  1. as far as tickets go- I dont want to panic anyone but i am concerned- a source at the club (i cant name) has stated people will only get tickets (we have 730 odd) with travelling the official ways surely this cant be so and tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders?
  2. we are flying into munich on the wednesday- can anyone tell me 1- how long train journey is and how often does it travel? 2- how much!!! 3- do you need to book train tickets and if so, which site do you get them on? cheers in advance, see you lot out there!
  3. We have just booked Manchester - Munich wed 13th , return Friday 15th very late to manchester. 2 nights in salzburg 3 star hotel, all for £310 in. Flights were £219 with bmi, hotel £45 per night. Cant wait!!
  4. definately! why can't we just go back to normal fans singing?!?!?!?! it seems to work for ever other club! (and the all seating ewood was far better atmospher pre drummers than post) somebody will be suggesting going back to playing that stupid "goal" music next
  5. I think it will (and should be) away season ticket holders and then season ticket holders first. if there is any left then general sale. cant wait for this one!
  6. not proud of it by any means, but having sat in the bburn end lower ever since the new stand was built i have seen plenty of away fans get a real smacking- Man Utd & celtic games spring to mind when a few of their fans got plenty of slaps and ended up being dragged out the BBurn end. Also remember a few Bolton fans getting a hiding in there too.
  7. Not at all, we didnt have the drummers for the first few years of the new ewood, and the atmosphere was far far better than it is now and actually had some good football songs sung, not the pathetic "du du du get it em". Admittedly rovers were doing very well then, but the drummers have been responsible for the reduction in the variety of songs without a doubt. It would take quite a few games without the drummers to get the crowd to realise they have gone and start getting the atmosphere going, but ANYTHING, i repeat ANYthing must be better than those embarrassing drummer boys. We need a campaign to get the Blackburn end back to what it used to be. (ignore the terracing debate!)
  8. we know that andrew, and its very frustrating but Rovers have a "hardcore" now of anything from 11,000 to 14,000 ish- the floating thousands would rather watch it in a pub for many many reason, banter/£35 per ticket/good atmosphere etc. Rovers are losing these on mass, and i am the only one who has noticed that even at the blackburn end the number of empty rows at the front are creeping up an up. Tomorrows crowd will be a shocker too i think, and although the pub goers arent proper fans, they are crucial to the future of the club if we can get them back.
  9. sat in the JW upper last night (near blackburn end) for first time, and the lads at the back of the blackburn end were getting a few songs going, until the drumming buffoon started banging away at completely the wrong time. I have to say i was cringing when he was banging away. Get rid. Immediately.
  10. i spoke to an ex season ticket holder today, who lives 5 mins walk from a well known boozer (that shall remain nameless) in Clatyon le moors. He gave his and his other 3 season tickets up 2 years ago and walked on the games he fancied the last 2 seasons- I asked him if he was going on wednesday and his reply was "im going down the pub, i watched pompey away there and i can watch every single rovers game down there too- i have 4 pints, spend a tenner, have the crack with the boys and stroll home. I prefer doing this than paying £35 to que up in traffic for an hour after the game!" now i know all the arguments about him not being a proper fan etc, and i agree, i could never not have a season ticket- but Rovers need these floaters badly and it looks like for the future they are not going to come back to Ewood.
  11. Pomey 0 Rovers 1 (Roberts 72) scrappy game. come on rovers
  12. cant wait for this one, the away trip is either going the be the 14th or the 28th. there is 14 of us lads planning to go, where ever it is. The good thing about the eufa now is if we get through this round, then we get into that group stage where we are guarenteed 2 away games! bring it on!! anyone know the date/time of the draw?
  13. If the drummer boys were removed then sure the atmosphere would take a hit for a couple of games, but eventually it would get back to what it should be- people singing proper football songs not crap like "bang bang bang get into em". In my opinion, they are an embarrassment to the club and a point of ridicule for most other footy fans- so many times i have spoken to supporters of opposition teams, and the first thing they mention is how embarrassing the drummers are! I have absolutely nothing against them personally, and know they would bleed blue and white. They are only trying their best to help the atmosphere at ewood, but lets at least give it 1 season without them?!?
