Absolute joke! Savage might not make the headlines with goals like Tugay & Thompson (& MGP) but the drive he adds to the midfield is invaluable. If you are serious that you'd rather have Flitcroft in ahead of him you need a reality check! I'm sure the opposition would rather face an ageing Flitcroft who brings nothing to the side than Savage. His none stop harrying forces mistakes and never allows the opposition to settle. I've said previously but I think Savage has had his best games for us at home this season.

Owen would be the first name on any managers team sheet at most clubs so it wouldn't really matter if he was a Souness buy and he was then sacked? Can't stand either Liverpool or Newcastle-hope he stays in Madrid/signs for us. lol

I don't think anyone's given Savage a proper mention but I thought he had his best game for Rovers on saturday. A few more games will see his match fitness improve and he will be a key player for us this season.

Going back to the original question - So how has he actually looked pre-season?

Been on SSN that Tim Sherwood's announced his retirement today.

Ditto. He scored a lot of crucial goals, especially at the start of the season, which some people seem to forget because of the different role he was asked to play in the last few months of the season (with an injury). I'm confident he'll get another 10 or so this time round.

New feature... How about after each game having a poll for people to vote for man of the match? Start up a league and whoever has the most moms at the end of the season could get a supporters award?

People need to realise this isn't Champ/FM and that it's not easy, affordable or wise to get rid of so many players. We need a squad of players and in my opinion all of the players above are able to come in and do a job in our first XI. Try and get rid of some players but surely not half of the squad!?!

The poll is now likely to be flawed though - I originally posted that I would not be attending but now my seat has been reduced I've had a change of plan.

I find it quite funny that a lot of people are now moaning that he'd only be coming for the money. Yes he may increase his salary but lets not forget if he did end up coming to Rovers he would greatly improve the side. If this means we'd then be able to move out someone (Though please not Ferguson) and free up some wages surely the extra points/league places we'll be able pick up with him in the side will then pay for extra in wages?!? I really do hope he'll be playing in blue and white halves by the end of Jan and hope that Hughes & Williams are just playing the waiting game to see if we can get the price down.

Doubt it - they usually announce the winner as soon as the full time whistle blows. Cant see somebody rushing to Hughes for his MOM decision right after the match!

Thought the 'lillies' were one of the highlights though slightly dissapointed by their failure to meet the Rovers fans request!?!?!
