  1. Steve Kean was one of, if not the biggest disaster in the history of this football club, we see the consequences to this very day. Any Rovers fan that even mentions him in the same sentence as TM or pretty much anybody else has lost all perspective, but oddly TM seems to have that effect on quite a few on here…
  2. Worse than Kean? Come off it.
  3. The ground is far too big for a middling Championship club in a town like Blackburn. And as we won’t be anything better than a middling Championship club anytime soon… the ground is too big.
  4. Being Tony Parkes Day, will Swag have found that can he kicked down the road three years ago re permanent tribute?
  5. Considering we sold record half STs and thousands extra were walking on post November says different. It doesn’t look like it makes much difference because a. the ground is far too big and b. we’ve lost so many ST holders that those extra walk ons are just plugging gaps where ST holders once were. But where I do agree is, when our STs finally go on sale in June at £400-£500+, swapping TM for some other steady Eddie (or a Coyle esque appointment) won’t make a blind bit of difference after finishing, say, 8th and hardly winning a game for months.
  6. ‘Well they stayed up on the last day’. Don’t think that will have been in his PowerPoint presentation for his interview’…
  7. Can’t wait for the Xg Cup presentation against Bournemouth. Reckon we’ll get an Oxford level crowd in?
  8. We sell c12k STs, add your walk ons and aways, you’d be looking at 16k MINIMUM crowds each week, touching 20k+ for big games… just like mid table third division Bolton are already seeing. Just imagine the difference that would make to Ewood, how much more vibrant it would be… yet is anybody at BRFC from the owners down remotely interested in getting there? Doesn’t look like it. 12 years of this stasis and more of the same this summer as we limp to c50% of the sales of the mighty Bolton… ’exciting changes coming’, indeed.
  9. As O2G said last night, big trouble if Everton go down, real feel of Leeds post 2004…
  10. You are being very disingenuous here, Gav. Copper oversaw vast cutbacks at Swansea and wasn’t sacked, he just couldn’t be arsed with even more player sales from under him, fair enough. They were competitive throughout. Forest were bottom, they’ve charged to a chance of automatic promotion in half a season. The bloke is obviously a good manager and will follow the trajectory of Potter at Brighton.
  11. Reading between the lines of 1864s post, whatever the plans are, they certainly don’t seem as positive as the ITK-ers were hinting they would be a few months ago…
  12. To be fair, you get more of that stuff from LFC fans than Everton, I’ve always found…
  13. Jordan Rhodes must be one of the biggest earners there’s been to only ever have played a handful of top flight games. Fair play to him!
  14. Sorry I don’t get your stance at all, you have rounded on anybody that has dared to criticise the club or owners since you emerged form Swag’s office a year ago or whenever it was… but you are now trying to say you want regime change? Have you told Waggott this?
  15. You post daft opinions, you will get called out for them. Isn’t that just message boards since time immemorial? I’d literally never spoken to a mod before the last couple of months, yet now! And my posting style hasn’t changed in 20 years, so go figure.
  16. Hang on, a certain poster could patronise posters repeatedly who questioned the appointment, yet a light hearted post about said poster’s opinion gets deleted? Honestly, this place and the protection he gets, it really is getting pathetic. If you can’t take it, don’t dish it out!
  17. How much of a percentage was it then? Because it was certainly substantial. Yes, it didn’t get off the ground, because of a vicious backlash and local opposition in Langho, not because they saw the errors of their ways. We know the total 180 you’ve done on these owners, and that’s up to you. But you need to lay off the patronising tone with others that quite rightly still have big reservations with this regime, you know, because of their actions over many, many years (I.e the attempted sell off just a year ago, yes a year, not a decade).
  18. They must’ve been reading Chaddy’s posts…
  19. Always been 100% committed to the Academy, have they? So the club’s published plans just last year was trying to reduce its footprint by half with scaled down facilities that would have meant the likely loss of Cat A, because…
  20. It wasn’t my rumour, but a typically childish reply to someone that is very proud of our Academy and doesn’t want it diminished in any way… and lest we forget this was a regime that was trying to flog off Brockhall a year ago, so no wonder fans would get spooked by rumours in the same ball park…
  21. BB was 20 when he was struggling, always had a much greater potential to improve, England youth international etc. SG is nearly 27, isn’t getting any better (he’s regressing in many ways) and never had much in the way of pedigree to start with.
  22. Positions in football are obviously far more fluid than the rigid days of Four, Four, Fecking Two! So all the ‘square peg in round holes’ lament you often hear does show how many fans struggle to adapt to the modern game. However, that doesn’t mean stubbornness/arrogance of managers is not also a factor with some players/tactics, where it is blindingly obvious that it isn’t working, exhibit A - the fish on a bicycle that is Sam Gallagher out wide.
  23. ‘Any message for the fans after beating your arch rivals, Tony?’ ’No’.
  24. So he could get another Championship job then? Not what I have repeatedly read. This board needs to realise that he has massively re-built his reputation here. He’s ‘stabilised’ and ‘re-built’ that ‘mad club with the Chicken people’. Done a ‘great job with little money’. Folk on here may disagree, but that’s what the view will be ‘in the game’, he will without doubt be in line for other second tier jobs.
