  1. Agreed Jim, I think he will do well for us. We need a little bit more creativity and hopefully he will give us this
  2. So who crossed the ball for Flitcroft to hit the post????? Krislu, I know you guys are probably a bit miffed that Pederson has been ousted by Jansen but he actually did ok last night.
  3. Did he win the world cup or was he in the team that went out when the other Baggio missed the pen. The only other one I can think of could be Ossie Ardiles
  4. Just out of interest, is this the first time we have had a world cup winner playing for us?
  5. I thought Peter Taylor was in charge of the Under 21's
  6. I think the key thing about last night is that we played pretty well. We had 8 shots on target to their 2. The one thing I did notice is Stead is really low in confidence, he seems to be shying away from the ball. Emerton is one of the most frustrating players i've ever seen, he has verything in his locker but just can't seem to put it all together. There was a golden opportunity last night to run down the wing and get a ball in the box but yet again he cut inside and the move broke down. I'm sure things will click soon and we'll be fine, just need one to go in off Steads arse or something.
  7. Abbey, I have watched their pen shout a few times now and it is very very similar to ours.
  8. All the people complaining about the handball, it was hit straight at the guy. There was a very similar incident in the first half that wasn't given against Matteo.
  9. Thought i would put this in here as I can't see it anywhere else. i was reading Ken Bates' column in the Sun today. He comes out with a fairly interesting revelation, he had reached an agreement with Hughes to be the next Sheffield Wednesday manager if he took over. he claims that he struck a deal in March with hughes and his Agent, Dennis Roach. He says it is a tribute to Mark Hughes that the press never found out and that Mark was good to his word for six months. Interesting to say the least
  10. I never predict a score, it never comes good for me. Happy birthday Grizfoot.
  11. It wouldn't surprise me if their was some truth in the story. I guess Rovers aren't making much money for them these days. Still think Jack would never have let it happen, if only the great man was still with us.
  12. It's about 2 miles from the City centre. I might make the trek down to Norwich from Hereford, might have to leave the Mrs at home this time. She quite enjoyed Dublin but meeting Jordan, Scotty and Manchester Blue in one day is enough for anyone to take.
  13. Best thing is that we have a price agreed ALREADY, always the best option when taking a player on loan otherwise they come in, do well and then the selling club puts the price up.
  14. I have a warm glow after todays game. Not sure if its the result or the Grolsch!!!
  15. it comes up when you type COULD 0F as the correct phrase is could have.
  16. A cup game midweek, could we see Jay and Matty up front. Or should we go with Stead in the hope he can get a goal to lift his confidence. Its a nice dillema to face.
  17. Surely that should read "Why are we in court" and not "why are they in court"
  18. Any team out of the top 6 would have struggled given the fixtures we've had. Arsenal Away, Newcastle Away, and Man U at home. I look on this as the start of our season. Up up and away!!!!
  19. I suppose the money we have saved on Cole and Yorke may be available in January, guessing he may have 3-5m to spend on new faces. We don't need many players just a decent Centre Half and maybe a slightly more experienced forward. Lots of good young talent coming through, just hope Hughes goives them a chance. We have reached the last 4 of the Youth Cup and reached the finals over the last few years, surely we should start seeing some of those players making the breakthrough soon.
  20. I noticed the 2 year contract on the Official Site. It certainly seems a little short but I suppose if everyone is happy it can be extended. Didn't Souness have a similar length contract initially.
  21. Bryan Robson may make a good coach, not too sure just reminds me of Kidd and McClair I suppose. The one thing with Robson is that he has managed in the Premiership before so might be able to offer advice to Hughes. To be honest I don't really rate Robson, not sure why but just don't really want him at the club.
  22. All this talk of his lack of Premiership experience gets to me a bit. Wenger, Mourinho, Benmitez, had no Premiership experience, even Ferguson had no top flight experience in England before he took over at Man United Curbishley, Allardyce, McClaren, Bruce, Coleman, none of them had Premiership experience until they were given the opportunity. Surely there aren't many Premiership managers who actually had Premiership experience before taking over at their current club. The only ones I can think of are: Souness - Newcastle Redknapp - Portsmouth O'Leary - Villa Keegan - Man Citeh They are the only managers who had top flight experience in the Prem before taking over their current job. I don't see the lack of Premiership experience as a problem.
  23. It has to be good for our young strikers. I'm sure Jay, Stead and Gally can learn a hell of a lot from him.
  24. Had a sneaky feeling that might be the case.
