shirt. We all have to learn getting on the wrong side of the officials is counterproductive. -

A lot depends on the circumstances. If the scores are level or the team going down to 10 men are winning at the time it’s a lot easier to play with 10 men than if that team is-losing and need to get back into the game. -

The latest wheeze in the lower tier of rugby league is that the winner of the really convoluted divisional playoff system gets to play the third bottom team of the division above in an away game for the right to be promoted. Not home and away, or a neutral ground, but one away game. The two bottom teams of the division above have been relegated automatically in a re-organising move. I can see that sort of thing coming into football one day. -

Southgate is hanging back for the Man U job apparently. I hope he doesn’t have to wait too long. -

Even for old timers like us that was a really bad challenge. He could have had no complaints at all there. Beck’s was just the sort of stupid thing young players do. Having said that they.’ll both get 3 matches, that just shows up the flaws in the system. -
We made a bad career move in signing him in the first place. We bet the ranch on a guy that took two seasons to even look like a footballer.

They should have bought him when they had the chance. It’s not like City to miss out. -

I know, it makes me tired. A winger in my rugby league team played most of a recent game with broken ribs. I wondered why he kept holding his side ! Shaun Edwards once played nearly the whole of a RL Cup Final with a broken jaw ! Are they men or are they mice ? How many games had sendings off at the weekend ? I went for three seasons when I first started watching Rovers without seeing a single sending off. Mike England at the dingle dome after a running battle with Andy Lochead was the first. Another 3 seasons went by before I saw my second sending off. And it really was rough and tumble back in that era. Now you can nearly guarantee you’ll see one if you go to three or four games. -

I think that is Hedges form. One decent game followed by five were he hardly contributes. -

Is an attacking midfield trio of Baker, Dolan and Hedges good enough ? I don’t see any of them being starting players in a decent team. I’ll give Baker the benefit of the doubt for now but the other two blow cold more than they blow hot for me. -

My first - losing 3-1 to lowly Rochdale in the semi final 1st leg. I was going to school in Rochdale at the time ! -

I’d have had Guyere in there personally but in Eustace we trust. If you play well you have the shirt. -
