  1. WBA's CBs were sat on our halfway line from the 10 minute mark. It usually takes the opposition 20 minute to work out we've got no ability to hit them over the top.
  2. Ohashi is similar to Leonard (although Leonard has a better touch and pass) - sub 6', not very quick, but a willing runner. They both need to play #10 (although I'd always have Cantwell here) or out wide off Gueye. Neither has the physical attributes to trouble a good CB, but their movement is good.
  3. He's never been played in his natural position and he doesn't have the physical attributes to play out wide. Similar to Markanday, really.
  4. He was bossed in the air by Hyam - I'll pass, thanks.
  5. He won multiple headers when he came on and caused their CB to have a panic attack with one long ball. He's clearly our best #9 and should start every game, he's a nightmare to play against at this level.
  6. Weimann had a hard shot blocked from close range (haven't seen the replay, so no idea if it was going in) and put in Dolan who tamely kicked it at the keeper. Sigurdsson isn't the man to bring on for 10 minutes of chasing the ball - I feel sorry for the lad, he's been shafted by us really.
  7. Several players were down on their haunches on Saturday and the same today. He needs to use Baker more for a start. Beck looked shattered at the end too - as much as I think he's lightyears better than Pickering, he has to be managed with 2 games a week.
  8. To be fair you've highlighted the problem (Hedges / Dolan / Weimann / Sigurdsson). The strikers are getting no service - granted Ohashi should have scored tonight.
  9. I haven't seen a single checker - do they try and catch late comers? Haven't been checked at either of the last two home games, but I get there about 15 minutes early most matches.
  10. I like Leonard, but no he doesn't. He's not big or fast enough to lead the line. I'd like to see him playing wide - I'd like to see Ohashi given a game out wide too with Gueye playing #9.
  11. That #2 is a diving cunt. Was on his arse all game. Embarrassing player.
  12. We're so much better defensively under Eustace. So well drilled. Their two big chances have come from Carter's injury (he had his man covered and just fell to the floor - suspect that's a real bad one) and Pears failing to come and collect an aimless pass forward. Going forward, well it's pace and height isn't it. Don't have either. He needs to give up on Cantwell wide left and just let him play centrally off Gueye.
  13. It's still far too early in the season to worry about what others are doing. Just accumulate points and see were you are in January. Granted there's no more funds coming to bolster the squad.
  14. That's just who he is as a manager - very pragmatic. He didn't say "I want to get to 50 points and call it a day", he said he wants to get to that target as quickly as possible. He obviously has aspirations of pushing on from there, but you've got to set milestones for the players - that's clearly a big one.
  15. I think everyone knows that Hedges has zero end product. I didn't even flinch from my seat when Carter set up Hedges at the start of the second half to blaze wide (fabulous angle, on his favoured left foot) - I knew it was never going in.
  16. Their fans are often pretty unhappy with their lot.
  17. The passing only broke down yesterday in the final third - i.e. because our complete lack of pace against a team playing a high line meant we had nowhere to go with the ball besides 25/75s (usually 50/50s, but Dolan running after anything is a negative).
  18. Well if we had Leeds' budget I'm sure we'd have banged more past Swansea.
  19. He'd have roasted Pickering. I bet he's glad to get back on the bus after playing Beck.
  20. Gueye had a tap in if Dolan rolls the ball across the goal instead of shooting. He had nothing to feed off today, again. We don't put any crosses into the box.
  21. The lack of pace is startling - they had a break from a corner (why Beck is taking corners and not sat as our deepest player I'll never know) in the second half and pretty much every single one of their players was outpacing ours as they all streamed into our half. You see it every game - after about 20 minutes teams realise we can't hurt them over the top so they play a high line and press us in our own half. We had multiple opportunities today to slide through a player / bang it over the top for someone to run on to, but Hedges / Dolan / Cantwell / Gueye / Ohashi / Weimann simply aren't quick enough for that style of play. Thankfully Eustace has set us up to be very difficult to beat.
  22. It's been Radio PNE for a long time.
  23. That's my team too, albeit I believe Brittain played for the U21s the other night so probably isn't available.
