  1. Yes. Very realistic - just say no. Don't see how there is time to resolve a deal as big as that would be anyway, unless they've already tapped up his agent.
  2. You're joking, right? There is zero indication of a bid being accepted or even a slight willingness to consider it. Until there is...chill. (if you weren't joking)
  3. If you want to steal a team's star player, it's not a good idea to do it at the death like this, especially with no prior warning. It allows them no time to replace. You're going to get reluctance and, at best, higher prices. The end of the window is best used for fringe players, prospects, and players you've chased all window (knowing the other team may have prepared a replacement). At that point you can pressure clubs to take the cash, or finish your poker games.
  4. Nonsense. It's all been happening already, with 3 hours to go. We've paid off a pub player so he can hit the pubs. Given a Fisherman a new contract. Said Travis and Nuttall are going on loan, then said they probably almost certainly aren't but still might be. Heard Samuel won't be able to help us for the season, which we knew last season. And best of all, we've played amateur sleuths and zoologists by deciphering Twitter photos and cross-examining little pussies (not nearly as paedophillic as it sounds). Hectic.
  5. I did wonder why today. Still slightly odd though, could have waited til about 4.30pm to cancel it, in case a loan came in last minute that could save us more. Maybe we just don't want to waste resources pissing about with Caddis at that time when we may have other deals to tie up.
  6. It will just be an event at Ewood. A player wouldn't rock up in a limo unless they were eccentric. They'd be in their fancy personal sports car.
  7. You're a heartless fuck.
  8. Ahhh there we go. Feel better now! It was being made out it was today.
  9. Entirely possible, and I hope so. It's the timing and the fact it was a Rovers one until now that has me worried. If you're about to move to Rovers, strange day to change your picture from a Rovers one. Maybe he is just teasing us!
  10. Just seen on a Millwall forum that Saville is undergoing a medical at Boro...and Millwall have someone doing the same...
  11. Seems odd he would change his pic to 'young lions' on a day he didn't make the squad. Still worried about a Millwall swap possibility... Or maybe he has just been to Knowsley Safari Park.
  12. Of course he has a say...and has changed his pic to some lions. Hoping it just means young lions ie England youth though, as others said.
  13. Named, or name? If named, was he in it?
  14. Foot massages, boot cleaning, bit of sweeping. Take your pick. Big loss to the facilities team.
  15. LT deadline day live blog thingy says TM has said it.
  16. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16611021.lewis-travis-could-now-be-set-to-stay-with-rovers/?ref=mac Think this would be bad for the lad's development, to stick around now we have Reed too. I feel he should go on loan til January then reassess.
  17. He must be devastated, hope he recovers well. Unless we get a striker in on loan, Nuttall will have to stay now. Think we should see about getting Butterworth a loan out. As well as basically any of the kids we can, actually. Men's football really helps.
  18. I bet you've got nothing, with all those 6-7 million pound pints!
  19. This should be good news, but actually I'm getting a little concerned. All because of that damned lion cub pic Harry put up! Which feels ridiculous but what an odd day for it. Thing is, I posted yesterday how there is a transfer triangle with Boro, Millwall, and Sheff U all wanting wingers from each other. One way to cut through that would be if Millwall decided Harry Chapman would suffice as a Saville replacement...
  20. Definitely the bottom one! Isn't it all of Lancashire though, not just East, unless you're counting Manchester and Merseyside?
  21. We really have some great attacking options now. Lots of youth, speed and skill. Graham's experience and strength available too. With everyone fit we could field two completely different, handy attacking fours if we manage to add Chapman. You could field: Graham, Dack behind him, Armstrong and Palmer either side. Or Brereton, Rothwell behind, Chapman and Bennett either side. Or any combination of them of course. Although the first one is stronger and more proven, the second would trouble at least half the teams in this league. Even a few injuries shouldn't be too troubling. Conway doesn't have to be anywhere near the starting 11. Exciting stuff if we get Chapman too. Although he is inevitably going to be the impact sub for now unless injuries hit deep. He's terrifying against tired legs though.
  22. The Boro local rag mentions an interesting transfer triangle that could determine our pursuit of Chapman. Boro want Saville, but Millwall will only sell if they land a replacement. The replacement Millwall want is Leonard from Sheff U, who will only sell if they get a replacement. The replacement Sheffield want is Marvin Johnson...from Boro. Need TM to get them all in a room to sort it out, while he wanders off with Chapman for a bargain fee...
  23. It really doesn't make a difference. Unless you think about it all wrong. If we spend 6m or whatever in Jan, and he has gotten injured or been poor, we will be miffed at paying 6m for a waster. If we spent 6m last month and he gets injured or is poor...we will be miffed at paying 6m for a waster. We will 'feel tied down to something we no longer want' either way (though hopefully it won't happen). The only difference is we have saved interest payments by not handing it over yet.
  24. Attack-minded.
  25. Uh, in fairness, that very same article links a Bolton player with an imminent move. To us. I think we have had a blissfully peaceful summer for speculation of outgoings actually. We have several good assets and yet this recent Dack non-starter tosh is the only speculation I can remember. Except the Graham to Bolton one before he signed his new deal. Even last year, Mulgrew and Lenihan got linked away. Could easily have had speculation about Mulgrew, Lenihan, more than we had about Graham and Dack, Raya and even Nyambe.
