  1. Should be quite easy for me to make this one. It's only an hour to Cardiff on the train for me. About £12 return plus the £16 for a ticket makes it a retty cheap day out for me.
  2. Thought he was a decent player for Everton. Not sure of his age now though.
  3. Can we stop accusing people of being other members. We have software installed to keep a check on this type of thing. I'm sure if Ewood Dream and Roverdrake are the same person it will be dealt with. Until that happens you can assume that there is nothing to link Rover Drake and Ewood Dream. Play nicely Children!!!
  4. I'm off to watch Hereford V Boston tomorrow. Would love Hereford V rovers in the third round. Be good to invite a few people to my home town for a night out.
  5. I have received some answers to questions from the wonderfully named Wyart Lane from 'My Eyes Have Seen The Glory'. Wyart has always done a Q and A with this site over the last few seasons. If you are interested in seeing my answers to his questions take a look at mehstg.co.uk. What has gone wrong at spurs over the last few weeks Not a lot has gone right for Spurs. The change in management (or head coach-ment) has meant a new style. The rumours of the disagreements between Santini and Arnesen have rumbled on, but the official line is personal reasons (much like musical differences when bands split up). I think that the players were OK playing the defensive system, but when they went a goal behind, were unable to respond in attacking mode. The way we play now is much more like the Tottenham of old ... plenty of goals at both ends (but obviously, at the moment, more in our goal). What do the fans think about the sudden resignation of Santini I am not really surprised by anything at Tottenham these days. I heard through the media, who phoned me to let me know, but he seemed to be getting it right at the back, without moving the team into a force who could dominate other teams. That is all well and good, as Gerry Francis showed at Spurs, but there comes a time when you have to break out. They did it in the League Cup, but couldn't, or wouldn't, in the League. The rumours are probably true about unrest, but Santini's comments about his role seem to be at aoods with how everyone else saw it and he has made himself look a little foolish by coming out with that as an excuse. Any opinions on Martin Jol I have met the man twice and he could talk all day about football. He has a great knnowledge of the game and especially of English football. his ideas will be more along the lines of the traditional "Tottenham Way", but I think the scale of the job on his hands is hitting home to him. He is realistic enough to know that you have to grind out some results and that the team have to realise this. As a man in charge, he has the technical knowledge and motivational skills to take the team on, but it is goign to take time. If he leaves this time next year, we will be back in the cycle of despair that has taken us to where we are now. With Man U having been after Jol, he is highly regarded and having had success with a small club in Holland, he knows how to build a team. January will be crucial for him to get HIS side out on the pitch (he is desperate to sign a winger), so we will have to see what happens in the New Year. Any players playing really well at the moment Well, Ledley King has been a rock (except for his nervy match aginst the Gooners); Reto Ziegler - who you prbably haven't heard of - is a powerhouse on the left of midfield and of course, Jermain keeps knocking them in, but who he will be doing that for this tie next year remains to be seen. Who's having a mare Fredi Kanoute and Robbie Keane look out of sorts. Anthony Gardner has been troubled by injury and every time he comes back into the side, seems to look at a loss for confidence. Apart from him, there are players who are not playing to the level they can and although not having individual nightmares, they add up to the team not functioning properly. Any good young players breaking into the team The aforementioned Ziegler is an 18 year old Swiss left footer and will be in the side. Philip Ifil is a 17 year old right back, who Jol and all the Spurs fans have great hopes for. Arnesen's contacts have brought some good youngsters in the reserves and they are just acclimatising to English football ... there is an Aussie midfielder, a Portuguese striker and a Brazilian centre-half !! Do you think Jol will stay in the job or will Spurs look to bring someone else in In my opinion, Jol was laways lined up for the job and within 18 months he would have been in charge anyway. Santini was the "name" manager brought in to sate the anger of the Spurs fans who had waited 9 months for Pleat to be replaced. But he was not going to be long term and the continental set-up was designed to have some continuity should this event happen. I think he will be given time as long as things go reasonably well and an improvement on 14th of last season will be evidence of that. Are there any Rovers players you would like to see at Spurs. I liked Reid at Millwall, but he has been injury hit since joining BRFC. With Jol looking for a winger, Emerton has been mentioned and he looks like he has settled down now and is playing well. What line up can we expect to see. Robinson Pamarot Naybet King (Davenport) Atouba Carrick Mendes Brown Ziegler Kanoute Defoe Subs : Fulop, Davenport (Naybet), Redknapp, Ricketts, Keane What is your prediction for the match 1-1 ... although Blackburn seem better at getting the odd point that Spurs, but it is somethign we need to learn. I'd like to thank Wyart for doing the Q and A session again. We have built a good relationship up with mehstg over the last few seasons and he is always more than happy to answer a few questions for the preview.
