  1. Nah, it was a fine effort - drew another good save from their GK - but you have to score that as a starting #9 in this league.
  2. Gallagher HAS to score there.
  3. Good - I've seen enough of him trying to beat the same mine twice. The less pointless backheels to no-one in the centre circle when we're hanging on for the win the better. He needs to be more decisive and direct with his play - he has been so far this season.
  4. Brereton is WELL off the pace today. Still working his socks off, but nothing is coming off for him.
  5. Neil Yardley trying to get Kaminski into the Belgian World Cup squad - clearly not realising that this would mean we'd have to play Pears.
  6. He's alright. Third or fourth choice there, which is about right.
  7. Morton? Sadly that's not the rule anymore. He dove in and the follow through caught the Hull player.
  8. Morton is lucky to not receive a straight red there.
  9. We need a second now - Hull are growing into this game. Need to give ourselves some breathing room.
  10. On the rebound from the Szmodics shot? Won the ball I thought.
  11. We're so much better going forward in the 4-2-3-1 AND we're a much, MUCH better team with A. Wharton pulling the strings in midfield. Lovely finish by Szmodics - possibly should have scored earlier (although drew a good save from their GK), but made no mistake this time.
  12. Assuming it's a 4-2-3-1 today it's no surprise he's opted for Wharton and Morton as the 2 over Travis - he's not QUITE a good enough footballer to play there in that system when you're flying and looking to dominate games. In a midfield 3 he provides much needed energy and steel though. I think he's fine at RB, btw, especially if we get on the front foot.
  13. I guess he doesn't feel that Carter or Travis offer enough as a RWB to persist with the 3-5-2?
  14. I assume they're not pulling up any trees in the U21s or in training so he's not picking them.
  15. I reckon it's 4-2-3-1, which is what he's wanted to play all season, but hasn't had the players to.
  16. His distribution has been shocking and he's let in some howlers. I think he's a good Championship GK.
  17. Good job we're allowed to play a GK then isn't it? I'd expect a competent Championship GK to make most of the saves he's made in recent weeks.
  18. I mean after Hull cancelled our match with them last season at like 2.50pm, the line has been drawn in the sand I'm afraid. Coventry won't forfeit the match, they'll just play it at another venue at a different time - one that's no doubt inconvenient to Rovers and our fans.
  19. It's the same when we lose - the match thread is always much bigger than when we win. For some reason this message board thrives on doom and gloom.
  20. 2 minutes in the PL and a game in the EFL Cup. Silly boy should have been kicking and screaming to leave Brighton in the summer.
  21. No goalposts were shifted, I was always referring to the fact that Guardiola is a much more successful manager than Klopp.
  22. I genuinely think they're just protecting their asset with that new contract - they can't think he's a real option moving forward. Vale hasn't looked up to Championship standard in any of his appearances - he's neither quick or strong, getting brushed off the ball incredibly easily. Nor if he a particularly clever player with his movement - I can't comment on his finishing because he's never in the position to take a shot. He's linked up play quite well against Hartlepool and Bradford... but perhaps L2 is his level?
  23. No more 'shit' than usual, just no dominant team. The PL teams haven't dominated (Burnley, Watford, Norwich) and those still getting parachute payments haven't rebuilt properly either. Pre-season we expected Sheffield United and WBA to be strong with their additional funds, but one is floundering and the other is in the Playoffs without pulling away.
  24. Oh, I see. He's won two of those.
  25. If you go off Transfermarkt you've spent £21.67m + 5 undisclosed loan fees. Obviously along with subsequent wages. That's massive money in this division any way you slice it. Also you're on a Blackburn Rovers message board, of course we're going to hate you.
