  1. Argentina didn't play a single ball player in the middle of the park. They couldn't build or dominate possession. So they were stuck with a bunch of attackers not getting the ball and subsequently drifting out of position to come and get it. At one point Messi dropped between the centre backs to receive the ball! At the same time Sampoali was to arrogant to have them sit back, the side didn't press the opposition and didnt have anyone who could put a foot on the ball in the middle of the pitch. Modric and Rakatic must have been creaming themselves. On top of this the two wing backs had no interest in defending so Croatia had 3 up top against 3 at the back. Sampaoli then once the argies are 1 - 0 down decides to bring on dybala for a midfield player. This was the only time Argentina were regaining a foothold then he ruined it as dybala was just up top and drifting so they became overrun in midfield again. The funny thing is Argentina have a few central midfield playmakers who simply weren't on the pitch. With the players at his disposal that was the most dismal set up of a side I've ever seen in my entire life. Made even worse by him posing with his tattooed guns out in a stupidly tight t-shirt at the end. He's a nob. Aguero at the end storming out saying the manager can say what he wants, he doesn't care. He needs to be sacked now and Argentina hope for a miracle.
  2. Paul Hurst appointed new Ipswich manager. I think this could trigger a mass exodus from Shrewsbury.
  3. Ricardo Carvalho. Titles with Chelsea and Madrid. Champs league with Porto
  4. What has happened with Gary Speed has left me like many others quite distressed. Every football fan or at least a vast majority have had dreams of walking out onto the pitch for their team. Scoring that winning goal at Wembley. Living the dream and etching your name into the history of your club. As a result we all feel a connection with many footballers, especially with those of Gary Speeds ilk. A deep association of what his life may have been like and ultimately, what your life (or at least your fantasy life) could have been like. For me it brings back memories of seeing what happened to Marc Vivien-Foe on the pitch for Cameroon. Personally I worked incredibly hard in my quest to become a footballer. Ultimately I didn't make it but thinking about how hard he must have worked to achieve his dream, then having everything snatched away from him in such a cruel manner saddens me deeply. There are many terrible things which happen in the world but I feel I naturally empathize (rightly or wrongly) slightly more easily with these deaths, just through the joint association of a love for football and that dream. Now obviously what has happened with Gary Speed is a very different scenario but that association I feel still remains. That feeling that in some obscure way you knew him and the path he took. As I said for him to then take his own life I find highly distressing. Personally I am yet to truly come to terms with my own mortality. I imagine it will be a very long time coming too but it is in my opinion a path which everyone must take. I am not ashamed though to admit the thought of death still scares me and seeing such a familiar face such as Gary Speed pass away has definitely had an impact upon me. Forcing me to think about that aspect of life which I so often avoid. It remains incomprehensible to me how he has felt this was his only way out. For this to have happened is in every sense a tragedy. I disagree with anybody gossiping as to the nature of his death (as I have found in the "real world"). What everybody can agree on though, is that Gary Speed seemed a good man. He does not deserve his name to be tainted and personally feel it should be lain to rest. Depression is a very misunderstood condition which sadly even in the modern society which we live continues to take lives. Gary Speed. I truly hope that in some sense your soul has found peace.
  5. Hi Phillip. Is there any chance you could send me the mortgage document. blaw1988@googlemail.com

Would be much appreciated. Ps thanks for your insight into matters at the club of late.

  6. How has nobody mentioned Rome. By far the most fantastic programme I have ever watched. I've never been one for repeatedly watching DVDs but I have watched Rome over and over again. Absolutely obsessed. Blood, gore, sex, brilliant acting and story lines aplenty.
  7. I know he is basically playing that team. I think you misunderstood what I was saying/I did not word it correctly. The issue I was speaking of is the lack of leadership the team seems to have. Kean is not a motivator of men. The players do not seem to be walking onto the pitch with fight in their hearts, fight which I have seen them have under previous management/regimes. Anyone remember Samba heading the ball on the floor to stop a certain goal and taking a kick to the head for his troubles Colin Hendry style. I am not seeing this. Kean is not motivating them. Yes you could argue they should be willing to bleed for the shirt anyway but the simple matter is that is not the way the world works. I don't think Kean has them united and I believe the spirt although still there in a sense is gradually dying. They need leadership. So brilliantly demonstrated as something Kean lacks by his silence on the touchline during matches. No words of encouragement and no direction in the tactics within the game. Tactics is not only about the players picked in which positions but also about reacting to what is happening during a game. Kean may do all the tinkering he wants on the training ground in the week leading up to every game, but in the heat of a game he looks like a rabbit in the headlights.
