  1. The way it is these days. We just aren’t going to get the crowds we’d all like to see for mid table Championship football with £300-£400 season tickets.
  2. 12,500 home fans today. 11,000 against Doncaster on the opening day last season. So if we generally have an extra 1,500 fans turning up on last year, then I suppose that’s ok considering the price hike.
  3. You could do, or just wait until they go on general sale on Monday, no chance they’ll sell out...
  4. I presume that was posted to be ironic?
  5. You don't 'need' to win any game unless you get relegated/miss out on promotion by not winning it. However, on paper August seems to have given us a fairly soft landing in the league and we want to be taking advantage, especially with a tough looking September...
  6. I never get the 'if I can't sit/stand in my seat I'm not going'. I've been in my seat for nearly 25 years, I too would be narked and I'd have a good grumble if my area was closed, but give up watching my club over it, never (yes this is easy for me to say because they won't be closng the BBEnd lower, but I can promise you!) However, without doubt the club has missed a trick here, a decent bit of PR could have been something like; 'With the Darwen End now away supporters only, we invite all singers to join our new Barmy Army (or a better title ha!) section, bring your banners and flags!'
  7. And that’s the view most probably had in June. So where has all this £4million stuff come from?
  8. I’m sure that’s the intention, that’s not what his point was at the time.
  9. I thought you said earlier in the window that fans just needed to be patient? Didn’t quite work out ay? But still, have a pop at other posters like seems to be your way these days...
  10. The cricket became secondary a while ago. Just look at the collapse in memberships, the dreadful marketing outside the Roses T20. Amazes me that Notts, who are one of three clubs in the relatively small east midlands, consistently pull in considerably bigger crowds across all formats than the whole north west's only first class club.
  11. We've not spent much more than last summer so far, so lets not get giddy. Why would any of these supposed 'negative' posters care less about their chips being pissed on? We all want Blackburn Rovers to prosper, if we didn't we wouldn't be spending work time, leisure time, family time, all our bloody time F5-ing this message board! Some folk on here remember very well that we have been repeatedly burnt by these owners, so they are wary. It doesn't mean they don't trust Mowbray, or doesn't mean they don't think the club is generally in a better place than it was a couple of summers ago (we don't even need to delve into the fiasco of summer 2016) . Just remember, we thought the club had turned a corner in 2014, when we had a load of good Championship players, increasing season ticket sales, a club frontman (Myers) saying all the right things, a load of good PR - how did that work out? And if you get pleasure out anonymous people on the internet supposedly being upset by their club buying players, then good for you, I suppose...
  12. Not sure that's quite true these days, I'm pretty sure a lot of these new 'Ultras sections' for want of a better word that are springing up in a lot of English grounds have been encouraged by the clubs themselves - Huddersfield and Bristol City spring to mind
  13. Jazzy Kex! My mate's uncle owned it, so we always got in for nowt. Great place to go to avoid the Cav crowd.
  14. First few pages of this thread are a laugh, I remembered that Mowbray wasn’t exactly a popular appointment on here - understandable in many ways after he’d had a lean few years. But more due to the love in for Nigel Adkins!
  15. It was the fawning over Jorge Mendes that made me turn over...
  16. There's a lot of site traffic with visitors (especially around transfer windows and matchdays) and a hardcore of posters keep a few threads busy, but are there as many regular posters as there once was? I don't think so.
  17. 5.30 Sky game for Villa, so not sure they will.
  18. Don't think he'll have a problem at all, his reputation can only be enhanced after what he's put up with there.
  19. From memory the Blackpool Gazette reported it earlier in the summer.
  20. It doesn’t say anything, just what we already know, I.e basket case, Bowyer paying for training faciltities etc. They've no intel to why he finally walked yesterday.
  21. Around 2006-2007, one or two seasons, just before the Taking Back Ewood campaign.
  22. Course it will, no code of Omerta at Bloomfield Road!
  23. Whatever the reasons it meant we didn’t strengthen, ergo we fell away.
  24. Supposedly he had a meeting with Oyston today - being transfer deadline week, perhaps he was told nobody can be brought in or someone to be sold was the final straw? I imagine the truth will leak out of that madhouse.
