Could be wrong but it seemed to me that Tevez was offside, he punched the ball and it didn’t cross the line, but the goal stood, turns out he was also ineligible to play, nothing dodgy about that then.

Aside from his fitness and play I was very encouraged by the fact that, whilst others were off the pace and flagging in the first half, he seemed to take some responsibility for the team perfomance. He tried to motivate the team by example and by encouraging his team-mates. I wouldn't want to speak too soon, but if he continues to improve his fitness/performances and also becomes more of a leader on the pitch his own game will improve and he could become a real assett to the team. here's hoping.........

Absolutely give him a bit of time, he's got great pace and awareness but its stupid to expect him to play like a superstar after just a few minutes of Prem football. Even the best ,most experienced, players need time to settle into this league and while he does it wouldn't hurt to be a little more optimistic and supportive than some of the posters on here. He's just got his goal vs Wigan hopefully the first of many, well done Matty Happy New Year
