It is all about opinions but Botham opens the bowling with Jimmy, Jimmy highest wicket taker has to be in the side. Botham always used to in his prime so very happy with those two Stokes and Flintoff first change with Underwood to come and Root if required Flintoff would have a partner in the number 8 or below, easily knock off a quick 100. Jimmy and Underwood would never need to bat with the 9 above them

its garbage ECB should have invested in T20 Blast, at least they have a supporter base

I started watching in the 80's Gooch Cook Gower Root Pietersen Stokes Botham Stewart (WK) Flintoff Underwood Anderson Boycott (too slow a scorer ) Willis, Knott, Broad and Lamb in the squad Best openers, 3 best all rounders Stokes playing when he could bowl , 4 brilliant new ball bowlers, best spinner, Stewart edges Knott for his batting, 1-9 brilliant batsmen

Another awesome Eng Batting display today If the weather does not save the convicts, Oval will be a cracker and we would be favourites

Confess I went to this as got a ticket at face value on Friday, city always been my second team, rovers were in Div 3 1975 when i started going so always supported city especially as older brother a rag, was at 1976 league cup final...1989 day of hillsborough and simon garner record was rovers all the way and always am when they meet City were a bit below par ( KDB, Grealish, Dias and Rodri not played for 4 games) Will be better next week for the game I hope But FA Cup final crossed off the bucket list (shame not rovers) and a Manchester Derby made it more special Some things never change Utd fans were not a pleasant bunch but could hardly hear them PS City's net spend last 5 years places them 5th, Utd & Liverpool always bought, everyone does to be successful, even us in 94/5

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
berkshireblue replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Dack is a legend but the right decision never the same player since injuries, in a high tempo press he is too overweight and slow He will do a job but not in our style of play, shame Hope he does not become a Deli Ali Would liked to have seen him no. 9 last few games when we needed goals But trust the manager he sees training every day -

In summary, none of the play off teams will survive the Prem We have the youngest squad, keep the manager, buy a striker and a couple of decent loans, youngsters will be a year stronger and we might just be happy this time next year Last min goals v Sunderland, PNE and Cov did us As long as we learn we can come back stronger -

Nothing will ever compare to the hurt of Palace away, the game, the away corner, forgetting where the car was parked, the long drive back to Lancs... -

I got interviewed for TV outside the Football Store in Carnaby Street that week, the reporter mentioned something about Gary Lineker and I said he should have signed for Blackburn Rovers, he looked at me like I was an alien, obviously had not ehard the rumour -

My son was born in Oxford so supports OUFC, with BRFC his second team So I saw Derek many times pre Covid as number 2 at Oxford, he is still there in a supportive capacity but no longer on the bench Glen Keeley I sat next to on a flight back from Japan a few years ago, he does some coaching of under privileged kids. -

To be fair, I did not run on, after the pitch invasion had happened I merely walked on , had a photo and departed. However you are inaccurate, the team came back out and they celebrated in front of the supporters, perhaps you left early and missed that. As much as I deplore pitch invasions, after Steve Kean, 2 relegations and Venky ownership, an impromptu outpouring of emotions can be forgiven. Its called life and happiness -

Why was it ruined? That sounds a slight grumpy exaggeration People ran onto the pitch ( me included , excepted I walked from the home stand) celebrated and left, managing to walk into the bar at hospitality via the Directors Box on the way back The rovers team came out and fans stayed in the stand and everyone celebrated, happy days -

I would be tempted to keep Sammie up top Play JRC in Midfield in front of Britain... A draw not a disaster with Luton already int he play offs they may rest a couple Scaremongering anyone would think armed Russians were coming to town FA Cup replay there were 8k dingles and police had it under control No Burnley fans will be in rovers end, get the tickets and support the boys , its a massive game -

Not only did we pass Swansea coaches at one the services with a bridge linking north to south there was a big scrap over the motorway both my brothers were on a coach that stopped at the services and the majority went across to confront the jubilant Welsh I was too young to be allowed to go in hindsight best we never achieved back to back promotions was an ageing team and 1992 had a much better outcome -
