  1. I can believe it! Feels like a lifetime ago that we were a PL club, indeed watching old clips I sometimes feel like I’m watching another club entirely…
  2. Well, I’ll believe it when I see it. Clubs like Man Utd missing out on the CL this year will certainly not help the cause of fairness…
  3. I read the other day that the coefficient plan is going to be dropped
  4. Today’s LT is largely just quoting TM’s presser, but Sharpe is certainly unequivocal that this is his last game.
  5. No chance he’ll go to a Hartlepool, League 2? His ego wouldn’t allow it. Like I put on a different thread yesterday, remember when he said he wouldn’t manage even in League 1 again as he ‘doesn’t enjoy it and it doesn’t fit his style of management’.
  6. The problem a lot of you have on here is that you struggle to realise that a lot of fans just want to watch a team in blue and white at Ewood Park. They aren't obsessives like the saddos posting on an Internet forum at 9.40pm on a Friday night, who pour over every development from Balaji Rao down. They see owners seemingly keeping the club afloat, they read about ‘X million pumped in’ in the LT every few months (the only place they read Rovers news), those cash injections the only thing keeping us from ‘being the next Bury’. They see a bloke who usually has the club bobbing around in second division mid table year after year, kept on year after year - so that’s obviously good enough for the club and the ceiling of its ambitions, and they’ve dialled down their expectations accordingly. You want to talk about who to blame for this atrophy? They all reside in Pune.
  7. To be fair, it isn’t just younger fans that don’t know any different that fit SuperBRFC’s description, it’s the vast majority of the match going fanbase. BRFCS is very much an outlier…
  8. Certainly doesn’t lack belief in his own abilities, bit like in League 1 when he used to say how his management wasn’t suited to such a low level..
  9. Not even that, standard things like actually confirming the present incumbent is actually going a full week after he announced he was…
  10. The Vito storyline always felt a bit forced, good idea generally to delve into attitudes and how the Mafia reacts to to that kind of thing, but it didn’t quite work for me, but I thought the others you mentioned worked well. The film storyline was hilarious, any scene with Little Camine in it always was, people can forget how bloody funny the show was too. No show is absolutely perfect, always something to quibble about, but generally speaking, it was glorious…
  11. Incorrect Nuttall. An odd season there was c18k home fans, specifically around the mid to late 2000s, at times plenty more, I.e 1994 to relegation and 2001 to 2003. We also had c20,000 ST holders in the couple of years before Venky’s took over (we began this season with just over 7,000).
  12. However this area and country isn’t crawling with Plastic Madridistas, so frankly I couldn’t care less about any of that. #loscatorce
  13. That doesn’t mean the fanbase is small, it means there’s a shed load who are outside the tent after walking away over 12 years of mismanagement, so how about an ambitious appointment to help draw some back?
  14. Bugger that! I certainly don’t want to have to listen to Plastics who couldn’t find Anfield if you dropped them in Stanley Park talking about ‘7 times’ ¡Hala Madrid!
  15. ‘Gav style argumentative’, no I just disagree with you. If you think this is a professional way to run a football club, and that incudes the lot of them, TM, Swag, owners, then fair enough, but it’s a long way from one from my perspective…
  16. Am I? Why? Makes no difference at all to my point that the club is a rudderless farce. Hadn’t made their mind up with one game of his contract left! Sounds about right.
  17. Oh come off it Rev, ‘engineered by Mowbray’, he’s a two Bob football manager not some kind of tactical mastermind (we’ve all seen evidence of that on the pitch). The club should’ve been straight out with a statement days ago, like every other football club in the history of the game, your idols in Pune are still overseeing an utter farce…
  18. Only at this club can a manager say he’s leaving and a week later still not a peep from ‘the club’, but yes its obviously because said manager is a ‘devious bastard’. Indeed it’s that much of farce, Sharpe is reporting a totally different press conference than the club’s social media, I.e Sharpe - ‘Mowbray states 10 managers will be in the stand’ etc, whilst the club just ignores the elephant in the room...
  19. We just had 21,000 for a dead rubber second division game, we do not have a ‘very small fanbase’. But we certainly have a limited one due to our demographics and the plethora of other clubs in the hotbed of the game which is Real Lancashire… so more fool this regime for driving 10,000 ST holders away, but of course an ambitious appointment can start to right those wrongs…
  20. And I’m sure the Newcastle fans are delighted, still doesn’t mean it’s good for the wider game…
  21. ‘Achhtually it was the “EFL Insider” Twitter account’
  22. So you’d rather have an inferior appointment than a ‘Dingle’’? He’s a professional football manager from Kettering, not a ST holder from Padiham.
  23. Another petrol doped club pulling away from the rest, deep joy!
  24. Thought he was desperate to ‘live down south’? In Rothwell’s spare room, presumably…
