  1. When there was a clamour to re-name the Riverside, wasn’t his suggestion to just re-name a Brockhall pitch (of which there is a plethora of)? He then kicked it into his long grass with a trademark ‘I’ll look into it’ - that was about four years ago. This guy as the club figurehead 🤦‍♂️
  2. Bring back the Cup Winners Cup…
  3. It is rare on this board, but Doogs is fairly representative of a big chunk of our fans away from here. As an example, when back in my seat in August, if I mention our crowds/prices to the folk around me, pretty much to a man I’ll be told it’s because ‘we have shit support’.
  4. End of the day there will be no new ticket policies until we get a new CEO. Any new guy may well be tasked with the very same revenue targets, but there are obviously many ways to skin a cat, so said new broom could decide to go the Bolton/PNE route. Alas, we just need to grin and bear this commercial shit show until he *finally* fecks off.
  5. Course there is and that’s part of the reasons those other clubs have sold so many, as plenty of their fans will be in your boat, but at their prices they’ll buy one anyway - here it’s a much bigger decision to part with your cash if you know you’ll miss a half dozen games.
  6. As did every other club in the lower leagues in that era. There is nothing different in the water here, our prices are just double theirs.
  7. 15k Bolton and 11k PNE currently. That Bolton figure for yet another season in the third division is now higher than some of their Premier League seasons (wonder if price has owt to do with it?)
  8. Why? It’s a ST thread on a Rovers message board. But if you have ‘moved on’, luckily there’s plenty of other threads to frequent.
  9. The strangely forgotten mid season friendly in ‘94…
  10. That’s a little different to saying no footballers are fit.
  11. Reminds me of that poll that said something like ‘40% of American men think they could beat a bear in a fight’ 😁
  12. Oh he is saving face as when he engineers it to somehow beat last summer’s figure through use of his magic abacus he’ll be all over the LT (and more importantly to Pune) saying how it’s ‘the best figures in years’ etc etc… all an arse covering exercise, bonus nicely banked and those comps will have come in handy.
  13. I’ve no real issue with that as even in the good old days comps were added to the figure, so fair enough to include them now… though with such pitiful figures now, it has the added bonus of helping the CEO save face too.
  14. Football isn’t a normal industry, the money and profile higher level players and managers have gives them power. JDT had walked before and his agent already seems busy, so I doubt he’ll be showing undue homage at the Pune Palace.
  15. You imagine it will be a trickle now (if not flowing backwards 😁) until a slight spike at June payday at these prices… unless some decent signings start arriving.
  16. Halved shirts are our USP, so for me we should have variations on that theme as our away kit pretty much every season…
  17. We did it until Swag arrived, didn’t we? ‘Premier Pledge’.
  18. Evidence please (as you seem to like asking it of everyone else) of Bolton and PNE being better supported prior to these big price reductions… anyone might think there’s a connection here. Oh and I won’t disregard your evidence like you are with everyone else when you are provided with plenty.
  19. A ‘case study’ was my shorthand for actual examples of reduced prices increasing gates at comparable local clubs… but you knew that. Well I think I do deserve it, just like you do John, that’s why we have a civilised forum here compared to most.
  20. So if we are better supported than those two it stands to reason that we’d have a bounce in crowds that would blow those two out the water if we reduced them to a sensible level - another reason to do it then! Sorry don’t get the last paragraph? Why wouldn’t an away end for a cup QF sell out?
  21. Oh I see, you are being purposely obtuse now. Think you know what I mean by ‘active case studies at local clubs’ considering the extra bums on seats at two grounds to our west and south, but however you get your kicks, John.
  22. He brought up the 4k thing, so a bit of a bizarre emoji to use 😁
  23. Swag won’t be convinced because it is not a dead cert to hit his revenue targets like 7/8k at his inflated prices, so he won’t take the risk. He has made that very clear to both the LT and FF. Why are active case studies at two very similar local clubs ‘nonsense’?
  24. Bolton better supported? Since when? 😁 Have a look through the history books if you want proof that that’s nonsense. Now you are trolling. You’ve asked for proof, we’ve given you two local clubs with similar fanbases *right now* proving it and an example here in a previous era - what more proof do you need?
  25. PNE have, Bolton have. One is knocking around the second tier like us, the other is in the third division. Last season proved the opposite, we’ve spent two seasons knocking on the door of the PL and the crowd moved upwards only minimally, that tells you that we haven’t got enough ST holders to see bumper crowds even when chasing promotion - why, price?
