  1. At this level it's a simple game played by simple men. At Guardiola's level it's a more complex game played by ... simple men.
  2. To be fair to Maguire, I liked the comment btl in the Guardian last night - Maguire never looks like an £80m CB when he's on the pitch, but he sure does when he's off it. That said, we were spoiled for choice at CB and CM under previous managers.
  3. Tony Kroos would like a word. He abused Alexander-Armstrong in the Champions League. I'd take Wan-Bissaka over any of the above four, but I don't fill out a waistcoat quite like Southgate does, so what do I know?
  4. I think the spine of the squad is weak, but you can get around that with certain formations. We've got a bevvy of attacking options thought - something we've lacked in the past.
  5. I think mainly because he's quite a poor defender. He's great going forward but I want my fullbacks to be able to defend first and foremost.
  6. He'll take Sterling, but arguably he shouldn't. He's massively out of form and we're not desperate for his pace given our other options in the final third these days.
  7. Not for mine. The spine is v weak. Dodgy keeper, poor CBs and no standout CMs.
  8. Ahahahaha. This lot couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. Imagine them jumping on this niche (but potentially lucrative) marketing opportunity.
  9. Fingers crossed Chile have a decent manager who realises he should be played centrally.
  10. If it helps your crusade - I'm not renewing my season ticket. Neither are my parents. That's three long term season ticket holders who have had enough of Mowbray and how the club is run in general.
  11. Sadly the club doesn't exist anymore. Just an empty shell.
  12. Yep, I've got zero time for Hodgson.
  13. Hughes isn't a dinosaur. He was on the bleeding edge when he managed us.
  14. Unless he doesn't want to be here.
  15. Glory supporters.
  16. Wilder would be sensational, but I fear the word is out that we're a basket case club. If you're any way established as a manager you'd steer well clear.
  17. Did you really just compare Armstrong to Shearer?! 🤣
  18. He scored 28 goals, 5 of those were penalties (he missed 3). It's a nice stat in isolation, but hardly outstanding. When you factor in the amount of attacks he ends and chances he wastes - let's just say he's not a PL striker in my eyes. If someone offered silly money (anything over £10m) I'm laughing all the way to the bank. For mine the team, hilariously, looked more threatening with Dolan playing at #9 as he ran his socks off. The team would absolutely look more balanced with Brereton or Gallagher playing as the #9 as at least they can hold the ball up (Gallagher less so than Brereton). Also why are you comparing the goal tallies of a Central Midfielder and 2 Wide Forwards (who are asked to track back) with a #9 who has free license? That seems odd.
  19. It's heartbreaking, isn't it?
  20. I'd rather keep Rothwell and sell Armstrong.
  21. Which I think translates to Rothwell has told them where to go and wants out. Fair play to the lad. He's better than this shite show.
  22. Fingers crossed the new guy they signed from PNE rectifies that. No excuse for missing the talent in your back yard.
