  1. As in done deal or confirming what we already heard?
  2. Rovers players to give it their all to impress against a Premier League side, lose anyway (possibly on penalties) then have too little left in the tank for Wycombe and balls that one up to (loss or draw).
  3. Absolutely get that it's just an example, and totally agree with the principle. But I sure hope we aren't paying anything like either of those wages for a backup keeper!
  4. Uhh, plenty of harm? He's our top scorer and we need him a lot more than we need a bit of money for flogging him.
  5. On anything like the paltry money he is probably on, I wouldn't mind. If his agent had billy big bollocks ideas, which is fairly likely, that's a different story and I'd agree with you. Bet he is on less than 1k per week at the mo, probably something like 600, 700.
  6. That's good news, this really is a time to use him.
  7. The real money is in promotion. Good tv money isn't likely for a while anyway and the matches themselves have no crowds so won't generate much. I wonder how the streaming money gets split. It's going to be a more intensive season with lots of midweek games. Normally I always want us to progress in all cups as far as possible, but this time we could possibly do without it. Still be delighted if we win. But no need to tire out our main players IMO. Rather beat Wycombe.
  8. They'll be back out again if that Leistner keeps it up! Got to admire a man brave enough to attack an entire crowd. Wouldn't mind a defender with that much aggression and balls. Probably make the odd rash blunder though...
  9. We are letting them play the u23s game instead. Including Davenport, which is baffling to me, especially since Johnson is out with injury.
  10. Buckley has no business in League Two. Lyons probably doesn't either. Both could use a League One loan though for me.
  11. I thought Bournemouth had sold all their best assets apart from King, but apparently they want 50 million for David Brooks, who I had never heard of as I don't really watch the Prem anymore, but he seems to be a 23 year old mid with 13 Wales caps.....game has gone mad.
  12. Was he off to Saudi, or was it a Spanish club? If it was Saudi, he may have read up and decided he didn't want to live there. If he isn't going there (or wherever else a deal collapsed) then presumably we were the next highest offer. Meaning he hasn't lowered his demands, just doesn't have a better offer anymore.
  13. Everything in this discussion is purely speculative tbh.
  14. In terms of resources, an experienced keeper like Elliott probably commands a larger wage and maybe signing on fee, negating the savings on a fee, and for someone who wouldnt be a saleable asset and would need replacing in a year or two. However, I agree there doesn't seem much incentive from his end to move, other than maybe a little more money. He probably isn't on much there at all as a breakthrough young goalie, unless he signed a new deal since breaking through. I guess there's also the fact Kaminski is new here and we may not find him satisfactory, which would give the kid an opening. If he rates his ability he will expect to take advantage of any opportunity.
  15. He has looked a little off his usual pace since that little injury he got after lockdown. Suspect it'll be one of those little niggles we sometimes don't hear about until someone has been a bit cack for a couple months and we suddenly find out they've played through the pain with injections.
  16. Wasn't his best game. Looked a little slower than usual.
  17. If we don't have a left back by the next league game, we need to play JRC there. Bell has had a couple of very brief patches where he has looked ok ish in his time with us, but he is definitely in full clown mode at the moment.
  18. Early days and I don't blame him for these goals...but I do worry he might be a bit like that. I don't remember his highlight reel showing many stops of ranged shots, and so far he is coming across to me like a close range shot stopper. Hopefully he can keep out some from distance too, as our defence likes to leave room out there.
  19. Really? Fuck, wish I'd known that, they did my tits in all game. Only just seen your post though. Good to know!
  20. It's starting to concern me, early days though it is, that Lenihan isn't looking on his game. He the best defender we do have, and with our poor performance in the market so far we can't afford for our most reliable defender to become unreliable.
  21. Not for the first time. Hopefully the good thing to come from this might be a bit more urgency getting defenders in, though you would think the last few years would have mustered that urgency there. Still I did think if we kept a clean sheet it might let Tony give up on it completely. A 3-2 or 4-3 win would have been best of both worlds...
  22. None of the goals are really his fault, and he made a top save earlier. Jury out but defence is the real problem.
  23. Fuck. Dolan dispossessed for that too, shame cos he has looked magic. Will set him back in TMs eyes because when young players do it they're not ready, when Bell does it he starts next week.
  24. Dolan and Rothwell could change the flow here.
  25. Time for some subs, this game is running away from us now
