  1. Wrong end of the stick then, I thought you were saying ‘every fucker would be back like a shot if we got to the POs/promotion?’ Who are the fuckers that are coming back then if not lapsed fans?
  2. That’s just not the case unfortunately. We lost nearly 10,000 ST holders on relegation (a ridiculous amount not seen elsewhere, the Ke*n effect), a load of those will never step foot in Ewood again. Not a protest, not a boycott. They’ve just moved on in life. Now that doesn’t mean there isn’t a new generation of floating fan (or long-standing floater) that ‘pick their games’ who wouldn’t be straight on the ST bandwagon on promotion, but many of those long departed ST holders from a decade ago wouldn’t be a part of it…
  3. Wouldn’t just be the big Spanish two either. Italian clubs, ‘big fish in small pond’ clubs like Rangers, Celtic, Ajax, Benfica etc would also jump at it.
  4. They were still occasionally training on Pleckgate field (pretty much my back garden then) as late as the summer of 1994.
  5. I was musing generally…
  6. Clubs make up injures all the time. Want away players out the side with these calf/thigh/groin strains that miraculously clear up as soon as they move…
  7. To be fair, every forum I’ve ever read is *exactly* like this…
  8. But they’ll still attract players over esteemed sides in countries like Italy when they can offer double, treble the wages…
  9. No point, K-Hod. Yer man just takes every bit of PR guff at face value, so if the official line from a Man City is ‘no ESL’, that is therefore set in stone and couldn’t possibly ever change due to the avarice of those involved…
  10. There aren’t *thousands* of fans ‘across the water’ waiting for the owners to go so they can triumphantly return to Ewood. By the time they do go it will probably have been 20+ years, a generation. Most of said thousands of fans will have long moved on.
  11. Not forgotten with the fanbase. ‘The club’ whatever that is these days is another matter.
  12. Whilst the TV revenues are booming for the PL there isn’t much need for the English uber clubs to rock the boat, but if/when they start to decline, combining with the European elite clubs then makes sense…
  13. Last summer, with a new manager and a bit of a ‘new dawn’ feel around the place, PNE-esque season ticket prices would have seen substantially more than our pitiful 9k sold. This summer coming, make them £250-£299 etc and I think we’ll still struggle. As you say it’s a combination of enticing pricing with a positive vibe towards the club that brings people in, be that league position, ambition in the transfer market or both.
  14. Problem is he doesn’t give a flying feck about the long term health of the fanbase. Hit his revenue target (and bonus) for a couple of more years by just rinsing the remaining c8k for as much as possible and then drive off into the retirement sunset with the dilapidated shack that is BRFC in the rear view mirror.
  15. ‘It’s [not] a results business’, the unique Blackburn Rovers approach to professional football.
  16. Obviously isn’t about results for you as those types of managers are ‘dinosaurs who I don’t want here.’
  17. When the surrounds of the ground were a complete shit tip the other year, didn’t they come out with some flannel as to why it had got like that (and why nobody could wander around with a couple of bin bags) due to a ‘ten year maintenance plan’ or some other nonsense. So expect a new bulb for 2033…
  18. So if they don’t want to go straight back up why were they demanding Dean Smith’s sacking when they fell out the top 6?
  19. Birmingham was the highest home turnout for an early round tie for donkey’s years. It was a good turn out, ergo it did work. It’s called context, were they expecting an Oxford crowd or something for a January cup game against a fellow Championship team (obviously not as they didn’t even open the Riverside) ?! The lack of knowledge on display there, and these people get to run our football club? Jesus.
  20. What’s the general vibe on the FF, K-Hod? Is it heads in the sand stuff re crowds etc? ‘We agree Steve, what else can you do?’ Or is there a robust exchange with him?
  21. Birdy and crew will probably lobby for a disloyal fan like him to be removed from the FF instead…
  22. Or if you want to wax lyrical unhindered on page after page of a Blackburn Rovers forum with like minded fans about what a great side Burnley are, do get involved.
  23. Any paint left in that corner, Joe? 😁
  24. ‘Ei Ei Ei O, a soft reset in 12th we go…’
  25. I take it they are happy when they lose games then? Don’t want to win too many matches and risk that goal of a ‘soft reset’ by going up…
