  1. Wharton was comfortably the best player on the pitch - the only way they could get near him was when they fouled him. Which they did, repeatedly.
  2. Massively agree to disagree. The horror performances have disappeared. A competent striker would be well into double figures since January. Instead Brereton-Diaz has been on the fucking beach and we already know that Dolan / Hedges / Gallagher are never going to contribute enough goals to fire you up the table.
  3. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes I'm afraid. I have no sympathy for him.
  4. It's 4-2-3-1 I reckon, but the point still stands. Brereton-Diaz is on the beach and Dolan isn't a #9.
  5. As they should be. We don't have a recognised striker in the squad - and some would argue you could complain to Trading Standards if you listed Gallagher as one. The end of the season has been ruined by the World Cup - 8 games in a month for a squad as small as ours is just brutal. We're going to lose tonight and Burnley are going to 'win' the title at Ewood. Sadly as Rovers fans we're being punished for a crime we didn't commit - with no sign of it ending either.
  6. At the time he was one of the few players that could receive the ball in a tight space / with a man on his back and not lose it.
  7. I must be the only Rovers fan that can't wait for this season to end. We've limped to the finish line because we didn't bring in a striker in January - I just want the misery to end at this point and for the rebuild to begin. It's physically painful watching us play without a striker.
  8. Barely any players have come under JDT - that's the bloody problem. He needs to be given the opportunity to build his own team, rather than trying to pump life into Mowbray's rabble.
  9. I wonder whether if he could do it all again he'd make a different choice. Yes, he's wealthy, but he's had an awful career.
  10. No Leonard for the U21s today - I'm thoroughly confused.
  11. I'm not sure I can watch another game without a striker on the pitch.
  12. Even PNE have 3 strikers that would start in our team - it's galling.
  13. Yep, zero chance I'm rushing back from work to get to Ewood on Tuesday. Fuck. That.
  14. JDT scores that 1-on-1. He probably also doesn't fall on his arse and allow a free cross into the box. All on him though, right? I don't know how people can watch these same shit players make the same basic errors and blame the manager. He HAS to use them because there's nobody else (and sadly the starting XI aren't cyborgs and occasionally get injured / need a rest).
  15. It's difficult to take such a hard stance when there's nobody else - what are you going to do, put Walker out there against Burnley?
  16. We're just not good enough - that's shocking from Hedges and then S. Wharton.
  17. But not surprising - if Gallagher isn't on the pitch we're literally playing without a striker.
  18. That's a wonderful finish - but good god that was brilliant from Wharton to turn an error from Morton into an incisive attack.
