You know me far too well. To be fair our big night out was a Tuesday which was obviously fairly quiet, we did manage to head down to the square where the pubs opened late but were far too hammered and had to get a cab back to the hotel (via macdonalds) about 30 minutes later. Go to the black tiger bar in the red light district, in the downstairs bar you should see a photo of yours truly looking rather worse for wear. I think i'd just proposed to the bar maid..

I only got back from Amsterdam last week so I can tell you now how easy it is to get from the airport to Centraal station. Don't bother with taxis, just grab a train ticket from one of the machines (they are cheaper than buying from the ticket office) and jump on one of the double decker trains. It's about 20 minutes to Centraal station. If anyones not sorted for a hotel, try the amstel botel. It's in an ideal location and it's quite pleasant. Just to give a couple of good pubs for you guys to head to, try the Olde Sailor or the Black Tiger Bar. Both are bang in the midle of the red light district so you have a nice view whilst drinking your beer. You also get a chance to mock the lads going in and out of various doors. Only problem I found was that some big burly blokes kept calling me Charlie.. very odd!!

Yep our European record is awful this year. Played 4, Won 3, Drawn 1.

People keep saying that it would take too long. It certainly wouldn't take much longer than it took for the ref to come over and have a discussion with the linesman yesterday. If he was wearing a headset the 4th Offical could watch it back and say yes or no pretty much instantly. To be honest though I don't think it would have changed the Tugay decision. he caught the player (granted it was unintentional) and in theory he was the last man. The rules of the game state he has to go, the problem is that not all refs are following it and a number of worse challanges have been made which have reulted in players staying on the pitch. Consistancy is required.

Jeffers looked fairly lively when he came on. Might be worth going with him and Benni for the next league game.

Phil, the point I was trying to make was that as a Mod I couldn't physically change someones Avatar. Obviously my poor wording gives you the opportunity to have a little dig. Petty really, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't give up the time to this site that Admin and Mods (to a lesser extent) do for no return at all. We do seem to be on a hiding to nothing generally.

Well I've just got back from Amsterdam so won't be there again next week, just a few pointers: Watch your pockets and bags at Centraal Station If walking around the red light district at night make sure you are in small groups, it's not a very safe place to be on your own, heard stories of a few lads getting mugged whilst we were there. Don't try to take a phot of the 'ladies' in the window, they don't like it and you are likely to get chased down the road by some failry scary looking blokes. Don't drink all day and then decide to go and have a smoke otherwise you'll end up absolutely sparko in bed about 45 minutes later If you want a decent bar head for The Tiger bar which is just down from the Old Sailor in the middle of the red light district, look at the photo's on the wall downstairs and you'll see one with me and the lovely barmaid. Just enjoy it, it's a very unusual place but definitely worth a visit for those who haven't been before.

I can tell you that Douglas definitely isn't!! Danns hasn't proven himself at Championship level yet, He's certainly not shown anything to indicate that he should be playing in the prem.

I seem to recall on an interview on redio 1 recently he clearly stated that he wouldn't return to a premiership club. Obviously he might have had a change of heart following his recent lack of first team opportunites at Real. I still think he should be involved in the england set up and still think he is class. If we had an opportunity to sign him we should do it straight away. I'm sure it would put extra bums on seats.

I can't believe the prices some of the championship teams are getting for players. McSheffrey was about 4m, Jermoe Thomas also went for quite a good fee. To be honest if we were looking at about £1.5 -£2m for Eastwood then fair enough, anything more is too much of a risk.

I'd rather take a chance on Eastwood. Taking the goal out of the match last night I thought he looked impressive, quick feet and pace. Very impressive scoring record. He's managed 10 goals (I think) for the team currently bottom of the Championship. I know it's a big step up but he certainly seems to have the quality to make it.

To be fair RTM I would agree if he played in a position further up the field. Wingers and Strikers who have injuries sometimes lose that little bit of pace to take them past players, I think Nelsen will come back just fine. He plays in a position where experience and positioning often take precedent over pace, I don't think he will lose that.

Another worrying thing about this game is that both Lucas and Zurab are on 4 yellow cards so we could easily have them both missing for our next game if they're not careful. That could leave us with a very weak back line.
