  1. Got home at 12.30am, a record time of 2 hrs 20 mins...but worth all the effort .. The atmosphere for the last 5 mins was electric..even in the Jack Walker We're all going on a European Tour - Sept 14th first leg I believe
  2. Asked the question to one of the directors in the Directors box at Charlton on Saturday.. Injury prone and lives a lifestyle not of a premiership footballer was the reply... Head must rule heart!
  3. What can i say.. Was working overseas so had flown back from West indies for last 2 games , barcodes at home and this one.. Arrive in Liverpool Saturday night...out on the town until early hours..after living on a caribbean island 9 miles long with 1 road for a year, the scantilly dressed scouse birds were a cultural shock! Walking to the ground scousers kept coming up to me in my Rovers shirt slagging off the Mancs.. Get to my seat in the corner of the kop and centenary stand...surreal atmosphere as game kicked off, nobody wanted the home team to win! Big Al scores but the team look tentative and as you know the scallies pull one back..Scousers forget the manc factor and start chearing their team on... Free kick hits the back of the net..an empty feeling hits my stomach, so close so far, disbelief..then joy, is this really happening? am I dreaming...run on to the pitch, get swiftly returned to stand.. " congrats mate dont worry we will win it bac off you next year" dream on scouser still waiting... walk back to the car, people shaking my hand as though I'm a film star, had promised my fiancee I'd be back in Sussex that night as been up north since the barcode game a week ago.... What do I do..just got engaged, she hates football, back to Blackburn for a night to remember or drive back to Brighton? Make the call - tears at the other end..###### better drive back...play we are the champions the whole way back...meet some mancs at a service station near warwick, a wry smile as I meet their eye...the cashier says congratulations... Back in Sussex around 10pm.. She was an ex wife before the turn of the century and I missed the best night in rovers history...Big mistake not to go out in town but a great day! First person I see in the lanes in brigthon the next day is wearing a rovers shirt, we shake hands knowing the little mill town dun good!
  4. Lee Surprised Charlton sold out - on sky and meaningless fopr them - is it cheap tickets? I'm sorted luckily in Directors Box as one of their directors is a fellow regular at a London pub! 2-0 bellamy and Reid
  5. Defintelty going to this one and predict a WIN!!!!!!
  6. This should be the higgest attendence of the season, just under 8,000 scallies, a decent kick-off time, a holiday weekend and only 2 more home games with Europe beckoning , I would be disappointed if under 27,000.. 2-0 Bellamy and Bentley due one PS Any rovers fans in Blackpool know a good driver? I need a car to take me to Ewood and back from Blackpool where I am staying for Easter , in hospitality so dont want to risk driving..
  7. Martin O Neill without a doubt... He's won trophies - 2 cups with LCFC - where are they now Numerous with Celtic and a European Final.. Best tactician, media man and man motivator on the short list.. E Fife have to disagree with you Robson and Butcher would be a disaster, would send the dressing room to sleep Would be a disater if the barcodes get O Neill and not England
  8. Thought yesterday's home area attendence was the biggest of the season...Arsenal following was poor.. If we keep on winning the rest of the season will see a home increrase!
  9. Just about to leavenow - a tricky one it will be 2 - 0 either way depending which Arse turn up
  10. Joey Playing Peter and Pedersen is a liability, also Reid has been our best player recently and should definitely start....
  11. I was at that game too....sat in the cricket field stand, when garner scored loads jumped up and a brawl followed.. I was due to go on a coach from Waterside, Darwen but it was full so went by car and mingled in with the Dingles as away end full.. The coach arrived late and they were put in the old beehole end, hence the melee you referred to.. Outside was a warzone and I remember one dingle with a Burnley FC union jack tied around his neck draped over his shoulders..giving it large A couple of hours later on the way back driving thro Rishton he was on the side of the road walking with some other zeros when a car full of Rovers stopped and steamed into him right in front of us..
  12. Friday night and just got home from Wed's game as been away with work.. 2 things to say which may or may not have been mentionned; 1) A great half time sub from Hughes; Taking of Tugay ( not playing great on a yellow card ) bring on Emerton ( speed on the break as they would come at us at 3 - 1 ) moving Reid in the centre ( bundles of energy and playing like a man possessed at the mo ) 2) Are you Burnley in disguise
  13. Home 3 Away 3 definitely... Home 3 only one with PROPER BLUE AND WHITE HALVES Away 3 RED always our away colour in the 70's and 80's and a colour more associated with the club, red rose, Lancashire and hints of red often on home kits
  14. I think a lot of us Southern based fans are going to the game, so not sure about London pub, check with Tris
  15. Great result...forward now needed, I am sure Sparky has someone in mind after off loading 3 high wage earners already.. Zurab and Nelsen at the back and non conceeded away from home! mmh
  16. Bing The bald guy looks like a rovers fan who is always at away games but it is not him, its the notlob scum
  17. Also have to disagree with Will the support last time was brilliant.. That was also the utd view, on their messageboard they stated that the rovers support 6000 was louder than the 9000 south coast muppets who had been there the previous week in the FA cUp 3rd round namely Pompey
  18. Den Dont get be wrong he was not bad, its just his movement and reading of the game is not as good as last year and I believe Zurab and Nelsen when they have played together are a better pairing, I have not seen the statistical evidence, maybe Phil in Malta can produce it as he seems to have lots of time from another post can rattle some up.. I am sure they´ve conceeded fewer goals than when Todd´s played Peter Jackson I think gave Toddman of the match
  19. Probably an unpopular topic, but being in Seville for the game last night rather than at Ewood I had the bad fortune to be able to watch loads of replays of certain incidents on Sky, and I think Todd´s anticipation and movement for not only Saha´s goal but also some of Rooney´s chances was poor, couple that with his red card liability, always a worry in big games, and the fact that Rovers´s best displays this season have been with Zurab and Nelsen at centre back I think now is the time to make Admiral captain ( though his distribution last night was supect ) and play Zurab alongside him.. Todd was great last year and I was a big fan, but he has not been as good this season and is often found out against quick forwards ie Semi v Arsenal at Cardiff... A great player as back up and on the bench, but how he was man of the match last night I will never know.. Like Kuqi , if we want to be in the top 6 and reach cup finals Todd cant be in our strongest 11
  20. Tris sounds promising I'll try and convert a few more tonight come on you blues
  21. On hols in Seville, Spain and just found an Irish bar by the Cathedral showing tonights game, bet I´m the only rovers fan in there come 9pm but I´ll be the only one smiling.. 2-0 rovers Back for notlob Saturday
  22. Not a draw of choice but some positives: 1) revenge for opening day 2) Winnable even if after a replay 3) West ham always have a big crowd even if on TV so good revenue for the club after 12k gate v QPR Confident we will be in the 5th round
  23. Tood-take-Tyson While i am not a Reid Big Fan, when he has played in central midfield from the start he has performed well this year - ie Charlton at home So away from home we need the energy and bite of Reid when we are playing both MGP and Bentley in midfield, with Emerton's energy instead of Bentley Tugay & Savage is sufficient..But with bentley on the right Reid is the only call with Tugay suspended
  24. Who is this Vinjay t@@ser! Suggest he crawls back to Dingle land and has a happy new year with his relatives
