  1. Why do you feel the need to take all the credit away from our performance? We mullered them. It was the same calibre of performance we've been putting in for months - Ben Brereton-Diaz decided to show up and we won - fancy that, a goalscorer making the difference.
  2. Honestly if we had a goal scoring #9 we'd be comfortably in the playoffs. If we had a quality wide player to go with it we'd be pushing for automatic promotion.
  3. Honestly we were the much better side all game - we gifted them two goals and the third (their first) should have been dealt with as it was a throw-in.
  4. Why? He clearly can't get around the pitch anymore. He's been a very good player for us - a legend of the last 12 years (my how far we've fallen), but he can't play in this system.
  5. The system needs two ball-playing CMs to properly work (and two athletic FBs that basically play as WBs) - it's no wonder we looked better with two CMs that can pass in there.
  6. Hedges and Dolan are useful squad players. Szmodics is a very good player at this level - he needs runners around him.
  7. I'd like to at least finish on equal points to last year.
  8. Mainly because he has a far more talented squad. Obviously he had nothing to do with assembling it and had a huge hand in assembling ours, but that's football for you.
  9. A wonder goal scored by the loanee he had nothing to do with. Isn't football cruel?
  10. Brereton-Diaz is as soft as they come - he's hidden out wide for 6 months running down his contract. What makes you think he's going to be up for a battle at #9 against two big CBs?
  11. You've more faith in our recruitment team than I do after January.
  12. I'm sorry, that's before my time - but you're kidding yourself if you think yellow cards aren't handed out like confetti these days.
  13. I'm glad he's trying JRC elsewhere - he shouldn't be keeping Brittain out of this team at RB. It also provides us with two ballplayers at CM for the first time this season, which is what this formation actually asks for.
  14. Mowbray was determined to turn him into a Poundland Savage and he succeeded. Yes, if we're looking to generate funds for a rebuild he'd be on my list of players to move on - he doesn't fit this system, he isn't good enough on the ball.
  15. It means he's a cheat - which invariably means he's a bad person.
  16. We need 3 new starting players in that front 4 (Szmodics keeping his place). Hedges and Dolan provide adequate depth and some realism in your rebuild (i.e. you can't get rid of everyone and we at least know they can play at this level). If you're getting ambitious you need a new LB and probably a CM to play alongside A. Wharton - but I doubt we have the funds for that. Personally I'd have Brittain back in at RB and find a position in that front 4 for JRC - that would solve one problem.
  17. Again, Carter felt the pressure and put the ball out for a throw-in so the defence could regroup. If you can't defend a throw-in that's a massive problem - nothing to do with playing the ball out of the box.
  18. Blatant diver from the look of this game - thrown himself to the floor several times already.
  19. Well that's a soft yellow card in their third if he makes that challenge (and then completely neuters him for the rest of the match) - I'm not Travis' biggest fan, but that goal isn't on him.
