An established Premier League club couldn’t afford an 18 year old from the Championship who’s played a dozen or so games, aye ok.

The club in the 80s thought as big as was feasible - local businessmen doing all they could, and the fact we spent most of the decade knocking on the door of the top flight without a pot to piss in backs that up…contrast that with what these billionaires have overseen.

Jury’s out on GB for me, but I do think he has some professional standards and has already brought in some decent players. JDT is obviously a highly driven professional that’s been at the very top of the game… Unfortunately they (and the club) is being continually let down by the small time, amateur hour operation that Swag oversees.

The human nature element of players running down contracts is often ignored. Many a player will, even subconsciously, look to coast until the end of the season - doesn’t want an injury etc. Rothwell and BBD are prime examples, waste of time keeping them around if a decent offer is on the table.