  8. Looking at that side it beggers belief that we are where we are. It contains quality and is far superior than any team in or around us. Looking at a side like that actually provides me with a little belief. All we need is a little leadership and not that f***wit Kean in charge. In terms of the City game though I believe Nzonzi is still suspended.
  9. Watched Brazil vs Argentina U20's last night. Very entertaining though neither side especially Brazil had any concern whatsoever for their defence. And I thought we were playing very open lol. Made for a truely entertaining game though with attack followed by attack. One player that really caught my eye though was Juan Iturbe for Argentina. Great skill and dribbling ability and I seem to recall the commentator stating he was only 17. Really refreshing to watch though.
  10. Disappointing. Although I've only had a couple of listens so I've not given it a chance to grow on me yet. I was hoping so much that they would revert back to the more original and raw sound of their earlier albums not the commercial stuff they've dishing out more recently. Not holding out too much hope though having heard that. It just frustrates the hell out of me to hear all the critics giving Black Holes and revelations so so much praise and saying the band have come of age and that this is their best music to date. GRRRR They have taken massive steps backwards. The more commercial sound has made them loose something which was the reason they were such a great band in the first place. The music has lost some of its passion and heart. A band that used to be able to take you on a roller-coaster of emotions in one song which with each listen became more meaningful and almost like a part of you are now releasing music which after a couple of listens you think, hmmm thats a catchy tune but which eventually bores you. Sorry rant over
  11. Even though we lost today (yesterday) i think the performance was definatly the most important thing this being due to the slashed ticket prices and good turnout. Hopefully in the longterm the performance will help to entice a few more supporters back to Ewood. Im sure many will disagree but i personally think that under the circumstances (having a high attendance) that i would rather take a loss and a good performance like todays rather than a very boring (typical Bolton) game which i was expecting and getting something from it. Also rover the moon
  12. ----------------------Robinson------------------------ Neville--------Terry-------Ferdinand--------A.Cole ----------------------------Carrick-------------------- ---------------Beckham------------------------------- ---------Gerard--------Lampard--------J.Cole------ ---------------------Rooney--------------------------- The players in blue indicate them having more of a free role. This formations pretty much based on Chelsea's current formation except allowing our flair players more freedom. With carrick being the ball winning midfeilder and dictating the play along with beckham when we have possesion. With those two sitting back it will allow Lampard, Gerard and Joe Cole more freedom when going foreward to link up with Rooney. Out of those three i would like to see Lampard sit back slightly more than the other two as otherwise we would look slighly vunerable. When not in possession of the ball and needing to defend a lead etc ----------------------Robinson------------------------ Neville--------Terry--------Ferdinand--------A.Cole -----------------------Carrick------------------------- Beckham-------Gerard-------Lampard-------------- -----------------------------------------J.Cole-------- ------------------------Rooney----------------------- Of course this is all dependent on the fitness of Rooney but should he not be im sure as much as i dislike the guy we could use Crouch up there to try and link it up with the supporting players.
  13. was soooo funny when he kicked dugarry up the arse though
  14. do you think you could send me the pedersen 1. and also if you have a matt jansen 1 would you be able to send me that 1. if so would be much appretiated thanx. imo nelson is this seasons stead. bargin of the transfer window looks like he will be a rock in our defence for years to come. he also has a fair bit of time on his side considering he is a centre back
  15. yea we moved down here about 8 years ago. is a bit dull down here miss watchin rovers play at ewood but go up and watch them 2 or 3 times a season then go too southampton pompey and london games. its ok here in the summer though as i have the beach 5 mins away. bet you had fun that year did you by any chance camp at Mill Rythe Holiday Village as i have a part time job there.
  16. Nelson looks absolutly class. him and todd look like they could be a great pairing. and by the way i think todd is class. i would like to see nelson up against some strikers with real pace though as he doesnt look the quickest. hope that doesnt prove to be his downfall but so far so good. the future is gradually starting to look up for us with a solid defence (well central defence) and pedersen playing how he is. few more good signings from sparky in the summer and next season could be a good one
