The problem is the same 13/4 players have had to play for 2 months straight - regardless of form or fitness. Add to that we've had 2 games a week for a while, so the issue is compounded. Sport is often about momentum, when things start going bad for you, it's difficult to arrest that.

LOL, sacking. They've given him zero resources. Even this middling Hull team have blown us out of the water in the transfer market - they've spent over £10m this year and backed the manager massively last year too.

Personally I think Broughton is doing a fantastic job. Both he and JDT will go on to bigger and better things than this incarnation of Blackburn Rovers.

I've barely seen him play, so I can't judge, but JDT clearly doesn't like him.

I'd be surprised - have Bournemouth had a rash of injuries at CB? He's going to get far more playing time here than there. I assume it's just Broughton building for the future - they must really fancy this player to pay £500k for him when on paper he's no better than fourth choice this season.

Season done I'm afraid. No investment in the summer and a raft of injuries, coupled with a ridiculously congested fixture list has just killed us. The players are dead on their feet out there, it's painful to watch.

It's no coincidence that they've not offered him a new contract with only 6 months remaining on his deal - bet they can't wait to get him off the wage bill.

I actually reckon Rovers could be onto a good little earner if they offered out the bench places to sponsors. At least 3 of them every game at the moment are unplayable in the Championship, so why not get someone like Mercer kitted up for a couple of grand a match?

We're not going up and we're not going down. The season was over when the Summer Transfer Window slammed shut again without a First XI striker walking through the door. Today was just like watching a car crash in slow motion - one we watch every week at the moment and one everyone around me in the Jack Walker saw coming. We played Watford off the park, but they made 5 subs and changed the game with their energy. We made 2 planned subs for players returning from injury (Hyam / Ennis - Hill / Leonard)... and then our 3rd change was a bloke most of us can agree simply isn't up to this standard. Their GK was the clear MOTM btw - he made 3 absurd saves.

Mowbray pissed a substantial amount of money up the wall, unfortunately.

I knew I'd come back to people slating the GK. He made 3 excellent saves today - and the 2 goals he's made the initial save from difficult shots and his (tired) defenders have been second to the loose ball. If he was good enough to palm those wide / somehow smother them he'd be playing in the PL.

I'd be amazed if he's here come the summer. Broughton should be sounding out replacements now.
