  1. I think Broughton tried to do business in the January transfer window, he was just hamstrung by inept Senior Management (the Club Secretary or the CEO, take your pick) and his own naivety. Hopefully he learns from it as he's very inexperienced at the new role.
  2. The Armstrong money probably filled the hole left by the Gallagher and Brereton-Diaz transfers.
  3. Yes, that Sunderland squad is more talented than the squad Mowbray left behind.
  4. Wouldn't that be a thing - the manager allowed to sign a striker.
  5. I actually think Brereton-Diaz unbalances the side. With a good summer of recruiting (without spending much money on transfers) we won't miss him in the slightest - I just don't know if we're going to have that summer. There are much better players out there on frees and loans. We need 3 of them upfront to go alongside Szmodics.
  6. Massively agree to disagree. We absolutely battered them. Pears gifted them two goals, otherwise it would have been a rout.
  7. Nothing magic about a L1 GK not being able to stop anything. Brighton should be done for match fixing here. I'd be livid if I was in the relegation fight.
  8. I mean if we'd just had Amad Diallo on loan on the RW this season we'd be in the Playoffs.
  9. He's asked for caution and patience all season - partly to avoid the situation he finds himself in now with fans blaming him for failing to get into the Playoffs with a squad that isn't up to it. I'm very excited about next season if he stays and is backed - sadly it's Venky's Rovers so neither of those things will happen.
  10. He's never referred to us as 'little Rovers' - he's always been very forthright about the quality of the squad at his disposal. If anything he's talked us up as a great club with a fantastic history.
  11. Is Batty anywhere near ready? I know he picked up an injury this year, but he's not featured at all for the First XI.
  12. He's not walking away, but he'll be shopping himself around no doubt.
  13. Good to see Steele throwing the ball into the back of his own net. Stupid from Brighton handing him the #1 shirt, awful GK.
  14. We said the same thing last year. We weren't going to win the Playoffs with our lack of firepower.
  15. It's all about perspective - I was expecting relegation when we'd spent five weeks without a manager in the summer.
  16. He has to be moved on in the summer - on a load of money and he doesn't produce. His contract extension was Mowbray's parting gift to us.
  17. We're 1 player from finishing in the top 6. We're 3/4 players from automatic promotion.
  18. If you're interviewing JDT then you've looked at our squad and though "bloody hell he's done a good job with Hedges / Dolan / Gallagher leading the line".
  19. Let's see who comes down - e.g. I could see Everton and Leicester going into absolute freefall. Watford are a basket case club. We need 3 new attacking players at a minimum, all of whom can score goals.
  20. It would have to be £40m (which is all invested back into the squad) - nobody is offering that YET.
  21. He won't resign, but he'll be taking interviews in the summer. I don't think the O'Brien fiasco sickened him - the lack of a goal scorer did. He even said so in February.
