  1. He would take it if it fell on his lap, of course. But you have to go and out and grab it… and he certainly won’t be doing anything that facilitates that (which as he merely does the owners’ bidding it is presumably an approach they are happy with).
  2. Exactly, and I think we can all sense a season like that not being too far away if this carries on…
  3. That’s a very fine balancing act in a league as tight as this. Plan for mediocrity in your division and you’ll actually end up falling out if it…
  4. Who is this sorry state of a football club bringing in better?
  5. I personally don’t see Pears as a good enough all round keeper to be first choice for this level, and I’ve thought that since Easter. So I’d like the new fella to be given a chance. No particular expectations, I’d never heard of the bloke a month ago, but the club has deemed he was worth what is now a sizeable fee for this atrophied version of brfc, a Sweden cap. So let’s see how he goes.
  6. Thought the crowd were very good yesterday, obviously they understood that we were up against it. People leaving early is just habit, even more people leaving early when a late opposition goal goes in is also a habit.
  7. Absolute panic about hitting a four car tailback at the Mill Hill pub junction or wherever.
  8. The ones that stayed seemed fairly level headed about it from what I was hearing around me.
  9. Think he’d be relieved, he can neatly disappear from public view again for the next five years.
  10. You watch any other ground, if the away side take a late lead, the ground empties. I don’t understand it myself, you need to carry on supporting the team, as they then need it more than ever. But that’s football fans.
  11. I can certainly justify it thus far. Played well against West Brom, fought hard today. The players have certainly earned our support so far.
  12. Don’t you go go most home games anyway?
  13. Yes, you do - Filan, good keeper, ‘hadn’t done anything wrong’ . We then signed Friedel, and that was that.
  14. For something different for her career, her coaching and CV, for lifestyle, for money (oh and it is a proper football country in the women’s game, and it has been for far longer than it has over here).
  15. I certainly don’t think they are ‘bent’, however it seems to me that unconsciously there is an inherent bias towards the elite clubs. Don’t know if it’s the spotlight, the crowd, the managers, social media pressure. But it’s there.
  16. It’s what happens when you have under 9,000 ST holders. Nothing we can do about it until we get a CEO that is willing to get real on prices (or a promotion, obviously).
  17. You drop him because you have a better player in the position (presuming JDT thinks he is a better keeper). That’s what good teams and ruthless managers that want to improve them do.
  18. The media love a narrative. PL winning captain at City, now it’s ‘master v apprentice’. Look at Wrexham for another.
  19. An actual Ewood Sky game on a Friday for Leicester… the very odd eight *year* gap since the last one is finally over. (And I miss it anyway as I’m on holiday 😁).
  20. Where’s the ‘meltdown’? I see more posts taking about ‘meltdowns’ than actual, err, meltdowns.
  21. I’m not sure, standing is the prime example. The unwashed plebs that watch football wouldn’t have been allowed anywhere near that a decade ago. It’ll come.
  22. Then they need life bans and arrested on a public order offence, a draconian approach is needed on these cretins in order to allow the 99% fans that can behave themselves to enjoy a normal day out. Things change quickly, look at the re-introduction of standing, nobody saw that coming five or so years ago.
  23. Is it not time to scrap the no booze at your seat rule? Can’t be great for crowd control to have packed out concourses with folk necking pints in five minutes.
  24. Remember when getting a shirt for your summer hols was a pretty simple process…
