  1. I am keeping the faith, I’ve enjoyed the positive cricket of the past twelve months, this side obviously isn’t a million a miles away. But I’m also not burying my head in the sand and thinking it is all marvellous, there has been some reckless cricket on display and the Ashes is on the verge of being lost already.
  2. I’m going to Old Trafford, so I hope you’re right, but only Don Bradman’s side (in 1937) has overseen a comeback from 2-0 down in the history of the Ashes. So it’s looking very unlikely. *Ha great minds Ewood Ace!
  3. What’s that got to do with this series? Credit where it’s due, criticism where it’s due, that’s professional sport.
  4. Yes totally serious, unlike your silly hyperbole. Sensible tactics would have won the first test for starters.
  5. Ha classic Jim, can’t even agree without getting a dig in 😄
  6. ‘Traditional’ cricket like not declaring at 390 with one of the world’s best batsman flying?
  7. We lose this series to a thumping (and remember we haven’t even lost at all for 22 years) and it’s a failure of the tactics promoted by the coach and captain. It’s a results business (even if those two think it isn’t).
  8. We haven’t lost an Ashes series at home for 22 years, if we do so this time it is a failure of the captain and coach. That surely is unarguable?
  9. Civil as always 🙄 No everybody can’t just take a week off with a couple of weeks notice in peak holiday season. What a strange reply.
  10. Take it you don’t follow overseas England tours? It’s the football season!
  11. ‘I can afford it so what’s the problem?’
  12. JH obviously knew he could go personally, but also knew it could prove difficult for folk working somewhere else. Bit of empathy for the situation of others that another poster struggles with…
  13. Do you mind! How about last season when Dack et al were photographed in it next to some rusty metal in the Riverside? Or the year before when the shirt was hung on a coat hangar in the rafters of the JWU next to some bird shit.
  14. Do people usually criticise the price on here? Can’t say I remember that. Think most folk know that the cost is largely out of the club’s hands.
  15. Think you’ll find we are the ‘Riversiders’.👌
  16. Wouldn’t have thought so, Brentford weren’t (or the clubs Sturridge and Barton were at).
  17. The ‘problem’ with having it right in the middle of Lytham is the early acts often end up playing to small crowds due to a load of the punters still being in the plethora of pubs and bars!
  18. I didn’t, was late getting over with it being a work night. Hope they had a few in for it.
  19. Had a great couple of nights at Lytham Festival. Jamiroquai were as good as ever, Jay Kay’s put on a bit of timber like (but then he is in his 50s now), but a superb voice still. And Sting last night, always seems to be a slight figure of fun in this country, but he and his band were excellent (he looks in top nick for nearly 72 too!) - biggest crowd the festival has ever had last night too, so he must do something right!
  20. Unfortunately that is what we have now. One of the all time greats, but alas Father Time waits for no man, even though he’s outran him longer than most.
  21. Let’s see what happens when Swag finally fecks off, many ways to skin a cat when it comes to hitting a revenue target. We know what his is - milk the 8/9k for as much as he can get away with, bugger growing the fanbase, he’s a bonus to grab. A new broom on the commercial side could well go down another route… though he’s on the cushiest number of his long and undistinguished career here - so why would he leave? 😒
  22. I’ll give a couple of them the benefit of the doubt as it was in those few weeks that this thread had become WUM-ery central…
