  1. Strange to put Dolan in the middle and keep Gally wide. Gallagher should be our second option in the middle.
  2. Thanks, that's been bugging the crap out of me ever since he suddenly started saying it differently. Hah as I typed this he pronounced it the old way again! Lucy is certainly still saying it the 'wrong' way too.
  3. What a goal that would have been from Gally. He's never a winger but I honestly think he is looking a decent striker of the ball this season.
  4. There is no good reason to sell Armstrong next month. We might be out of the promotion race, at least for now, but if we lost our primary source of goals then a relegation dogfight wouldn't be impossible. You can't sell your best players just because you're worried an injury may take their value away. That's how you regress. Armstrong hasn't had any significant injuries in the past. Armstrong is a little overrated by some fans, but criminally underrated by others. Nobody is replacing the kind of goals rate he is capable, and it would be one less player capable of stretching teams with pace on the counter, which is our main weapon (we just keep forgetting to use it as we are obsessed with tippy tappy).
  5. Main issue for me is he doesn't break up all that much play. He is also especially conservative with his passing and a bit laid back in his running. He had his best game for us though when he got hooked so could be improving.
  6. Surprised to see there aren't any comments here since he made his return. Thought he looked ready, probably needs to get some more minutes in him before he is starting again. I think he made a difference to our play once he came on, Brereton too. How much of that was a morale boost from them both returning is hard to say, but I thought Dack looked like he hasn't lost much through the injury. Easy to forget he is a much smarter player than quite a few others we have. How many goals he gets will depend on where he is used though.
  7. I had a go at finding the comments but they're probably buried under all his Manure days stuff. Basically after we beat them during a relegation struggle where we badly needed points, by one goal I think, he described it as the worst moment of his professional career. Even though he was part of the team that got humped 7-1 by Manure. Fan? Feck off.
  8. You don't know which comments I'm referring to do you? They have nothing to do with the state of Rovers at the time.
  9. He was previously due to, after we activated the extension, have his contract expire in summer 2022. After we activate the next one (assuming his injury hasn't massively hindered him going forward) his deal will expire summer 2024. So no, he has agreed 2 extra years really.
  10. I'm sure he will still claim to be a Rovers fan if pressed. But his past comments dispel that possibility for me.
  11. 2 and a half year deal with an option in our favour so effectively 3 and a half. Good news though, secures him contractually for the rest of his best years (assuming he comes back the player he was).
  12. It was done a year ago. A year and 8 months ago but still. April 2019. We made the utterly batshit decision to make it a 2 year deal. With no extension option by all reports so far. I said at the time it would be a problem and lo and behold... In fairness, the shortness of it may have come from Nyambe or his agent. We are usually very keen to add those one year extensions in our favour, so it suggests either his camp didn't want to commit to 3 years, or that if they did they insisted it not be at the club's whim (in which case we should have given a guaranteed 3 yr without hesitation). However, any reluctance from his end very likely came from the fact that Elliott fucking Bennett kept being deemed a better option. I wouldn't have been keen on committing long term either if I were him.
  13. He is. He is just on trial at the moment and I only heard about it for the last game the u23s played so fairly sure it's very recent. He was out at Runcorn Linnets after his release by Preston this summer.
  14. It isn't his club. He has made that perfectly clear.
  15. I used to be a Chapman fan, but I have to agree he doesn't have a future here and Dolan is a far better player at what, 3 years his junior? But I maintain this is partly TM's fault. There have been times it was patently obvious Chapman should have had chances to play for us, and I believe the damage was done by not making that happen and playing 'wide strikers' instead. I think Chapman has lost all belief that he will ever properly break into our team no matter what he does. Of course, it's up to him to keep persevering anyway, it's his career after all and opportunities can appear elsewhere if he works hard, but I know from experience how demotivating it can be to be repeatedly overlooked when you shouldn't be. Hope for his sake he gets a move and fixes his head. My main worry is the potential for Dolan to follow the same path. Barely played yet one of our top scorers. Think it will be fine for him to learn this season with cameos, but if it goes on too long he might lose belief that he is valued here too.
  16. Underrated by Rovers fans, if your post is anything to go by.
  17. Nyambe off for Buckley?!? FUCK OFF TONY
  18. Douglas shouldn't have been starting after that horror show, and it's only continuing again. Ghastly cross to follow his letting his man escape to score an uncontested header a few yards out. Bell is a terrible player but on recent showings from both it should be Bell starting.
  19. Sadly, I just can't see it happening though, as much as it needs to.
  20. Cheers, put some money on 0-0 and some on a Stoke win. Before you posted mind, but I definitely feel more confident on those bets coming through now (not that I want them to )
  21. Carter is seriously not trusted. TM would rather play a CM there who has played far too much football lately and is clearly on his arse. Williams is out for months. Lenihan has an injury record (thankfully mostly in the past but could still lurk) and likes to get suspended now and then. Magloire could come back in January but isn't a regular fixture at amateur level. All of this makes the comments that we don't intend to bring any players in unless someone leaves all the more baffling and infuriating. It's not even an expensive area to recruit at a basic level. You can absolutely kiss goodbye to any dreams of the playoffs if playing the likes of Johnson at CB becomes even a semi-regular feature, whether we get away with it today or not.
  22. We have been unfortunate with Wharton's injury. The others have just lived up to their track records. With the intensified schedule, too, it was always inevitable those three were going to be in and out of action.
  23. Williams hasn't played LB all season has he?
  24. And has 1 less assist.
