  1. I agree that WATR have done a good lobbying job, probably the best offer they could’ve got out of them, as they just aren’t going to follow Bolton/PNE. But, like the Watford game why does it take fans (in other words volunteers giving up their free time) to make them wake up down there. Aren’t they paid professionals supposedly in marketing and commercial jobs?
  2. End of the day if we didn’t have a Cat 1 would we be buying players to keep us in the Championship instead… think we all know the answer to that.
  3. So it’s all about the manager now? Thought that’s not what modern football is? End of the day if you think we are selling a few more advertising boards and a better sponsor away from being a well run club, then we obviously have different standards.
  4. 10 minute city 🚨
  5. So like I said your issues are with the commercial side - no arguments from me there. But the football side you seem happy enough.
  6. Obviously that Fidler or whatever he’s called has fecked off as wasn’t his view inexplicably not to try and get young fans in the ground as ‘kids don’t want to watch football, they’d rather wear a VR headset’ or some other bollocks.
  7. I suppose if they are struggling for sales ‘Phase 1’ suddenly becomes more elastic. We’ve seen it many times before.
  8. Doesn’t sound like something Venky’s would have an issue with.
  9. People have taken the piss out of his English in the past, don’t like that at all, because fair play to him for posting regularly if dyslexic etc. I also think he should never get stick for, you know, watching Rovers, I go every week and nobody rounds on me for it. However, I completely disagree with a lot of his opinions… and will continue to do so, just like he can with mine.
  10. Amazingly the Chadster still thinks this is a well run club aside from ‘Waggott needs to get better on the commercial side’. (Well, maybe not that amazing).
  11. Yeah I’m sure JDT thought Batty was ready for the first team, more like ‘there’s no cash left for a left back, so you can have young Jake’.
  12. We’ve no idea if it’s a positive sign considering they were put on sale almost two months later than last year, so of course a few thousand will buy pretty much straight away as the sale window has been concertinaed. It might be, might not be, we’ll only know post claim your seat deadline and phase 1.
  13. Pick isn’t worth getting into a debate with… remember he wanted someone to break Sammie’s legs, never did work out why, was it for having the temerity to keep Saint Dacky out the side who’s hardly played a game anywhere since.
  14. And they try to justify it with the response of a six year old, ‘err, well, everybody else does it’… which, of course, is a lie anyway.
  15. Of course there are folk like you who would return under new ownership. But the fact you care enough to post such a heartfelt post on an obscure Rovers message board marks you out as still being invested with the club. Unfortunately many, many others just drifted away 12/13 years ago and don’t really give the club much thought either way these days.
  16. Fair play with the concession prices, however the issue is the headline figure - I.e adult prices, they have only marginally reduced so there will be no headline ‘wow they’re cheap’ like when Bolton and PNE overnight slashed prices. Boiling frog analogy and all that. It is hopefully enough to keep us pretty much where we were, but £25 off an adult ticket won’t see any noticeable spike.
  17. They aren’t sincere, not a chance in hell 4,000 people are actively Venky-boycotting - I’d say 400 sounds more plausible and that’s still being generous. But let’s pretend there is and that these 4,000 who haven’t been seen since PL football in 2011/12 and do all manner of other things now with their time and money will suddenly return to watch a midtable (at best) second division side if we got new owners tomorrow. Most of those that knocked it on the head as ST holders between 2010 and 2012 have gone and that’s that - doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other fans out there to target as fan bases evolve constantly.
  18. That podcast think ‘The Venky’s’ are marvellous so presumably it will be another episode in which they blow smoke up their collective arses.
  19. Such people exist in minuscule numbers. We lost not far off 10k fans between 2010 and 2012, most have long gone.
  20. No mention of in-store extra charges here… https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/one-week-go-202425-early-bird-season-tickets Or here… https://www.pnefc.net/news/2024/may/nothing-beats-matchday-202425-season-cards-on-sale/ Or here… https://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/2024/may/20/2024-25-season-tickets-on-sale-now-/
  21. They went up about 300 on the back of our best season in a decade and a slight price reduction, so scraping just over 9k instead of scraping just under it. So in reality they stayed static as they have for a decade. That will remain the case until we get back in the PL or there is a sizeable price reduction - and as we won’t get either under this calamitous regime they’ll stay static.
  22. Think RoversTillIDie is thinking of th’owden days where most folk didn’t bother with a ST and just rocked up at the gate - certainly not the case for the vast majority of match goers these days.
  23. The next Fans Forum is in July and no doubt he’ll be crowing again saying we are in for “*our best figures ever since time began* (time starting, of course, in 2012 as Rovers have always been like this, and Oceania has always been at war with East Asia). And he “wants to put on record our thanks to the owners for allowing this fantastic offer” (an offer that still has us an average £100 dearer than Bolton). Then in September’s FF he we state we have actually sold an amount in the standard range again between about 8k and 9.5k.
  24. There are no pre-ordained ‘levels’ it’s why pretty much half the PL last season was the likes of Brentford and Bournemouth and clubs like Leeds, Sheff Wed are still in the second division.
  25. No he’s miles off. 9,300 ST holders last season, between 2k (night game) and 3/4k (for a Saturday) walk-ons. For decades now this club has seen ST holders make up the vast majority of the crowd and that won’t change, so yes, as you say ST sales are vitally important.
