  1. Surely it’s obvious why clubs see the league as most important. A promotion or relegation or a top 4 finish in the PL can fundamentally transform a club for better or worse for a decade, a cup defeat is a one off defeat, have another go next season. It’s sad that this is where the game has gone, but looking at how crowds have completely flipped on their head in the modern era - I.e cup ties used to be the biggest gates of the season, but are now the lowest presumably show many fans are on board with said priorities.
  2. Obviously I’m nowhere near as invested as you Mike, but I’ve paid my dues since the start and I’ve not received as much as a single email in ten years, despite asking and asking and asking what is surely a very simple request to be added to the mailing list for newsletters etc. To be fair to mhead he has forwarded them on to me when I’ve asked him directly but it’s all a bit slapdash.
  3. It’s a non public email address obviously purposely named to avoid being contacted, ergo most fans won’t even know about it so not sure he will be able to claim that (well it is Swag, so yes, he probably will).
  4. What a post. 🤦‍♂️ How about for the good of the game? How about to aid the plethora of clubs that have been the foundation of football in this country for 150 years and are the bedrock of the deepest pyramid in the world game, how about as payback for all the players they have produced and nurtured that have ended up at top sides? How about to even up the divisions so newly promoted sides aren’t getting beat 8-0 at home? What an attitude to take, but par for the course for you.
  5. I did read it, sounds like nonsense to me. He got noticed last season for having us up there throughout and in a cup QF, not ‘playing the right way’ as we were pretty prosaic for the most part.
  6. Why would he get more attention for having a long forgotten club in their usual mid table position over steering them into a first play off campaign in donkeys years?
  7. It became clear to me in the 2011, 2012 protest period that most folk just want to watch a team in blue and white they have an connection to play a game of football once a fortnight. They aren’t particularly arsed about all the rest of it like us tragics on here. There are loads of empty seats at Ewood compared to most of our Championship peers, ergo we must have ‘shit support’ and be a ‘small club’, so these owners keeping the bills paid is good enough for them and we should be bloody well grateful for it too.
  8. Sky purely seem to pick teams towards the top, regardless of how they play. So we’ll hardly be on at this rate… it’ll be PNE fans watching the NYD game at noon and random fixtures on a Saturday night this time if they aren’t careful…
  9. AW is being expected to run Championship games twice a week at 19, he isn’t Bellingham (sorry Phil), just a very promising young lad, so needs nurturing and taking out the firing line every now and then… that can’t happen here due to horrendous recruitment.
  10. These threads appear every now and then, but it’s what Oldgregg said. Those in Ewood put up with it, everyone else has stopped/will stop going. The era of protests has long gone.
  11. Thirteen years with these owners and further away than ever, a pretty damning assessment of this regime from you, Rev…
  12. Presume that means you want the bloke sacked? In September, after another embarrassing window, with these players? Ridiculous stuff.
  13. Imperial Stout in 1904, Lion Brewery well ahead of its time.
  14. *And when priced correctly, it’s always been that way.
  15. Chaddy choosing not to attend a Rovers home game, not a lot more to be said to how this decision has landed.
  16. Great effort for a right old trek at 31 quid a ticket after an iffy start to the season. The away support is at its strongest for a long time, anyone would think there’s potentially good support at Blackburn Rovers to harness…
  17. 6k is plenty for early round cup ties, indeed it’s the best it’s been here for years for such games and compares well with what most other similar clubs get. Are those clubs closing two out the three home stands for them? Have things now got so bad cash flow wise that even opening two home stands for first team games is seen as unaffordable? Anybody else feel this is just the tip of a fast approaching iceberg?
  18. So he is now planning for Accy Stanley crowds for first team games? Nicely sums up his tenure.
  19. The old Riverside 🥰
  20. …and the result is they walk away.
  21. The days of vocal protests have long gone. Folk now just walk away.
  22. Born and raised in Germany to Bosnian parents.
  23. 8 days to KO, most tickets for early round cup ties are sold on the day of/day before the game. So he can still salvage the situation by opening it for sales this week. A real leader would put his hand up, realise he’s unnecessarily antagonised loyal supporters and get it open, on a practical level no harm done… however this charlatan strutting around in a club tie who somehow gets to run this prestigious football club has neither the humility nor the nous to do such a thing.
  24. And he’d see that as justification… as would the sheep fans on social media.
  25. The Ewood crowd stays right behind the team and is very patient with players that often arrive very raw or through the Academy. It is clear they understand where we are as a club these days. So it really annoys me when our fans are labelled ‘shit’ or ‘fickle’ by supposed ‘fellow’ supporters. We obviously just need more of them - and the fact we don’t is purely the fault of the powers that be.
