  1. The open contempt he shows to the ‘leadership’ of the club would see him sacked elsewhere, luckily this lot don’t give a flying feck, so at least JDT can make merry in his pressers with no consequences, probably only fun he has left in the job. It was the same with TM in the lockdown season, he was pretty much begging for and looking resigned to the sack… of course this club doesn’t work like that, we weren’t going to get relegated, you have a contract, so just crack on will you.
  2. We’d go from a vape factory down the road as our main sponsor to even having an Official Korean Noodle Partner 🤩
  3. I don’t ‘claim’ anything, those are the facts (obviously I’m talking Championship, I.e 2012/13 onwards by the way, the PL is always a different issue entirely). No, where have I said I expect to be having bigger gates? We lost nearly half our ST holders in the summer of 2012 after they inexplicably kept Ke*n on that summer (clubs normally keep the vast majority of their ST base post relegation, ours haemorrhaged) and we’ve never recovered. Totally to be expected when the team has largely treaded water ever since. So what do you do when we have so much lost ground to make up? Just wait and wait and wait and wait forlornly rattling around in a ground that often has 17/18,000+ empty seats until we miraculously pull off a promotion or do you do look to do something proactive about filling plenty more of those seats in this very long meantime? Alas, these owners have decided to employ people who are happy to wait and wait and wait and wait, revenue targets seem to be getting hit regardless, so that’s that really, why do they give a toss either way? But that’s a choice that’s being made, it doesn’t have to be this way.
  4. Apart from the Coyle season our Championship gates are exactly where they’ve been since 2012 - c14k. This was pointed out to you the other week, unsurprisingly you ignored it. The away support is excellent, never said otherwise, but that’s a totally different issue. I certainly do understand the support, you are just struggling to understand the argument. I totally agree re success, if we got into the play off semi, would we see a big crowd? Yes, Wembley? Massive. Premier League? Would be just like the old days. Who would possibly argue differently? Every club is exactly like that. Success increases gates, true since time immemorial. However, 90% of the time clubs aren’t particularly successful, right now 90% of clubs aren’t particularly successful, yet crowds are stil booming across the game, ours aren’t. Surely you can see what I’m driving at?
  5. You consistently miss the point on this issue, Christ knows why as it’s been pointed out to you on many occasions (and not just by me). I’ll explain again…English football is seeing its biggest league crowds since the 1950s… but not here. The vast majority of those clubs are doing feck all on the pitch either, not stopping their crowds booming. So why aren’t ours? You had the answer and the culprits banged to rights in your previous post.
  6. We have a pitiful 9,000 ST holders, it’s of course understandable why after 12 years of these abhorrent owners, indeed fair play to every one of the 9,000 that have stuck with it, we know exactly who is to blame for these numbers and it ain’t the supporters… but ‘very good’ in the context of the booming division we are in (and the rest of football) it ain’t.
  7. We could, we could not. Far too early to be making any kind of judgements after his first 70 minutes of league action this season. Plus he didn’t even have a poor game anyway. He’s actually struggling to make an impact in, say, October then fair enough as it’s a loan and we can’t be waiting months for an impact. But this early? Lad needs to get up to speed, because as you’ve just said elsewhere it’s a tough League to adapt to, so a bit of an odd view, J*B, but hey ho game of opinions and all that.
  8. Forget Harrogate, neither here nor there (sorry Phil) So he’s played one game and did perfectly fine. But even if he had struggled players don’t get chance to get up to speed with you then?
  9. Questions about Moran?! Presumably that solely down to him being new? Absolutely nothing to suggest he won’t offer plenty so far.
  10. He’s 19 and being asked to run the game in a tough league every week. What are you expecting to see?
  11. So I’m not supposed to be thanking the owners for it now?
  12. Very enjoyable this, I read…
  13. Just need him to let me know to who. JDT? The players? The new bus? Though probably it’s to Phil himself for not applauding his wisdom, us east Lancs cave dwellers do disappoint him so…
  14. ‘Apologise’? To who? 😄 It was a great win, nobody is suggesting otherwise, it’s in the history books in black and white. However, they were a very, very poor outfit, so it obviously doesn’t mean JDT is now a superior Rovers manager to Hughes and Souness on the back of it. Just silly to suggest so.
  15. They were the reserve side of a fourth division outfit. Great fun all round, but it means absolutely nothing either way re JDT suddenly leapfrogging two club legends in Hughes and Souness on the back of it. You don’t half come out with some out there stuff.
  16. Now moved to the Sunday at noon due to the cup tie… the wait goes on!
  17. Think you are getting a little carried away. We all enjoyed it, who wouldn’t? The development of these young lads is terrific, JDT’s approach to cup football is terrific. But saying this one result against a fourth division second XI now means JDT’s now our best manager since Kenny, that it’s ‘miraculous’, that the ‘magnitude isn’t registering’ with these uniquely miserable east Lancastrians is just a *tad* hyperbolic. As an example of your hyperbole, a side just seven places higher in the table than their opposition went there and won 7-0 a couple of years back, now that looks a far bigger achievement than giving Harrogate’s reserves a tonking.
  18. You’ve come to that conclusion post thumping a fourth division club’s second XI? I love the bloke, but he obviously can’t be seen as superior to Hughes or Souness at this stage.
  19. That story was from 9 days ago, nothing has changed since, I don’t think. Ease in after the international break is the plan, no?
  20. We’ll end up playing at a daft time on the Saturday night to avoid ‘fixture congestion, ‘player welfare’… then both sides will make 11 changes.
  21. Doesn’t bother me as long as they aren’t giving it the big ‘un when/if they score. Surely we’ve all taken an away fan with us to Ewood at some point or other.
  22. More attacking than Kenny and Souness? Not sure about that. It’s just that football tactics have changed since their era.
  23. Must be the earliest start ever for the annual kit shambles.
  24. Very, very bitter set of fans, unsurprising when unlike pretty much every other club in this region they’ve achieved the square route of feck all since Finney.
