  1. Your mate gave him a new 5 year contract...
  2. Yep, we're a very well drilled team now - players covering for each other, pressing as a team etc etc. Very quietly we're also becoming quite a cynical team, which after years of watching Mowbray's naive group is quite refreshing to see.
  3. Personally I hope he takes us to the Premier League and keeps us there, becoming our 10+ year talisman.
  4. I'm not sure where this need for a 'battling midfielder' has come from - we have Travis and Garrett for that role. We either need Buckley to pull his socks up or Wharton to be able to play 90 minutes. We're absolutely a different team when we have two ball playing midfielders on the pitch.
  5. He's been taken off early a lot recently - sadly, like Kaminski, he's one of our indispensable players and has to play when fit.
  6. Really professional performance that - looked really good going forward playing 4-2-3-1 (should have scored 2 or 3) and just shut up shop when we went to 3-5-2. Kaminski didn't have a save to make. JDT is such a shrewd manager.
  7. They've literally just given him a new 5 year contract - please stop with the conspiracy theories. JDT is firm, but fair - Buckley will get another chance when he's earned it.
  8. Where have they got 6 minutes from?!
  9. I wouldn't trust Gallagher's calves / hamstrings, he's always pulling up lame if he puts in a big shift for 90 minutes. JDT is managing him well at the moment. This is the best I've seen Vale play in a Rovers shirt.
  10. That's very harsh on Travis - clearly JDT doesn't think A. Wharton can play more than 60 minutes at this level right now.
  11. 60 minutes again for A. Wharton - and he looks disgusted to come off. We're battening down the hatches now - we're much, MUCH better with A. Wharton on pulling the strings. (Carter / Ayala on for A. Wharton and Dolan)
  12. Nah, it was a fine effort - drew another good save from their GK - but you have to score that as a starting #9 in this league.
  13. Gallagher HAS to score there.
  14. Good - I've seen enough of him trying to beat the same mine twice. The less pointless backheels to no-one in the centre circle when we're hanging on for the win the better. He needs to be more decisive and direct with his play - he has been so far this season.
  15. Brereton is WELL off the pace today. Still working his socks off, but nothing is coming off for him.
  16. Neil Yardley trying to get Kaminski into the Belgian World Cup squad - clearly not realising that this would mean we'd have to play Pears.
  17. He's alright. Third or fourth choice there, which is about right.
  18. Morton? Sadly that's not the rule anymore. He dove in and the follow through caught the Hull player.
  19. Morton is lucky to not receive a straight red there.
  20. We need a second now - Hull are growing into this game. Need to give ourselves some breathing room.
  21. On the rebound from the Szmodics shot? Won the ball I thought.
  22. We're so much better going forward in the 4-2-3-1 AND we're a much, MUCH better team with A. Wharton pulling the strings in midfield. Lovely finish by Szmodics - possibly should have scored earlier (although drew a good save from their GK), but made no mistake this time.
  23. Assuming it's a 4-2-3-1 today it's no surprise he's opted for Wharton and Morton as the 2 over Travis - he's not QUITE a good enough footballer to play there in that system when you're flying and looking to dominate games. In a midfield 3 he provides much needed energy and steel though. I think he's fine at RB, btw, especially if we get on the front foot.
  24. I guess he doesn't feel that Carter or Travis offer enough as a RWB to persist with the 3-5-2?
  25. I assume they're not pulling up any trees in the U21s or in training so he's not picking them.