  14. Thunderstruck ....by AC/DC. that has an absolutely fantastic build up opening, could get the crowd clapping along etc. Final countdown is also a winner, bring it back for good old times! we had it for so many years during the early premiership days, to me it always reminds me of rovers to this day anytime i hear it.
  15. quite simply i dont think the red and grey go together at all, and i dont like the collar. Therefore in my opinion it looks crap. I bought the lonsdale kit last year, and was not impressed with the quality. It seems we have massive support for the red and black away kit every year, please can we bring this to the attention of the rovers in some way!!
  16. the black and red 1994-95 kit was pure quality! why dont they ever do us a red and black halved away kit?!? It would look like a traditional rovers kit then the new away kit is yet another one i am not going to buy because personally it looks crap.
  17. "Turf Morgue" a term which means that despite the small number of people through the turnstiles, you should add 10,000 more on to the actual number when ever you make a reference to it. "Burnleys Wonderful history"- despite winning only 3 trophies in over a centuary of football, dingles refer to the myth that have a wonderful history and are one of Englands finest clubs.
  18. Mild is unfortunately a dying breed- with most of the big boys having dropped the name- Chestnut mild is now branded Manns Chestnut and the rest of them are starting to follow. (Indeed i think Thwaites Dark mild is now branded Thwaites Dark smooth) For me you cant beat a good pint of Theakstons Best, theakstons XB or Old Peculiar, or even things like Directors. It will be keg only at ewood, and give me John smiths smooth over thwaites "wouldnt wash my car in it" smooth anyday But its all about personal taste
  19. i know the club has to get the best deal possible, but i have to agree that generally thwaites ale is absolute sh**e. If they try and put Kaltenberg Hell on (which they cant give away) it will be me staying longer in the local pubs. You will not get things like thoroughbred and lancaster bomber on (which are their only decent ales imo) - it will be thwaites smooth which for me is a poor copy of John Smiths Extra Smooth, and the other smooths. however, we all have individual tastes The problem thwaites will find is that generally all ale at footy concourses is crap- due to infrequent use and plastic glasses
  20. 3 of us are going to frankfurt 9-13th, then nurenburg and finally cologne- I cant wait for this trip, we went to every england game in both France98 & Euro2004 and it is juts unbelieveable. germany will be no different, England will turn each game into a home game with at least 75% of every stadium. The numbers that travel from England always amazes me, and the level of support is just phenomenal. This country is footy baonkers and there is nothing like a world cup- Bring it on!!
  21. there is 3 of us Roverites going to Frankfurt, 9th june to 13th, then nurenberg 13-17th with a cheeky night in amsterdam on way home. Cant wait for this now, we have no tickets but are going to chance it and probably watch it in the beerkellers/tents etc come on england!
  22. i know four lads who pick and chose their games, who all watched it live in the woodlands for the cost of a pint or two.
  23. that its the crappest stand? typical though, the stand that faces the camera will be empty and the others full-ish. : i know its been mention a thousand times, but there is no wayi believe they cant build a strenghtened gantry on the riverside roof. anyway, starting to buzz now, come on you super blues!!!!!
  24. fantastic report, and a big well done to all involved. someone mentioned about a crack down to make sure the pubs around blackburn aren't showing the games on the foreign chanels- i agree completely, i know 4 ST holders that now pick and choose games, but get to watch a large amount of them down the pub. Also, when a game is on Sky, we automatically seem to drop a couple of thousand fans off the gate, for example tomorrow night, if it wasnt on Tv i am pretty sure we would have come a lot closer to a home sell out. It may be a stupid idea, but is there nothing the club could do to entice fans to come to televised games- maybe £5 off a ticket or a fiver to spend in shop etc? # This would have to work with ST holders too( obviously), they could maybe get £5 back or maybe £5 knocked off next home cup games? and just being selfish, no drummer please and a singing section.
