  1. If you say so. You think Bolton has a bigger fanbase/fanbase potential due to the town of Bolton being bigger. I disagree due to how our fanbase has geographically changed in recent decades. So we might as well leave it there.
  2. If we only had our support coming from the town, then obviously. But we don’t. It’s about where the fanbase resides and much of ours has never resided within the boundaries of Blackburn or have moved out the town to outlying areas over the past 25 years as the town has fundamentally changed demographically. Bolton have 14k ST holders to our 9.5k due to them being half the price and the fanbase buying in to a ‘new dawn’, not because there are more folk residing in the town of Bolton over the town of Blackburn. History shows that our support has always been evenly matched… until the last couple of years.
  3. Well no, that was the opposite of my point as I gave the example of Blackburn being a bigger town and Borough than Burnley, but that isn’t the be all and end all as they attract fans across plenty of other towns… just like us. Bolton are not a potentially bigger supported club than us just because the town of Bolton is bigger than the town of Blackburn, as history has shown.
  4. I know you can, that’s my point. So not ‘bollocks’ then. 😁 Neither do I, and that is my big worry for the future of this football club, so thank god we have these non-Blackburn areas to pull from.
  5. Eh? Darwen, Rishton, Great Harwood, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, Clayton Le-Moors, Clitheroe, Haslingden, Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Hoghton, Mellor, Abbey Village, Balderstone, Samlesbury, Wheelton, Langho, Whalley etc etc.
  6. I know Bolton is a bigger town, but despite that they have rarely had bigger gates than us through history, which is fair enough as much of our support has always come from outside Blackburn (and evermore as demographics continue to change within the town). The reason they are suddenly leaving us for dead crowd wise is price.
  7. Lot of Rovers fans in south Ribble, in Hyndburn, in Ribble Valley etc. Like I said it’s not just about the ‘home’ borough.
  8. Us and Bolton have always matched up generally gates wise… until the last couple of years. Yes, Bolton Borough has a bigger population than BwD, but certain parts of their borough are Man Utd strongholds. Plus, a load of our fanbase have historically (and now increasingly) resided across plenty of other Lancashire boroughs. So it’s not simply a case of ‘bigger population’. (Same when the Dingles try and pretend they are getting 20k from the town of Burnley when in reality their fanbase stretches from Hyndburn across to West Yorkshire).
  9. And that’s a division in which half the clubs fetch 300 or so away fans.
  10. It was the standard view, I can’t remember anyone saying he couldn’t defend…
  11. Price, price, price. £219 a season ticket, our half STs cost more. We won’t be selling anywhere near Bolton’s amounts (even with a mighty twenty quid reduction for next season).
  12. Who thought Nyambe was ‘totally useless’? Good defender, poor going forward was the general vibe, no?
  13. Behave, Sparks 😁 TM derangement syndrome strikes again.
  14. Sheff Utd at home was a big game and a big win.
  15. I don’t ever give potential new owners a second thought, never a sniff of this lot giving it up as a bad job, so let them carry on pissing their money up the wall. Though imagine what that kind of money could’ve achieved instead of just chucking it into a Championship club black hole.
  16. And BBD has now decided to not bother with the box either. (Suppose it’s easier to avoid injury when twenty yards away from the opposition on the touchline).
  17. Can’t say I’ve seen much crying on here, more ‘congrats’ posted than vitriol. Never mind a guard of honour at Ewood, this place has provided a virtual one for Longers and co…
  18. That’s my point, he’ll be leaving because as a Championship club they won’t be able to/didn’t offer him anywhere near the same dosh. So he certainly wouldn’t come here!
  19. He’ll be after one last payday and if Norwich with parachute payments can’t offer it, we certainly won’t be able to.
  20. I’m not giving up, under TM I probably would’ve done, but JDT does have a knack of picking up a result when it looks like we are about to enter a death cycle.
  21. No arguments there, but blaming it on the players and absolving the manager of any responsibility is stretching it.
  22. No problem with that, but a loanee that’s buggering off in a few weeks and is only 23 himself?
  23. No the manager takes responsibility. He picks them, he sets the gameplan, he is the one that needs to adapt said plans during the game. I’m a big fan of JDT, but it was a piss poor performance and that’s ultimately on him - just like wins.
  24. Which shows his limitations… TK back tomorrow please, JDT.
