  1. All professional footballers in the Championship will have a comfortable lifestyle, however every player wants that ‘big deal’ that sets them and their family up for life. Rothwell has just bagged his.
  2. And red has very much been a part of many a home shirt too. Game of opinions, but an odd one that DC!
  3. So it was ok for you to continually ‘piss and moan’ last season, but if someone does that this summer they are ‘negative’, ‘just like the LT comments’, ‘drama queens’ etc? Fair enough if you now have faith we are entering a bright new dawn, and thus a new found *positive mindset*, but it’s a bit of a brass neck for you of all people (unlike someone like Mani, who to be fair to him, never sways from his life mantras) to start calling folk out, who in *their opinion*, haven’t yet seen enough (any?) evidence that we have reached these sunlit uplands…
  4. Other malt based bedtime drinks are available…
  5. You can have two mutually exclusive thoughts on Nyambe. Has him and his agent made a bit of a Horlicks of it if he ends up with his tail between his legs on similar/slightly improved money at bloody Wigan? Yes. Has a club with little dosh lost a solid Championship right back, and are now without a recognised one with a week till kick off? Also yes.
  6. Didn’t you spend all last season doing just that?
  7. It will, and as other posters have seen it all before, so need to be convinced that anything has remotely changed at the only executive level that *actually* matters at this club, maybe time will tell that they weren’t ‘hysterical’ at all…
  8. You’ve answered your question with your last sentence. Lambert mk II.
  9. I’ll flip it round, why so much confidence, in contrast to ‘hysterical’ other posters, that it will be all hunky dory by the window closing? When did we last bring in a ‘quality’ outfield permanent signing?
  10. I’m confused, as our ever growing group of brfcs/CEO conduits keep telling us that the hierarchy are delighted as things are *much improved* at the club?
  11. It is what it is, a convoluted sign off structure and hardly any transfer budget can only lead to the club chasing its tail. So obviously you have to largely rely on loans when the PL clubs decide to let them go (usually late on). Does this mean relegation? No, because the Championship outside the parachute clubs is much of a muchnesses every season. But with this model we are performing an annual dice rolling and hoping that year’s loans and academy grads will be up to it - one year they may well not be
  12. Did make me laugh that he is all… ‘I can’t say this’ , ‘I’m not at liberty to say that’, when as you say, it’s just standard stuff that ends up in the FF minutes anyway. Ah well, at least he got to strut around the forum like a peacock the past week pre his verrryyy important meeting. 😁
  13. 1864 and darren RN…
  14. 233 pages of speculation and hand wringing… and then, as always, a load of loans will come in last minute.
  15. I know all that, doesn’t mean they aren’t glory hunters, as they wouldn’t have thousands of fans in every town if they had never got any bigger than Queen’s Park or Partick, whatever the history.
  16. Blackburn town centre was a sight, they opened up the Cav before the game… at least there were plenty of places for a sup back then!
  17. We won’t be throwing 6/7 in, obviously! I’m just responding to JBN’s hypothetical view that he wouldn’t be worried about relegation if we did… I would!
  18. Of course we should, and will, be blooding more youngsters. But they have to be helped along with experienced pros, that’s just how it is in top level football. For all their ability, a team needs that nous, game management and sometimes physical presence, as some young lads develop physically later, that only experience provides. The fact we are even having this conversation says a lot to how nature abhors a vacuum…
  19. Maybe because unless a club is in severe financial distress, in administration etc, most clubs don’t start a season in the Championship with the team made up of 6/7 players plucked out the youth team.
  20. Easy enough selling out a 50/60k ground when pretty much every town in Scotland is full of glory hunters in either blue or green and white hooped shirts instead of their local club’s…
  21. He’d still be here now if back in 2018 his agent had wrangled a contract to June 2023 instead of June 2022.
  22. The only similarity he has with John Williams is that he is a very gregarious character, you can see evidence of that in the way he works the room in the Premier Suite etc. Those that have met him one on one say similar. So I can certainly see how he can send people away feeling positive about the club’s direction… however JW actually had a track record behind the bravado, this fella has overseen one shambles after another and no amount of good natured corporate waffle and bluster can hide that fact.
  23. He must put something in the coffee…
  24. ‘Venky’s’ is a chicken brand used by the VH Group, a conglomerate owned by the Rao family (Venky’s London Limited being the vehicle owning BRFC). Like saying ‘The WalkersSteels just bought Alan Shearer’
