  1. Good local firm (Ronset) printed them too, I think. I know they did a lot of other stuff for the club. Watching a grand old institution that was pulled up by its bootstraps by Jack, after decades of local businessmen doing everything it could for the club, now atrophying rapidly under individuals that couldn’t give a toss. It’s horrible to witness.
  2. Whatever happened to ‘Les’ who was phoning around season ticket holders to see if they’ll be back? Swag will presumably be ‘looking into’ his findings… whilst deleting the document.
  3. Sounds as if a hard copy match day programme is the next for the chopping block.
  4. It’s still shockingly poor organisation to have a skeleton staff working on what, with STs, hospitality and new kits etc is probably the busiest week of the year for sales
  5. Until Hartlepool just got back up, the last few years has seen just THREE league clubs in the whole of the north east of England - in contrast there’s about 15 league clubs in a 40 mile radius of Blackburn So of course Sunderland have a sizeable catchment area to draw from, not sure how that equates to being more ‘passionate’ than anyone else. Indeed it makes old/real Lancashire by far the biggest heartland of the game.
  6. I would think so. We always get a higher than standard crowd on the opening day due to a bigger number of walk ons than on a normal Saturday, that will be amplified post an 18 month absence. West Brom on the 21st will give us a better idea on how bad it’s going to be in home areas this season.
  7. So let me get this straight. On the final Saturday before we kick off with a home fixture (in the middle of the holiday season too), the club shop - that has just put on sale two well received new shirts, AND also doubles up as the ticket office (with the club scrambling to sell even a semi-respectable number of STs) was shut? Let’s face it, we are a million miles away from a competitive Championship set up in every department.
  8. Third division Bolton now with 10,000 sold… double Blackburn Rovers. Not a lot more to say, is there.
  9. Wasn’t aware that driving them out of town with pitchforks was ever ‘my way’? Just a normally run football club was all I’ve ever wanted, I’d have been delighted for these owners to provide it, I’ve always held out hope they would eventually come to their senses. But good to see you’ve realised you had your pants pulled down like the rest of us… just took you a fair bit longer.
  10. So you are relived we can still pay the leccy bill. Fair enough, not sure that was the barometer of success you outlined for this regime in 2011 when you were taking the piss out of those with grave concerns, but hey ho.
  11. I’m asking about the state of the club now, not some hypotheticals.
  12. So… ten years on, remembering that you ridiculed those with grave concerns about the direction of the club. Opinion on the state of Blackburn Rovers, ES?
  13. Langho is full of Rovers fans and is part of the Blackburn post town… oh and it contains a fully functional top class training and Category A academy in a beautiful part of the county… so it needs flogging off and something inferior built in an area covered by BwD, because?
  14. I bet. 🙄 Certainly a well timed re-emergence to a board (and certainly this particular thread) you vowed never to return to.
  15. He only gets listed as a member on the minutes from October’s meeting onwards.
  16. With the rumours on the transfer topic, thought I’d resurrect the thread I started less than 6 months ago. There was a consensus that we’d only won the opening battle, though I’m sure we all didn’t expect it to rear its head this quickly (less than 4 months ago the plan was ‘withdrawn’). They should all hang said heads in shame, absolute disgrace.
  17. So why does anybody ever make what is on paper a ‘sideways move’ then? Because there’s more to a job than just a title. You move for a better set up, more ambitious organisation, better working conditions, maybe more money, better pension, better bonuses, more job security. A million reasons.
  18. Maybe, but it will all be a bit late for the penny to drop with third division football, 5,000 crowds, a team of kids and Brockhall gone. (Though I still expect ‘the fans’ to get most of the blame for ‘not getting behind the club’)
  19. Yet, if you take a straw poll at Ewood on Saturday, I’d wager you’d find the owners have never been as popular. They’ll complete their 10 year wrecking job with fans eating out of their hands.
  20. I made a vow to not watch or listen to anything related to the abomination that is ‘The Hundred’ and it has helped my rage levels immensely. By the same token I’ve not read or watched/listened to anything coming out of the mouth of this fella all pre season, here’s hoping I can keep it up until he finally departs.
  21. It’s looking ominous. The fact when it was brought up in the Fans Forum, the response was just ‘no update’. No commitment to the site as it stands or a mea culpa of any sort.
  22. I’d say it’s deeper than that. I’ll use my dad as an example, he’s always been a glass half empty type, saw Venky’s as an existential threat almost straight away. I can remember him post that West Ham game at Ewood in the snow very early on under Kean saying the ‘club is in danger here’. Walking up Bolton Road after Wigan saying ‘I’ll never see us in the PL again’. Post Brentford, ‘there won’t be a Rovers in a decade’s time’ So, you’d imagine such a fella would be aghast with what’s happened over the past couple of years? Not a bit of it, now he seems to just accepted that we are now a non event of a football club, he had a go at the fans for not buying STs, he won’t have a word said against Mowbray. He’s not alone, most of my away match crew are of the same mind. These owners have done far more harm than just driving thousands away, they’ve lowered expectations and standards across the board - and it’s why Brockhall will eventually be flogged off with minimal protest.
