  1. As there’s no Burnley away ticket panic to take advantage of this time I imagine we won’t be seeing 1875 club this coming season… his money grabbing schemes really are that transparent.
  2. Ha what did you delete Ulrich’s epic farewell post for 😁
  3. Attendances are absolutely booming in this country… with an odd exception, of course.
  4. You’ll be easy to spot at Ewood next season…
  5. What the bloody hell has that got to do with anything? Will we be given a bigger transfer and wage budget by the EFL due to us being a historic club?
  6. Love the optimism, Phil, but unfortunately we just haven’t got the players for the top two - and the sell to buy budget of this summer tells me we won’t have the players by the close of the window either…
  7. Not as simple as that at all, as the last two seasons have shown, we’ve spent pretty much two seasons in the top 6, yet home numbers have still struggled to move at all before the run in and even then we’ve struggled to get over 14k or so home fans in - why? because we’ve only had 7-9k ST holders. However, you reduce prices of STs, crowds are inflated for the entire season, regardless of League position as your base support in the ground is now higher - as repeatedly shown elsewhere. So if you now you have those inflated ST numbers AND you are at the top end of the table, suddenly you see *big* crowds again in the run-in as increased walk ons add to an already increased ST base. If we went up, it’s a totally different issue as we’d be selling a shed load of STs anyway, so crowds go up by a shed load - it’s as simple as that.
  8. SEVEN! 🎉 ‘The purchase rate is the best in five years’ - Swag’s letter to Glen.
  9. Because they are on record saying they don’t want to pay that kind of money, Mac Allister was a no brainier at his price.
  10. It is the only issue stopping us increasing sales to a PNE level of 12k or so. But of course the reason we don’t see 18-20k of ST sales anymore is obviously because we aren’t in the PL - but nobody here expects that, just that mere modest raise to 12k or so which is eminently possible if priced sensibly.
  11. Some fans will only come if we are in the PL (like every club), cost is also a big part of the current low sales - pretty much everybody else on here agrees with those two points, Doogs… so not sure why you’ve been saying the opposite for days.
  12. You’d have been straight back to your Prague hotel room for a cup of tea, I take it? 😁
  13. Many thousands walked away as a direct consequence of their behaviour between 2010 and 2012… but of the ones that have never returned, how many are still making a conscious decision to stay away because of the owners and would ergo be straight to the ticket office buying a ST tomorrow if they sold this evening? Very, very few, most of them are just simply long out the habit.
  14. When there was a clamour to re-name the Riverside, wasn’t his suggestion to just re-name a Brockhall pitch (of which there is a plethora of)? He then kicked it into his long grass with a trademark ‘I’ll look into it’ - that was about four years ago. This guy as the club figurehead 🤦‍♂️
  15. Bring back the Cup Winners Cup…
  16. It is rare on this board, but Doogs is fairly representative of a big chunk of our fans away from here. As an example, when back in my seat in August, if I mention our crowds/prices to the folk around me, pretty much to a man I’ll be told it’s because ‘we have shit support’.
  17. End of the day there will be no new ticket policies until we get a new CEO. Any new guy may well be tasked with the very same revenue targets, but there are obviously many ways to skin a cat, so said new broom could decide to go the Bolton/PNE route. Alas, we just need to grin and bear this commercial shit show until he *finally* fecks off.
  18. Course there is and that’s part of the reasons those other clubs have sold so many, as plenty of their fans will be in your boat, but at their prices they’ll buy one anyway - here it’s a much bigger decision to part with your cash if you know you’ll miss a half dozen games.
  19. As did every other club in the lower leagues in that era. There is nothing different in the water here, our prices are just double theirs.
  20. 15k Bolton and 11k PNE currently. That Bolton figure for yet another season in the third division is now higher than some of their Premier League seasons (wonder if price has owt to do with it?)
  21. Why? It’s a ST thread on a Rovers message board. But if you have ‘moved on’, luckily there’s plenty of other threads to frequent.
  22. The strangely forgotten mid season friendly in ‘94…
  23. That’s a little different to saying no footballers are fit.
  24. Reminds me of that poll that said something like ‘40% of American men think they could beat a bear in a fight’ 😁
