Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

Slot would 100% take a prem job and JDT 100% the Feyenoord job. No exclusive from Nixon regardless, its already been said on here.... -
They are showing interest, they had all the family round watching the Millwall game on TV according to Greg 🤣 Swag loves a good opportunity to make some extra cash, how about a Q&A with none other than our owners? Tickets would fly off the shelves I assume. Put on some overpriced spud pie and peas and you're onto a winner. Just do it when it's not snowing.

What a game that was. Just me or was the Posh keeper absolutely garbage too? A few of those goals I was just like wtf is he doing. -

Just have to hope Spurs look elsewhere than Arne Slot... Feyenoord would be the ideal job for JDT I'm afraid for personal and career reasons, that's if they feel his CV is worthy at this present time, I imagine they would do. -

Didn't he recently buy a house up north though? He should definitely get championship offers, and if he does I'm putting my house on him scoring when we play said team! Providing he stays fit you just know he's gonna score goals for a team who's playing style suits him.... -

Very sad news, no room for sentiment though in sport 😢 Ultimately it COULD be the right decision if the wages are spent wisely and goal scorers are incoming. Likewise it could be a disaster, as of yesterday Dack was probably our best goal scorer 🤯 Suppose I'll reserve judgement, for now -
I'll be following with interest to be honest how he gets on at his new club, not sure why there'd be a need to close it.
-
Its just an idea, I know it'll never happen. But I'm interested to know why Chaddy thinks it's so ludicrous given that the actual benefits from being a season ticket holder diminish every season. Christ you even needed 1875 club on top to easily secure a Burnley away ticket last season, or face a mad scramble in the next phase.
-
Why? As things stand, the only real benefit from having one is you sit in the same seat every game really, given that kick off changes mean many can't make every single game. Next season you won't even need one to secure high demand away tickets with Burnley out of the equation, unless we get a particularly good cup draw ay some point.

If they scrapped the traditional season ticket as I suggested, the prices could become dynamic on a match by match basis, if a game is moved for sky the entrance fee becomes 15 quid, or even a tenner if we're feeling generous. It's without a doubt a big factor in many peoples decision making process when parting with cash for a season ticket. The best thing about Leeds coming down would be they'll be on every week instead of us mind....
-
Waggott however has been marching round in his Leeds underpants for weeks singing marching on together rubbing his hands together at the thought of charging 8k of them 30 odd quid a pop

No its not, there is far, far more to it. Its a lazy response to just shrug our shoulders and say damn it, too expensive, that's it. I'm a prime example, the price is NOT the reason I'm not getting a season ticket and I know many others who are the same. I'm not a marketing expert, nor am I a financial services expert. But I know there's more the club could be doing in both areas. Klarna, clear pay, BNPL, do they even know what these things are? Do they know what a dormant customer is or how to engage with these people? It costs peanuts to do so if you have an ounce of business acumen. We have a wet behind the ears kid heading up our marketing department. You can read all the textbooks there is and get all the qualifications under the sun, but if you're not adapting to your target customers it's useless and I find it utterly bonkers there's not a senior, experienced person in that role. What's he done? A few bits at Bournemouth who have a garden shed of a ground to fill in a completely different area, predominantly in the premier league. Completely different ball game to us. It angers me that behind the scenes the club lacks passion or ideas, the only person who seems to have anything resembling that is commercial and partnerships manager Yasir Sufi. His focus seems more on diversity though and he can't do everything. Get a few more driven people like him in and we might actually get somewhere.
-
It absolutely might yes i agree. We've got a marketing department who are paid to find things like this out though. I'm exactly the type of ex season ticket holder they should be targeting but they simply can't be arsed. It's very narrow minded (and also wrong) to pass it off as 'fact' that the price is the sole reason people don't get a season ticket just cos matty effing blue says so though. I was paying 4.75 a pint whilst out yesterday enjoying the sun, did I think it was expensive? Yes, did I still pay it? Also yes.
-
How about just scrap season tickets completely. If you're an interested fan you're issued with a membership card, said card is linked to your bank account. You scan it upon entry and the cash is automatically taken. You also use this card to buy refreshments etc. You don't have an allocated seat, you just turn up and sit with your mates where there's space, pretty much like most away games. All games are charged at 20 quid regardless.

Pears/ Kaminski.. summer plans?

Someone very high up at the club, far too high most would say.... I think you can probably guess who from that. -
Pears/ Kaminski.. summer plans?
Ossydave replied to NeilInBristol's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Massively concerned about the keeper situation personally. I think Kaminski is definitely our best keeper, my worry now is that Pears becomes first choice, Kaminski leaves, then complacency kicks in for Pears. Don't get me wrong he's done slightly better than expected, but he still had to fight for his place then. Maybe I'm being a little harsh I guess. I have heard Kaminski has thrown the toys right out of the pram though which tarnishes his reputation a bit (although I kinda get why he feels that way). -
In fairness the season has finished and there's not a great deal for the media team to be doing, yet. Apart from perhaps making a video with Birdy telling everyone to buy a season ticket.....see now a Brereton Diaz video probably doesn't sound so bad does it? He was obviously well liked at the club amongst the players and staff so it's no surprise to see this video either.....

Thats quite remarkable having a 24 year old in a 'head of' role - I bet his salary doesn't reflect that type of role though. There was a Marketing Assistant role advertised recently which I looked at to be nosey about the salary but it wasn't mentioned, it'll be another on the cheap though. The below are listed as some of the responsibilities (for this junior role): To conduct competitive research and analyse benchmarking data against best practice (LOL) To utilise marketing analytic techniques to gather important data for strategic decision-making (also LOL) Identify database growth opportunities to increase our reach (this is getting silly now) Analyse the supporter database to identify opportunities for better communications and engagement with supporters (I think you get the picture by now) So there you have it........

Would be nice to go on a bit of a tour round somewhere decent in Europe, Holland, Germany, not too fussy!

The financial services industry is absolutely booming, BNPL, Klarna and the like. A "take 3" offer. 3 payments of 100 pounds due by the end of August to pay for a 300 pound season ticket. Does anyone genuinely think that wouldn't work? What is the response to your comments? Is he just coming back with "we'll look into it" ?
-
The timings of the price increases show just how out of touch not only swag but the whole of the club are. I guess ultimately its down to him but surely there's people that work there that can point the basics out?!?! Many families out there will have an eye on their summer holiday and its around now that many of them are paying the outstanding balance which is approaching the deadline to pay it. Money is tight, folk have priorities! For little reasons like this, you will always get some late purchases when people return from holidays, but why the hell are they being penalised for doing so? So which one is it? Are they too oblivious to modern family life OR do they simply not give a fuck?
