  1. The manager has literally come out and said the referee knows that's not a penalty - so he's going to get fined, that's how bad it was.
  2. The problem lies behind the strikers. They're getting very little service from the 3 in attacking midfield. Cantwell is clearly a sensational player at this level, but he can't do it on his own (he can't finish that sitter Weimann missed for example as he's the one that put him through). Ohashi and Gueye are a damn sight better than what we had last year. I'm hopeful Leonard can come back and contribute soon too.
  3. First bad game he's had I think. Still he got absolutely no service again.
  4. Hedges shouldn't be getting games for us - he offers absolutely nothing. I was desperate for the Godo deal to get over the line for this very reason - we need pace and the ability to go past a man and deliver a ball into the box. Hedges does neither. We're stuck rotating Dolan, Weimann and Hedges in that 3 behind the striker, it's no wonder we don't score many.
  5. I thought we played really well - they have bags of pace and power and we completely nullified them as an attacking force. It's a shame that Hyam and Weimann fluffed absolute sitters, but that's football. As for the ref - the less said the better. Absolutely never a penalty in a million years and it's decided the game.
  6. He's not had many shots to save. They've done a stellar job of protecting him this season.
  7. He made a couple of routine saves, but one of their chances was due to him not coming to claim the ball and the penalty appeal was because he didn't call for the ball and collided with Travis. He's a bad GK, but we also have 5 clean sheets so he'll be persisted with unfortunately.
  8. He wasn't getting to either of JRC's shots if they were on target and realistically Ohashi should have buried his chance.
  9. WBA's CBs were sat on our halfway line from the 10 minute mark. It usually takes the opposition 20 minute to work out we've got no ability to hit them over the top.
  10. Ohashi is similar to Leonard (although Leonard has a better touch and pass) - sub 6', not very quick, but a willing runner. They both need to play #10 (although I'd always have Cantwell here) or out wide off Gueye. Neither has the physical attributes to trouble a good CB, but their movement is good.
  11. He's never been played in his natural position and he doesn't have the physical attributes to play out wide. Similar to Markanday, really.
  12. He was bossed in the air by Hyam - I'll pass, thanks.
  13. He won multiple headers when he came on and caused their CB to have a panic attack with one long ball. He's clearly our best #9 and should start every game, he's a nightmare to play against at this level.
  14. Weimann had a hard shot blocked from close range (haven't seen the replay, so no idea if it was going in) and put in Dolan who tamely kicked it at the keeper. Sigurdsson isn't the man to bring on for 10 minutes of chasing the ball - I feel sorry for the lad, he's been shafted by us really.
  15. Several players were down on their haunches on Saturday and the same today. He needs to use Baker more for a start. Beck looked shattered at the end too - as much as I think he's lightyears better than Pickering, he has to be managed with 2 games a week.
  16. To be fair you've highlighted the problem (Hedges / Dolan / Weimann / Sigurdsson). The strikers are getting no service - granted Ohashi should have scored tonight.
  17. I haven't seen a single checker - do they try and catch late comers? Haven't been checked at either of the last two home games, but I get there about 15 minutes early most matches.
  18. I like Leonard, but no he doesn't. He's not big or fast enough to lead the line. I'd like to see him playing wide - I'd like to see Ohashi given a game out wide too with Gueye playing #9.
  19. That #2 is a diving cunt. Was on his arse all game. Embarrassing player.
  20. We're so much better defensively under Eustace. So well drilled. Their two big chances have come from Carter's injury (he had his man covered and just fell to the floor - suspect that's a real bad one) and Pears failing to come and collect an aimless pass forward. Going forward, well it's pace and height isn't it. Don't have either. He needs to give up on Cantwell wide left and just let him play centrally off Gueye.
  21. It's still far too early in the season to worry about what others are doing. Just accumulate points and see were you are in January. Granted there's no more funds coming to bolster the squad.
  22. That's just who he is as a manager - very pragmatic. He didn't say "I want to get to 50 points and call it a day", he said he wants to get to that target as quickly as possible. He obviously has aspirations of pushing on from there, but you've got to set milestones for the players - that's clearly a big one.
