  1. Not gonna lie, I can't figure out those subs. Buckley has been our best player, probably the best player on the pitch actually, Moran played his best game in ages, and Dolan has been a nuisance. None of them should have fitness issues really. Maybe Buckley but no signs of it and hasn't been flogged lately.
  2. He played week in week out in a couple of spells for us. I never thought it was fitnes that looked the problem either, just effort. He wasn't blowing out his ass, he just wasn't putting a shift in.
  3. Hard working? He certainly wasn't the last few times I saw him for Rovers, in fact that was the most frustrating thing about him. Maybe his failed loan at Lincoln has finally motivated him.
  4. Why did he come off if he was playing well? Injury?
  5. Quite how he didn't when he took two of them out like that is beyond me! Guess the ref noticed he did try to tuck his legs back in.
  6. Stopped him what?
  7. I'm not sure we can consider a club record 22 million fee to be giving away.
  8. No, Hyam, Szmodics and Brittain all cost more.
  9. I wouldn't be saying he was a slightly better keeper if I 'wasn't having him'. But he really isn't that great, nor that much of an upgrade. He's simply in better form than Leo was, and better form than he himself was before injury where Wahlstedt actually looked an upgrade for a short while as Pears had been shakey. We've also become more concerned about defending lately and leaving the keeper less exposed.
  10. Not sure about that, more that he was failing at shots that were mild tests. Reckon he would probably have made all the saves Pears made tonight. Pears' abilities are being massively overstated, as are Wahlstedt's shortcomings, mostly by people who vociferously wanted Wahlstedt out the team and don't want to admit the replacement is only a little bit better. Neither keeper is good enough for us at present.
  11. How much better? A little bit. Imagine where we would be? I'd say about 3-5 points better off. He made a few saves tonight but I'd say only one was any kind of test.
  12. Christ it's bad it's taken that long!
  13. Looked more dangerous than we did in the rest of the match. It's just been a poor game all round.
  14. Cardiff commentators seriously biased. 'Oh he's unlucky there' He's not unlucky, he's yards offside. The linesman not making a terrible decision isn't 'unlucky' (though I guess you could argue they make plenty of terrible decisions...)
  15. Looked a different team since the subs.
  16. Second time I've seen someone say this lately, but if we drew every game then yes, it probably would keep us up.
  17. How the fuck have we not scored there?
  18. We need to remember that's a league where our youth LB (probably about 5th or 6th choice here if everyone was fit) is impressing. He probably was a gem for them. Hopefully Dolan injects more impetus for us.
  19. It says something if Moran is an upgrade. Personally I think Ayari has shown good feet. He just seems to lack the brainpower needed for his role.
  20. Gally seems to have forgotten what the offside rule is tonight.
  21. So if he sold for say 42 million, we'd get a mighty 3 million extra. Woop woop.
  22. A lot of talk about a knockdown price for Adam, and whilst I'm critical of the deal and think we could have got a bit more in the summer, and that he will go on to be worth a whole lot more in the future, I'm not sure we can really talk about the club record fee in this way. £22 million is more as less as much as could realistically be expected for a CM with only Championship experience. Unless you're a Jude Bellingham, who was a star at 17 and clearly a world class talent, and he only went for about £25 million about 4 seasons ago. I think we could have held out for more or less the same fee, and maybe by the summer we'd have been looking at about 26-28 million, but that's really about as high as it was ever going to go without us getting promoted. What's frustrating is that this is due to the market economics of us being a Championship club rather than the actual ability of the player. All he was short of was showing he could hack it in the Prem. He's already showing that and is probably already worth £30 million if the window opened tomorrow, and probably about £40 million by the summer. Give it another season and we could be talking about £60 million. The club better have worked a good sell-on clause into the deal. If not then we really have been low-balled.
