  1. Two years was always the case up to around the millennium when clubs suddenly saw the £ signs and switched to two/three new kits every summer. But sure I read the other week that a few clubs are reverting back to a two year home kit.
  2. Think Gav may have a point. Can’t say I’ve come across many Rovers fans that would write ‘The Venkeys’…
  3. If they are such good owners why is the club in this sorry state?
  4. I’m not having a go at TM for it, good for him, what football manager wouldn’t want to have a say in the appointment of his Director of Football and CEO? It’s ‘the club’ (whatever that is these days) itself that is allowing such conflicts of interest to take root, it’s not healthy and it’s why we end up with managers carrying on in post long after it’s gone stale. But when you have an organisation as hollowed out as this one, it’s no surprise.
  5. Rovers had extensive interest in the post [87 serious applicants], but Park has been selected as the man to lead the club’s recruitment plans moving forward. Well I never!
  6. Travis was 21 before he got a proper run of games. So I’m not too bothered about Butterworth’s age at this stage… but he just has to stay injury free for a sustained period to actually fulfil this undoubted potential and back injuries can often prove chronic.
  7. It happens here every season, I.e going into the first friendly with no new kit for the players, never mind on sale. Though usually goes fairly unnoticed as we’d been with Umbro for years so they’d just trot out in a shirt from the previous campaign. All part of the slapdash operation down there.
  8. Let’s have it right, that wasn’t ever going to actually happen, and Jim & Dan know it, but great for the likes and re-tweets though.
  9. Oh yes Gav-la! The French onion soup is worth the trip alone 😋
  10. Always enjoy Rolo’s bi-annual truth bombs…
  11. Yet, the big numbers watching the live streams of the CC shows the interest is still there… if only the ECB harnessed it.
  12. From memory he said exactly that pre a game live on Sky last season.
  13. Any particular reason they are training in Stirling of all places with facilities that look worse than ours?
  14. It’s very easy to talk about how ‘honourable’ you are and how you ‘won’t be a burden’ at 99% of football clubs as you know you’ll generally be out on your ear and paid up before you’d ever be in the position to have to act on such platitudes. Here, he’s realised that no tap on the shoulder is ever going to come so his ‘fall on my sword’ routine seems to have been shelved, most strange…
  15. Right had enough now. Second time you’ve said that, please retract it.
  16. A combination of TM, the squad and the ramshackle set up of this club, means you must be in cloud cuckoo land if you think we have a chance of going up…
  17. There’s a difference between you believing that millions of quid being pumped in should mean the club aims for promotion. But you actually believe this squad of players is good enough to do it?
  18. QEGS is probably 75%+ Asian these days, yes. But I digress. I’d say some of the problem will be lack of walk on crowds or weekend drinkers. Clubs like Darwen, Enfield, Lowerhouse etc attract big crowds for their 20/20 evening games etc. Even historically much smaller clubs like Cherry Tree, Feni have a packed clubhouse night after night. There just isn’t that local demographic in the Dukes Brow/Revidge area anymore that will wander to East Lancs for some beers or to watch a game.
  19. Following the lead of the Old Blacks, St Mary’s College, Hole it’h Wall. So much heritage in north Blackburn, especially in sport with Blackburn Olympic and Alexandra Meadows going back to the very foundation of association football. Yet, demographics are destiny.
  20. You said ‘last few years’. Obviously it isn’t as toxic as 2011 to 2013, but Christ that’s a low bar to gauge against.
  21. Of course. Rev showed over Brockhall what a targeted protest and PR campaign can do. There are lots of potential avenues to take, but we need to move away from the constant cries of ‘empty ground’, ‘total boycott’ to tactics that are achievable.
