  1. He did lose a half a yard, but seemed to get stronger and more powerful as he grew, so maybe he was a better centre forward for it during the 94,95,96? I agree, though, the pace he had early on made him more of a threat running in behind and down the channels and wings. Best attacking player I've seen. Duff deserves a mention too. My dad says it's Duggie, mind you.
  2. Agree, it looks wrong when viewed from the side, either mainly all white, or all blue.
  3. Speedie, Bellamy, who else are we missing?
  4. I saw a lot of Pezzella here for Betis, lead the back line and more often than not was in the right place to head clear or get a block in - class player. He wasn't first choice for Argentina during the tournament, so whoever was infront of him must've been very good. This is, of course, said with some bias on my part 😜
  5. I like both of this season gone's shirts, but couldn't bring myself to buy/wear anything with Venkys on the shoulder.
  6. Pretty sure this was my first game, 1989 Watford, 2-2. Went with my dad and my younger brother, I was 9. Walked down from my grandparents' place on Pritchard Street. Remember all the legs of people jumping up when we scored, and have a memory of a shot hitting the side netting and thinking it was a goal.
  7. I was able to watch about 5 seconds of the interview.
  8. Cheers mate, I appreciate it! 🙏
  9. I feel like crying. Love Rovers so much, and when I try and explain to non-Rovers fans what's been going on they don't get it. God bless you all, god bless Uncle Jack and please Venkys F*** right off ASAP. It takes a special bunch of sociopaths to cling onto something when you're so hated by the people it involves. Apologies for this, I've been able to hold it back for years. Here it is, the straw that broke the camel's back.
  10. Apologies for posting this here. Does anyone have/ know where I can get a copy of the 4000 holes fanzine issue 109? It's the one with the 90s kits in. I can't find it on the site or on ebay. Cheers
  11. I remember seeing some kind of comic strip on twitter of dougie ripping united apart. Havent been able to find it since, anyone have any ideas?
  12. Totally agree! It's definitely an opportunity missed by the parents that don't speak to the kids in their own language.
  13. Maybe not the same level as the championship, but not particularly poor, come on! A tutor isn't the same as living and being immersed in the country. I hope he can kick on at Villarreal all the same.
  14. I don't know if this is me reading into it, but isn't he interested in properly learning Spanish, with his mum and Chile, etc? Maybe, if he does slip down a division, it could still be in Spain.
  15. A random one here, so please excuse me for going slightly off topic. Me and my son went to the Betis Burnley game yesterday played at Huelva Recreativo's ground. We live in Seville and are Betis fans. The family are all Rovers for generations. Decided not to wear any Rovers gear, 'cause I don't like causing a scene. Anyway, good game for a preseason turn out, including a goal for Betis from inside their own half that went off the bar and then bounced back off the Burnley keeper's head and in. Lovely stuff!
  16. I wonder if he was even as "prolific" as Andy Kennedy? 🤭
  17. There's loads of other great sport to watch instead. I'll probably end up taking in a few games, but won't sweat it if I miss anything. All this nationalism makes me switch off.
  18. Rovers finished 4th in 92/93 and missed out on a EUFA Cup spot, I'm pretty sure the next season that was enough for Europe. Villa? Newcastle? Liverpool? I can't remember who it would have been.
  19. The review/coverage videos of 92/93 are so good right now. Such a magical time, seeing it all again is really helping me get through this time. Thanks!
  20. Hahaha i know... 'plaaay ooffs?'
  21. Roy Keane, i think with him Rovers could have maybe won a few more titles, but who knows. It definitely stung though that one, I remember hearing on the radio that he was as good as signed...
  22. Legend, cheers for those Tyrone!
  23. They sound amazing. My dad was a regular during those times, he'd love to see them. Hope Rochdale play a good game! Go easy on yr lad
