  1. He has obviously mentally switched off in recent weeks. He’s not a good enough player to do that and still perform to a decent standard.
  2. What isn’t true about those statements?
  3. Been a while since you’ve supped there then. Loads of good boozers (and why wouldn’t away fans be allowed in? My lot are every season). Just in the centre off the top of my head - Black Horse, Guild Ale House, Winkley Street Ale House, Plug n Taps, Moorbrook, Plau, Vinyl Tap, Orchard, NIKOS.
  4. Of course most won’t, social media will be ablaze with ‘Cant BELIEVE we only has 16,000 on for a Burnley game. Shit are Rovers fans’.
  5. He’s cutting a pretty pathetic figure. Either get down the leagues and actually learn your trade and stop living off your name or just give it up and get on the golf course.
  6. Whenever there is booing, a load of it is from N01… which is full of lads in their twenties.
  7. That’s just the way football crowds are. Part and parcel of being a pro footballer. Plus, a lot of these lads are well into their twenties. We are struggling to hang on in there because as well as some inexperience we are an average side that has been hobbled by poor recruitment in key areas. Those lads you mentioned were just better players all round.
  8. To be fair, it’s standard midweek pricing, we have 9.3k season ticket holders. So a 15k crowd would be fine for a red button Wednesday game considering the glut of home games we are in the midst of.
  9. I noticed the first few pages of the original thread on him were curry related puns. 😳
  10. Yep, the Reading game was such a strange game to make a £10. A midweek red button game in March, so obviously before the run-in had really ramped up.
  11. Most fanbases will defend their own to the hilt. Here? Plenty love engaging in ‘Yeah, our support is shit’ to whoever will listen in the pub, on Twitter…
  12. I’m talking about home prices. You can charge £30 - £40 for games because you’ve got limited number of walk on seats available… we haven’t.
  13. Same at every club. And how many have been doing it in recent home games, really? A hundred or so? We don’t half wring our hands over something and nothing.
  14. Doesn’t matter how inexperienced you are if you are a player intimidated by Ewood you may as well give it up as a career…
  15. Nearly every home game on TV since the World Cup and DDs are inaccessible to ‘a lot’… good job they reduced them by, err, twenty quid.
  16. So a player on £4,000 a week should turn down a 4/5 year deal on £40,000 a week because Joe Bloggs in some random office is on 28k a year? Err, ok…
  17. We see a lot of this coming, unfortunately those running the place never seem to…
  18. I think the club will be happy enough if 14/15k home fans or so turn up. Odd set up, ain’t it…
  19. The pickers n choosers will be missing out on a reight good drink around Preston though…
  20. It’s supply and demand, they can charge £30+ because they’ve around 14k ST holders and so only c4.5k home seats left for their walk ons. We have 9.3k ST holders, and with only 2k of away fans, theoretically nearly 20,000 empty seats, so £30-£35 is a ridiculous price for a Sky midweek game.
  21. They’ve sold the extra too, I believe. A club bang up for it. We need one of those early leads we used to get plenty of before the WC.
  22. Block K has just been added which is one of the end blocks I assumed wasn’t going to be put on sale (I.e why we got 4.5k instead of 5.5k). Have we been given a few more? If not, we must be down to a few hundred.
  23. We aren’t ‘most clubs’. Most clubs don’t have 17/18k empty seats every week. £30 to £35 was only a ‘good’ idea when there was a full DEnd of away support to fleece. With only 2k of them, what are they expecting to see for a midweek Sky game at those prices? As a standard we only ever usually get 4/5k walk ons for Dingle league games (and they are usually at weekends too) so of course with only c9.5k ST holders these days, this was always going to be the outcome. As an example in 2015/16 (our last league game with them at Ewood) there was 19,900 on with 4.5k away fans (so 15,400 home) It should have been £20 and a big push to fill as many of the 23,000 non DE seats as possible, but no, let’s still make it £30-£35 (even though there’s now no big away support to milk) and just expect them to sell themselves as it’s a derby. It’s turning out exactly how a few of us said when they went on sale. Alas, this is what happens when the powers that be fundamentally don’t understand their own fanbase.
