Ewood is no different than most other Championship grounds. -
Well, it’s certainly a view.
-
Totally ignored my ‘it depends’ rationale and gone off on a tangent, I see. It’s a big game for Blackburn Rovers and if you are someone with a history of purchasing Blackburn Rovers tickets (see tickets, plural, not just a singular Burnley game from a BB10 address in 2016 etc and not seen since) you should be allowed to buy one, end of story.
-
End of the day it’s the ‘Premier League 2 Cup’, a fairly recently made up competition to give a bit of variety to U21/reserve football. It’s not a prestigious competition going back to the early 1950s like the FA Youth Cup, so who gives a toss if JDT is utilising it like he already has been doing for PL2 league matches? If we end up in the *actual* PL, then this policy of keeping all the first team squad match fit will have been a masterstroke.
-
Both surely?
-
Long stopped being surprised with the commercial operation down there…
-
Oxford was 5 years ago, so not exactly recent. Of course question folk, just not a flat no if they are on the database but just haven’t been for a while. This is exactly the kind of game that might interest a lapsed Rovers fan, so we should be turning them away with swathes of empty seats to fill?
-
“Well done, they’re thirteen”
-
Depends doesn’t it. If the last time they went was another Burnley game in say 2016, they have a BB10 postcode and they ain’t been seen since then yes grounds for suspicion. If it was some fella from Darwen, who last went to, say, Oxford, then perhaps they just see this as the massive game it is and they fancy going - it would be some foresight you wouldn’t expect from a Dingle to have bought a ticket for a Rovers promotion game in 2018 on the off chance it would help them get a ticket for a derby in 2023! It’s a big game, so it is the exact kind of fixture you should expect lapsed fans to have their interests piqued for, so every potential purchase should be judged on its merits, not a blanket ‘well you ain’t been for a while, you must be a Burnley fan then, so sod off’.
-
What pubs are they?
-
Unfortunately as rational as all that is, players are often badly advised and make bad footballing decisions due to their ‘representatives’ who obviously purely want a bigger slice of a bigger pie, wherever that is.
-
Yeah thought you would think so 🙄 So it’s ‘common sense’ to turn down everyone *on* the database that hasn’t been for a while? Give over. With only 2k away support, £30-£35, midweek and Sky, there’s enough obstacles in getting in a decent crowd without putting up anymore. Anyone would think the club wanted a half empty ground…

Pretty sure anything under PL level is invisible to radar… -

He won 4 in 14 last season, with them already five points clear when he was appointed. Not exactly a wonder spell, was it. -
Hmm, but surely they shouldn’t be blanket turning down folk who haven’t been to a game for a while (especially if they are on the database), as isn’t this exactly the kind of game a lapsed fan might come out the woodwork for?
-
Oh but they’ll tell tales of it regardless… ’Thousands we had over they-er, all over the ground’.

I know, which is why I said their fanbase stretches from ‘Hyndburn to West Yorkshire’ -

Ince gone, no surprise there, not exactly the mastermind you want in a relegation battle.. -
What were we worrying about re empty seats? Not only are there 250,000 of them on their own database, they are all on ours too, full house it is!

There’s positives and negatives to moving him, but he’s not quite the same ‘dreadful’ JRC though, is he… -

They drop in an odd PL game at that time, understandable to an extent, as it’s kind of ‘event television’ as sport goes. But a second division game on a Saturday night? All very strange. -

Need some southern clubs relegated this season, Southampton, yes, but looks like Palace will do enough, and perhaps even Boscombe and West Ham. -

Decent sized fanbase have Luton, only club in Bedfordshire, certainly could substantially increase their gates in a bigger ground (even in the Championship). -

Kenilworth Road in the PL. 😁 The ‘stand’ that runs alongside the pitch that’s just plastic boxes, the entrance to the away end through folks’ back yards. You can just imagine the media anthropological pieces now… -

It is a tough run-in in general, but is Hull and Coventry at home as the next two a fiendishly difficult way to start? Mess them up and it’s probably all over, but get a couple of wins with a load of top 6 rivals to then play, we’ll have every chance.
