  1. He seemed to have very little time off post playing for Chile in mid June to being back at Brockhall, so maybe it was pre-agreed to have an extra week? (Or he’s sorting out his transfer chillaxing on one of those manufactured islands 🤔)
  2. Yet every dog has his day, ours was last season and you have to do everything you can to grasp that opportunity (I.e January) as it may never happen again… we didn’t.
  3. Accy and *checks notes*, Barcelona friendlies in the middle of the title winning season… everybody wanted a piece, obviously!
  4. Ha, pretty sure I don’t, it’s not exactly the enigma machine on here. But fair enough if you weren’t using upset fans as a reason to not act, though plenty of others have said exactly that from BBD’s contract to Rothwell getting sold
  5. Why do I keep reading on here attempted justification of the club’s inaction because brfcs.com would be upset if ‘player x was sold’, ‘if player y got a new deal’ The feelings of a few dozen folk on a website have bugger all to do with what is right for the club’s balance sheet and supposed operating model…
  6. There would be no ‘droves’ to start with. You honestly think there are thousands, not hundreds, not dozens, but thousands of folk still ‘boycotting’ because of the owners and will return the day they leave?
  7. Yep, Dyche-like in its impact. Two absolutely transformative managers elsewhere in east Lancs as we just stagnated year after year…
  8. If you honestly don’t think there are substantially more Stanley shirts, and less Rovers, especially on kids knocking around the Accy area than there was a decade ago then there’s not a lot else to say.
  9. Thousands would’ve come flocking if it’s been £100 this summer. Thousands will come flocking in the PL. Crowds are crap because we are bang average second division side with ridiculous ticket prices. Venky’s have caused all that, but it’s the shite and expensive product they provide that keeps folk away not Balaji bloody Rao himself!
  10. I know there is! But ‘lived’ is probably the right tense as there are a shed load more Stanley fans/shirts in Accrington and Clayton than a decade ago.
  11. Maybe don’t charge £430/£530 for any new or returning fan then…
  12. In the early days, yes. But is there any appetite from them to do so now? Suppose we’ll never know with FFP in place, but the state of non FFP impacted club infrastructure that is suffering from a chronic lack of investment, says not.
  13. So FFP is scrapped and Venky’s are suddenly buying players for millions of quid? A bit of a stretch.
  14. Yeah maybe don’t make it £430 to £530 for any potentially new or returning fans…
  15. Yes more Accy, Clayton really. And Huncoat always seemed to be full of Dingles anyway! Of course, Rishton and ‘Arrod is still very strongly Blue, but even there Stanley are doing far more community engagement in schools etc than we are, which is just ridiculous - but then maybe Swag thinks virtual young fans with their NFT’s are more important, so he’s happy to leave Accy to it…
  16. It’s all relative though isn’t it, Stoke, Boro may well have cut their wage bill by a fair bit, but if they still have a wage structure higher than ours, players we are fighting over still ain’t coming here…
  17. Do we pay the wages Stoke pay either? My point was generally more about, players going where the money is, the culture of a club won’t even be part of the conversation if you don’t get close to the going rate.
  18. Clubs I would say our are peers, I.e non parachute, top half clubs are seemingly offering much higher wages. In that case ‘the project’, ‘culture’, ‘vision’, ‘JDT’s leadership’ and all the rest of it, as worthy as it is, won’t even get a hearing.
  19. The ones I knew were never avid fans like saddos like us posting on brfcs and the like, but most had STs for years. Can’t understand it personally, but there they are on the Clayton End…
  20. Worth it just to get Joe Pesci out of retirement!
  21. The ones I know won’t, they aren’t ‘boycotting’, they’ve just gone supporting a club in their area. They don’t give Rovers a thought. Will the ones you mention go back either? Specifically Accy based lads? Once their kids start going too? Our heavily dominant position in Hyndburn has gone, probably for good. And that is very worrying for a club with a small catchment area to start with.
  22. Certainly was his approach to subs, just chuck the lot in; trainers, bedsheets, sofa cushions.
  23. Ha no, that was an actual true Mob story from ‘The Irishman’ film. Frank Sheehan was a hitman who would be hired with that code phrase - I.e paint with blood. The ‘Pine Barrens’ Sopranos episode was just a classic hour of comedy/drama as Chris and Paulie got the wrong end of the stick over a guy they were supposed to just collect some cash from and everything quickly goes wrong in the woods, just hilarious bit of TV.