  6. looks like the Spurs game is going into extra time, hopefully they will be completely shattered by the time they get to us on Saturday evening.
  7. But the main question is will Mrs Stuwilky be wearing sensible shoes this time
  8. Spurs picked up 3 points against Boro last week but were completely outplayed during the first half. It was only when Boro had a defender sent off that Spurs posed any threat at all. I never predict scores as I am always wrong but I think this will be a close game and it could go either way.
  9. I thought he misses the next game which would be the midweek game against Liverpool in the Carling Cup.
  10. His suspension will be the mid week carling cup game.
  11. I backed you up Brownie. Sherwood was always one of my Favourite players when I was younger. I still keep an eye out for his performances at Coventry.
  12. just got home after a thoroughly enjoyable away day. Bought a Citeh supporting mate with me and he really enjoyed meeting everybody. It was good to catch up with a few old faces and meet a couple of new ones. The fans were fantastic and outsung the Fulham fans all match. The players did seem to really appreciate the support from the fans and raised their games. The on ly one thing i would say is that we should be shooting more, several times we got into the box but seemed scared to have a go. All of the players were outstanding and we deserved the win. You'll all be pleased to know that I actually managed to get off the train at the right stop on the way home and didn't end up doing a 'Scotty'
  13. I'll chear him for being a quality player for us, no other reason than that.
  14. I guess Crossley will be playing in goal, I must admit I'm quite happy about that as I rate Van De Sar highly. Crossley has looked good recently but I still think he is prone to errors so we could get some goals. Andy Cole will score past us so we just have to score more than them..... simple!!!
  15. looking forward to it, only my second away game of the season. I will be in the Eight Bells nice and early. Any one been there before?, just wondering if I will be allowed in wearing colours.
  16. Ricky

    Fulham

My tickets arrived yesterday. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone in the Eight Bells. Am I going to be able to get in in Colours??
  17. I'm intrigued to know how they plan on imposing this 5 year ban from all grounds. In 12 months surely he could walk down to the Ewood ticket office and pay cash for a ticket, how would they know who he is!! He could give a different name if that was required. I really don't see how this can be enforced.
  18. Great Preview Tris, just one thing, the game in Mid April was screened on Sky not ITV Digital. I remember it well as I was interviewed by Sky and unsurprisingly made a complete knob of myself.
  19. So I guess that means another vote just between Forrest and Sherwood then.
  20. I would not change the back 4 at all. Players need a few games together to gel, changing it around continuesly will help no one. It didn't look great at the back yesterday but it will come. Need to look at the midfield, why weren't they tracking back. Brum had 5 players in the box for the anderton goal, our midfielders weren't anywhere to be seen.
  21. Jim, they also had the best defensive record and we've just put 3 past them
  22. Funniest moment of the game was Dickov screaming at Gally for scoring when he had done all the work. I feel Dickov deserved a goal. Also nice to see Manchester Blue get more airtime than MGP and Yorke put together. Some very impressive bubble gum blowing going on there mate.
  23. I think when a player starts saying that he should play instead of one of his teammates it shows a complete lack of respect. Reid has been doing ok the last few weeks and I can't see the team being changed this weekend. Shame he won't just get his head down and work hard to show he deserves a starting place instead of spouting off to the press when he gets a chance.
  24. I voted Sherwood right back at the start, I just can't believe the way people on here are slating others for doing so. Unless some of you have forgotten this is a vote, people are entitled to vote for whover they want to. I have read all of the players biographys that people have kindly posted and I have made my decision. I like others do not feel that I should be berated for making a decision.
  25. Can we get back on topic now please guys. I certainly don't have the time or energy to read through pathetic name calling posts.
